Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!

I hit all 4 TRU stores in Perth today and no sign of any farmers or wizards (or jesters), nor did the clueless staff members know a thing about them. Nothing whatsoever of interest in any of those stores. No sign of any "sale" signs at the one Big W I was able to hit. Lots of Toy Story 1+2 sets at various levels of discount in various stores. -
Its great to hear that the designers have FINALLY (after this years public transport set with the green bike and the white bicycle to come next year) been allowed to make the bicycle in colors other than red (which for a bike is totally unrealistic, I almost never see red bikes)

New Products BrickForge from BrickFair 2010 now available

Now THESE look good. I can already see myself wanting the drumsticks, a couple of the electric guitars, an acoustic plus assorted hair. (plus I need to get the handsaw for my Series 1 magician and his "saw a woman in half" trick) The lamp post looks good too, as does the violin and the custom figs. (although if the price tags shown in the pictures for the custom figs are the actual prices, they are out of my price range :) I suspect the Ranger hat will lead to some custom Canadian Mountie figs. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
jonwil replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Love the sounds of Series 3, its going to be as good as S1 and S2 by the sounds of it. I NEED to get multiples of the Snowboarder (both for my own collection and some to give to people I know who are mad keen snowboarders) Pitty that they didnt go the route of making a male guitarist but instead chose to make a singer. Fisherman sounds great (if it comes with any new fishing rod or hat or whatever) Hawaii Girl, that sounds good (no ukulele is a pity though) Baseball player, now that sounds good (now if only they would do a cricket player :) Alien sounds GREAT (regardless of whether it comes with the same gun or a different gun) Male singer definatly sounds great, as does the Doctor (another fig I will have to get to give to friends) Gorilla will likely have a molded head (I cant see them doing a molded headpiece like the Studios werewolf) He meant that it was a remake of the mummy from Adventurers etc. And yes the Mummy sounds like it will go great with the Series 2 Pharaoh. -
There is already the 10029 Lunar Lander (which came with 2 Apollo astronaut figs)

That might explain the Wizzard impulse sighting someone made a while back. TRU may be getting both the Farmer and Wizzard for their big September event (and hopefully the Court Jester too) -
As someone who refuses to pay the "Lucas Tax" on the starwars sets and someone who owns a boat-load of old Space stuff (Classic Space, Futuron, Blacktron 1, Ice Planet), I would LOVE to see an AFOL space set (not interested in the shuttle adventure because it just doesn't feel "real" to me without all the NASA logos and stuff) I think a "Blacktron 3" base using the Space Police 3 bad-guy Blacktron torso (as others have suggested) would be GREAT (especially if it contained bits in black and/or trans-yellow that are otherwise hard to get in those colors) But since such a set would take money away from overpriced starwars sets, I doubt it will happen :( I think the last time any really GOOD space set appeared was with the Star Justice (which is a GREAT set)

What you heard from the LEGO rep matches up with the "September" date I have heard from elsewhere. -
LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
jonwil replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
With the more even distribution talked about (i.e. US getting more stock than was the case for series 1), I suspect that getting hold of entire boxes will be harder. -
I expect NinjaGo may be some sort of power-rangers-esque theme (possibly like Power Rangers Ninja Storm without the huge robot thing (or maybe even WITH the huge robot thing) A bunch of specific called-out-by-name "good guy" heroes (with one of them specifically called out as the leader most likely), a called-out-by-name bad guy leader and a pile of generic unnamed bad-guy henchmen.

Looking good there.

Does anyone have any reports on when TRU is supposed to be getting the public transport set? -
Doesn't have to be an actual motor, just parts to make it LOOK like there is a small motor.

Great review. This set has quite a few nice pieces (the windscreen piece used as a map on the platform, the trans-black panels, the 2 passenger figs, the new front pieces and others) plus its got a lot of red. And if you don't like PF (e.g. because you only build 9v) you could always do what I did and buy the set then sell off the PF parts :)

Some reports from Armadale today: Toyworld still has Minifigures series 1 along with plenty of other new stock (City, Hero Factory etc) Big W has City Fire product, with the Helicopter being cheaper even than Target with the 20% off. Other fire products were at the usual Big W prices. Target also still has Minifigures series 1 (great if you want to get some at 20% off RRP). They also had the yellow truck (which at $40 is as cheap as you will get it anywhere) Nothing on Minifigures series 2 or the city house. -

Called all 4 TRU stores in WA and none of them had a clue about it. -

Will have to call up all 4 WA TRUs and see if any have gotten stock. -
Why aren't there more UK Lego shops?

You brits are lucky to have LEGO stores, for me as an Aussie to get to a LEGO store, I would need to fly for the best part of a day on an airplane. -

Do we have a release date for the TRU public transport set yet? I have seen some places that say September and others that say August. -
Remember though that Target USA and Target Australia have no relationship. So the fact that a Target in the US got the set doesn't mean anything for when it will show up in Australia or who will get it in stock.

Isn't there a jellyfish in one of the Spongebob sets?

Another option might be Bricklink. You could purchase this motor http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x1688a Then this battery box http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=bb466 Or the previously mentioned rechargeable battery box http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=8878-1 Plus the recharger to recharge it http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=8887-1 And optionally the IR receiver http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=8884-1 and remote http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=8879-1 Depending on your location, you may be able to pick up the parts you need at prices that are cheaper than shop @ home. The non-rechargeable battery box linked to above is likely to be easier to mod into a train than the regular PF battery box. (and cheaper than the rechargeable battery box) Also, the motor above is aparently a better motor than the other one linked to. (both new train sets include the above linked motor, non-rechargeable battery box, IR receiver and remote)

Has anyone heard any confirmation of who will stock Minifigures series 2? I have a report from Toyworld that they will be stocking it but has anyone heard anything about who else may stock it.
