Be aware that the series 2 pictures shown there are preliminary. There is at least one photo out there showing final versions (including a green Sombrero on the Mexican)

If Target gets stock before the 20% off sale finishes, that would be the best bet IMO. I have no idea though where in the store Target will keep them (where do Target normally keep such small collectible things?) or how hard it will be to sit there checking the bar-codes without Target people getting annoyed at you (I for one intend to use the "feel the bag" method as I think its fairer than the bar-codes) -

I think its reasonable to assume that animals (with the exception of really small parts like the Bat that comes with the series 2 vampire) and things like bicycles and motorbikes wont appear in these sets. -

Try Cannington K-Mart, they had stock last I looked (or at least I think so) As did various MYER stores. No sign of it at any of the Targets I have been into yet. -
Ripoffs-R-Us does it again with a 160AUD price tag.

Lego 'Useless Machine'

That last one reminds me of the scenes you see in cartoons and movies where people are running in and out of a set of doors chasing each other (its VERY common in say Scooby Doo) -
Organizing Technic Pieces
jonwil replied to daftendirekt's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I use similar trays to keep most of my collection (technic and otherwise) organized with various drawers for all the large stuff (I have a drawer just for technic friction pegs for example and another one for 2 x 2 bricks) The trays I use dont have the movable dividers but they come in multiple sizes with different sized compartments in each. For those in Australia, check out Fischer Plastic Products (they should be available at your local Bunnings) and they are perfect for storing LEGO. -

Here's one I am surprised no-one has suggested: (given that we are getting skateboarder in series 1 plus surfer and skier in series 2) Gender: Male Occupation: Snowboarder Headgear: Snowboard helmet (new helmet? regular motorcycle helmet? bike/sports helmet? Snow goggles like the ones from Star Wars?) Type of Facial Expression: Happy Torso: Snowboarder clothes (whatever makes sense) Accessory: Snowboard -
That green torso is also in this years Advent calendar AFAIK.

If you look at the picture it looks like there is not one but TWO bicycles, if you look at the girl with the bicycle, then look at the blue piece behind her you can see what looks to me like another bike behind that. If you look at the big map sign near the red mailbox, that map sign sticker looks like its one of the windows from the bus in either clear or white (its hard to tell from the picture). I hope TLG puts the green torso from the guy at the bus stop into a small set, I would love about 5 of them :) Decent civilian torsos suitable for everyday causal wear are hard to get (and usually require the purchase of expensive sets) Those that come in the smaller sets seem to be the same one over and over rather than introducing any of the newer and/or cooler ones. The downside is that with all this stuff, its likely to cost more than the garage or police station or airport did :( Especially if its a TRU exclusive in Australia (TRU is normally the last place I go for LEGO due to their high prices compared to other shops)

Spoke to someone at Toyworld Fremantle today. They said they are definatly getting the collectible minifigs in but they dont have a date. They said that they are in the process of expanding (into the former sign shop next door) and when its done they will be getting more LEGO in but they likely wont be getting any before then. The person I spoke to at Subiaco Toyworld basically said "Yes we will be getting some in at some point but I dont know if the boss has placed an order for some yet or when they will arrive" So it looks like the best answer is to keep checking your local Toyworld as the month drags on. -

Could it be a store similar to the one in Mooney Ponds in Victoria (Lego Education Store or something) which sells the Dacta/Educational sets in addition to the regular sets? -
I second the Ice Planet 2002 ship, I think its the best spaceship of all time.

That contradicts what has been said before about Toyworld stores getting it in in May. Should see about asking some Toyworld people at Fremantle (who were quoted as getting stock in this month) if they can shed any further light on it. -
Bricklink shows that the set includes http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=cty056 which has this head: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb331 The airport also has this head. The helicopter and limo and fire helicopter do not contain this head, they contain different glasses heads.

How long do you wait until you open your lego?
jonwil replied to Ratshot's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Usually I will open the box on the way home on the bus (and read the instruction manual and study the cool parts etc) but I will wait until I get home to open the bags. If its one of the impulse sets (which come in a single bag) I will try to do a "build in the bag" straight away. -
Any chance you could share the sticker files for the Australia Post stuff, Telstra phone booth and Aussie road signs?

Nice MOC, I should build a Hungry Jacks (Aussie name for Burger King) one of these days to go up against all the McDonalds people seem to be building lately :P

And TLG could use the technique they used for the crystal skull piece in the Indy sets and inject some kind of colored goop into the transparent flask to make it look like the scientist is doing an experiment The Barbarian would be cooler with a giant Axe than with a sword or club IMO. The lumberjack needs a saw. -

The minifig sets seem to be available at stores in Europe. Best bet to get them in Australia is to talk to the people at your local Toyworld(s) and see if/when they are getting them in. -
Can anyone tell from the pictures what torso the camera guy has?
-
I can say that they ARE comming out in Australia, people at various Toyworlds have confirmed it.

I dont think its just the cost, also with the rechargeable battery it has to be recharged by the parents (there is a risk also of the kid looking for where the parents plugged it in so they can take it and associated risk of kid electrocuting himself by playing with power outlet where his toy is plugged into) With the new AAA battery box the parent has to just buy a packet of batteries and put it in the box. Minimal risk of injury or electrocution for the kid. In any case AFOLs can always buy the rechargeable battery box and recharger from Shop @ Home. Aussies can order the recharger (which would presumably come with a Euro plug on the end) and buy an adapter as the voltage will be the same. (or you could go to Dick Smith or somewhere and buy a generic adapter that outputs the correct voltage and polarity like the one I have for my music keyboard which has a voltage selection switch and a bunch of reversible plug tips)
