If Series 2 becomes a TRU exclusive here in Australia, I am going to be SO annoyed (Toyworld and Target are a lot more likely to be good places to be able to find the ones I want)

7898 is also IR, not RC. Its just an incompatible form of IR.

Is there someone out there who can post a big image (scan or photo) of the inventory page in the instructions for this set?

I like figs a lot and always try to get the more interesting ones. I just wish there was more variety in City minifigs instead of the same torsos, heads, headgear/hair and accessories all the time.

Do you happen to know the brand name of the sticker paper you are using? The problem I have with my stickers is that the sticker paper I am using is not shiny in the way official TLG stickers are.

I recently took my Lamborghini Polizia apart and have noticed that there is a blue 1 x 2 plate that has split along one of the short ends with the split going from the bottom edge all the way to the stud. Its only noticeable if you REALLY look for it though. I also have other parts with similar small imperceptible splits (none of which affect the actual use of the part) I want to see LEGO go back to making quality of EVERY part they sell #1

Lets hope we see the City Public Transport set out by then. I remember when TRU had the re-issue Black Seas Barracuda at a nice price (which is where I got mine from). Too bad TRU doesn't have prices like THAT anymore :'(

Anyone in Perth looking for a cargo train, MYER Fremantle had about 1/2 dozen as of today. Also, Toyworld (Fremantle anyway) has/had the Toy Story alien promo (30070) in stock at 6 bucks. Not bad considering that the alien alone will set you back that much on Bricklink right now.

The instruction manual or sticker sheet doesn't normally count in the "parts count" on Shop @ Home (or Brickset which uses Shop @ Home numbers). And in any case this set has 4 books (one for the front car, one for the middle car, one for the back car and one for the platform/signal)

Heard it today from another member at the PALS (Perth Adult Lego Society) meeting this morning.

Nice ideas there although I think the archery target would look better with a 1 x 1 round plate in yellow stuck right in the center. As for other impulse ideas, how about: Witch impulse (with witch figure, broomstick, cauldron and maybe a bat or frog or something) Dragon Knight impulse (similar to set 5615 but with a Dragon Knights knight, give him the new helmet, some plate armor, dragon knights shield plus weapons in pearl dk grey) Lion Knight impulse (again similar to set 5615, with Lion Knights knight, possibly either new helmet or maybe the helmet with the very wide brim, definatly plate armor again along with lion knights shield plus weapons in pearl lt grey) Those last 2 would provide a much better way to bulk up armies than the battle packs IMO.

Well there is the new Russell Crowe Robin Hood film from earlier this year (although given that it shared many of the same people as Gladiator, maybe its best NOT to remember the existence of this particular film) There is also the 2006 BBC Robin Hood TV show (which has been airing on ABC here in Australia lately)

The official part count does not count spares either, not on any set I have seen.

The problem is that the bricklink inventory is wrong (for one thing the BL inventory claims that there is 2 motors) So we have 2 inventories with different contents, neither of which agree with the parts count.

Trying to get a 100% correct inventory for this set as I am parting it out with a few friends and need to be sure that I have buyers for every piece before I jump in.

Someone reported seeing the Green Grocer (yes definatly the Green Grocer) at Toyworld in Midland. Price seemed to be at RRP from what they could remember.

Does anyone have any idea what sort of discounts (if any) David Jones is likely to offer on the Grand Emporium? Anyone know what sort of discounts were offered on the Green Grocer?

Thanks for the review, its a good set but it has no parts in it I need. I think the yellow truck is a better buy :) (and I cant afford both)

If anyone obtains the City House, City Public Transport or Toys R Us Truck, I would very much like it if they could provide a parts inventory of the set (e.g. a photograph of the instruction manual pages containing the parts list) Oh and 160AUD for the City Public Transport. Yet more evidence that LEGO continues to increase their cross subsidization of the US market at the expense of the rest of the world.

From looking at the pictures, this looks similar to previous ANA sets in that its a 3181 Passenger Plane with a custom box, a custom ANA sticker sheet and a hefty price tag. From looking at the pictures, the parts selection seems identical to the 3181 with the detail being created by stickers. In theory if someone was to scan in the ANA stickers, it would be possible to re-create this set yourself.

Bah, 100€ means its going to be even MORE expensive here in .au :( Especially since its a TRU exclusive.

Damn, if TRU in Germany are selling the public transport set at 69.99€ then TRU in Australia will be selling it for somewhere north of $150 or so most likely :(
