  1. For once, something GOOD from TRU. Shop @ Home has the public transport at $169.99 so the TRU price is a saving of $40 from the Shop @ Home price. I for one will be buying one as soon as stock appears locally in case the $129.99 price is an error and they bump the price back up.
  2. Several TRUs here in Perth reported that they are getting stocks in tomorrow and to check back then (which I shall do)
  3. I wish I had a keyboard that was good enough to do this. But my keyboard is only a basic model :(
  4. Never seen electronics in a Target Country store myself. I think a Dick Smith would be a more appropriate venue for such things (and given that they do appear in many smaller towns, a Dick Smith might be an appropriate MOC for you to attempt in the future :)
  5. Voted Aquanauts/Aquasharks since I love those themes and am only missing 2 yellow propeller housings and 1 yellow 1 x 1 tile with red and black buttons pattern in order to be Aquazone complete (and have every part from every set). I have plans for some kind of super-alternate-model (or models) using just the parts from these Aquazone sets and nothing else.
  6. Hit a bunch of places today, nothing whatsoever of note at Cannington unless you count the already mentioned S1 minifigs at Target. Still nothing from TRU about the City Public Transport :( Toyworld in Canning Vale had nothing recent, just some older stuff (and nothing particularly old either) Big W in Canning Vale also nothing, same with Target in Bull Creek. Nothing anywhere in Fremantle either, Toyworld was a bit of a bust. Asked around about the Family Home but no information whatsoever about it, despite the stated-in-the-catalog August release date fast disappearing. I have money in my wallet but no-one wants to sell me the stuff I want (Court Jester impulse, Minifigures S2, City House, City Public Transport, Grand Emporium)
  7. Speaking of Cartoon Network, one show that could work VERY well in LEGO would be Codename Kids Next Door. Given that all their "technology" is made up of cobbled together bits of junk and common household/neighborhood items items (anything from a piece of wood right up to a school bus) I think LEGO would be a great fit.
  8. Anyone in Perth looking for Minifigures S1, Target CBD had what appeared to be a nearly full box on the shelf next to the other LEGO.
  9. Nice review. Wish a retailer would stock this here in Australia, looks like its got some great parts.
  10. Its a pity B&N wont be getting either the City Public Transport or the Grand Emporium in stock :(
  11. Where did you get the black goggles from? Or is that a custom painted part?
  12. Picked up the Farmer impulse and Wizzard impulse from Toys R Us in Morley today. Plenty of both available. No sign anywhere of the City House, Public Transport or Jester impulse :( Don't bother asking anyone at TRU about sets they are getting in. If its not on the shelf then as far as the employees are concerned, it may as well not exist.
  13. Oh yeah, second the straw hat. Would be great (when combined with the HP uniform prints) to create private school uniforms
  14. - Part name: Sheep - Part description: A part similar in size to the current pig (or slightly smaller) but of a sheep. - Part usage: Would complete the farm theme by adding a classic farm animal. - Part name: Windscreen 2 x 6 x 2 - Part description: Like this windscreen only 6 studs wide. - Part usage: All kinds of 6 wide vehicles - Part name: Windscreen 1 x 8 x 3 - Part description: Like this one - Part usage: Big trucks - Part name: Plate 1 x 3 with 2 studs - Part description: Would be a 1 x 3 plate with 2 studs in the middle (similar to the existing 1 x 2 with 1 stud) - Part usage: Getting half-stud offsets and other things - Part name: Plate 1 x 4 with 3 studs - Part description: Would be a 1 x 4 plate with 3 studs in the middle (similar to the existing 1 x 2 with 1 stud) - Part usage: Getting half-stud offsets and other things - Part name: Brick, Modified 2 x 6 - 1 x 6 with 2 Recessed Studs and Side Arches - Part description: Like this http://img.bricklink.com/P/86/52038.gif but 6 wide - Part usage: Cars of all sorts - Part name: Airplane door for 6 wide airplanes - Part description: Like this door but goes with the new 6 wide airplane parts - Part usage: 6-wide airplanes and helicoptors of all sorts - Part name: Airplane door frame for 6 wide airplanes - Part description: Like this part but goes with the new 6 wide airplane parts - Part usage: 6-wide airplanes and helicoptors of all sorts - Part name: Window 1 x 4 x 2 - Part description: Like this window but 4 studs wide - Part usage: All kinds of buildings and vehicles - Part name: Technic Plate 2 x 2 with hole - Part description: A 2 x 2 technic plate with hole, like the 2 x 4 but only 2 x 2 with a single hole - Part usage: All sorts of things - Part name: Tile 2 x 2 with hole - Part description: Like the 2 x 2 techinc plate above but with no studs. - Part usage: All sorts of things
  15. I think an ancient-architecture bank would look better as a Modular set.
  16. My idea (similar to the "securing of evidence officer") Crime Scene Investigator/Examiner Male Male hair Suitable head. Black torso with jacket front. White or silver paint (to represent reflective stripes) Writing on the back in yellow that says "CSI". White or Lt Flesh hands (gloves). Black pants. Accessories could be a camera. Or a UV light/torch. Or a case (to hold all the gear). Or a printed 2 x 2 tile with evidence on it. My idea is more like how TV (both fictional and real) portray crime scene guys.
  17. Lord Of The Rings would be kick megablocks. So many wonderful weapons, armor pieces, minifigs, animals, buildings, locations etc. In order to do it justice they would need at least 5 or so new moulds for swords alone. Imagine all the battle packs: Rohan Rider battle pack Gondor battle pack Orc battle pack (multiple for the different kinds of Orcs) Goblin battle pack Elf battle pack Dwarf battle pack If done properly, it would be the biggest thing for Castle builders (both fantasy and historic) since castles switched from Yellow to Grey.
  18. A report from Toys R Us in Morley, they now have farmers and wizards in stock. There was also a report that they will be getting a new shipment of product this week (Wednesday/Thursday I believe). Hopefully the City Public Transport is in that shipment.
  19. Nice Modulex MOC, dont see too many people using Modulex in a MOC.
  20. I think a UCS Mon Calamari Star Cruiser (similar physical size to the UCS Star Destroyer) would look great.

    Captured

Nice MOC. I think the Mars Mission aliens are the ugliest piece ever produced by TLG.
  22. Nice MOC. For some reason I picture Homer Simpson as a customer for this truck :)
  23. The last word on the NASA budget is that Congress is pushing for a new direction based on re-using shuttle infrastructure like the SRBs. (and thus keep jobs going in a down economy, important for politicians up for reelection soon)
  24. Still no sign of the impulse sets over here in the west :(
  25. I am going to make a bunch of custom stickers. What sort of sticker material should I use to get the best results? (something like what TLG uses when they make stickers would be great) I have tried to make some stickers before using some ink-jet mailing labels but it didnt turn out very well (the labels I bought were nominally transparent but were actually only translucent and looked crap) I am not interested in actual decals because decals are for things that are intended to be permanent and the parts I am making will not be permanent.
