  1. Just to follow up, the Harry Potter sets are now on the shelf at Target Bull Creek. Also, MYER in Booragoon had HP on the shelf (saw all of them except the Freeing Doby one)
  2. The guy from Bull Creek target told me that they do have the HP sets but that they aren't on the shelf yet He rummaged around in the boxes and told me that they DID have all 6 sets and that yes, they could sell them to me (he put the 3 small ones on hold since those were the ones I wanted) So to those south-of-the-river looking for HP who cant get to parts north to buy it, go to Bull Creek and ask to speak to someone in the toy section who can then find the items (that's if they havent already put them on the shelf by the time you get there)
  3. David Jones in Garden City does not carry toys (unless that's changed since I was last there) I think I too will probably hold off for a bit, if there IS a sale, someone will find out and post in here. If not, maybe I can buy once my tax thingo clears or my bank ballance looks better. That way I can go and buy the 3 smaller harry potter sets (and complete my collection) tomorrow (if I can find a Target store that has em that's reachable without causing me to miss my hair appointment). Also need to keep money around for the City House (which STILL hasn't shown up yet :( )
  4. Oh yeah as of last night (Thurs) Big W in Whitfords had all 3 impulse sets (farmer, jester and wizard) Also, David Jones Perth CBD had (as of Friday Night) several copies of the Grand Emporium priced at RRP. Should I: A.Buy it at RRP to guarantee myself a copy? B.Put one on lay-by and pay it off over time? or C.Wait and hope for a sale? (and hope that there is still stock left when that happens?) DJs had plenty of stock of everything else including Harry Potter, Creator and City (and a couple of copies of the modular fire station) So anyone in Perth who cant find HP, cant get to stores north-of-the-river that have stock and dont mind paying RRP, go to David Jones in the CBD for your stock :)
  5. Depends on the store, sometimes they do know what you are talking about, sometimes they dont.
  6. I suggest ringing a few Target stores and asking around. If you cant get to Whitfords, try Carousel, Fremantle or East Victoria Park (as the other target stores in that neck of the woods) Some Target stores are better than others. Bullcreek in particular seems to be lousy for LEGO, as does the CBD store.
  7. Picture number 5 is where he is riding a red bicycle. Picture #8 looks like he is riding a scooter or motorbike.
  8. If TLG had used the large train wheels on the Hogwarts Express, it would have required them to make it larger (closer in size to the Emerald Night) in order to make it look good. Which would have increased the price point (clearly not something they were willing to do) The Toy Story train could use the large wheels because it was a representation of a toy and so it was fine if it looked out of proportion (because the on-screen toy looked out of proportion too)
  9. Nice MOCs. Where did the tan grain stalks from the Indian camp come from?
  10. Hogwarts castle has a lot of empty space in it. But its a GREAT set and surprisingly good value (especially when you factor in the 11 minifigs (including the statue), cat, rat, bat, owls x 3 and many other great parts. Still got the Express and Burrows to build :)
  11. MYER Perth has stock of just about everything except Harry Potter (including I believe one modular fire station left although dont quote me on that) Big W at Whitfords has the 2 smallest HP sets but none of the big ones. Target at Whitfords though has all 6 sets. They arent with the other LEGO though, they are in a "promotional" display. And yes, all 6 sets were for sale at RRP then discounted by 20% (bought the Burrow, Express and Castle myself)
  12. Great review. I have the Express sitting beside me waiting to be built (gotta finish my Hogwarts Castle first :) and I agree that its a GREAT set.
  13. LEGO did release an Ultimate Collectors Series Batmobile in the Batman line (wasnt a bad set either)
  14. Getting better and better all the time. I especially like the Australia Post, the Toyworld and the Target Country. Love the Mitre 10 also (I wish I had been able to do decals for my Bunnings store that I made a few years back) Seeing your MOCs and the relavent decals has made me even more inclined to produce GOOD decals for my MOCs somehow (although my Canon Pixma printer isn't very good for that task)
  15. Best bet if you want HP is to just do what I plan to do tommorow (i.e. Thursday), ring all the stores you have the ability to easily get to until someone can shed light on who has some. If I find any, I will be sure to post on EB.
  16. If I had the chance to get to a Target store before Thursday, I would do that trick. But I dont :)
  17. At $33, that set would be worth it for the brown alone (if you can find somewhere that still has one and if you like brown more than I do) Me, I am hoping I can find a Target come Thursday that has the HP sets in stock (and can decide which set(s) to buy first) Any advice on which HP sets I should consider buying first given that I am potentially interested in the castle, burrow, hut and train (and not the dobies release or the quidditch match) and given the target normal price vs the 20% off price? Also, what are the chances that Target is going to specifically remove the stock from the shelves from the duration of the sale (as has happened in the past for other sets)?

Nice to have a LEGO room. I wouldn't necessarily want a LEGO room myself since I like to watch TV and stuff when I build (things you cant do unless you put an extra TV in the LEGO room)

    Moc: Closet.

Nice MOC, almost reminds me more of what one might find in a shed than a closet though.
  20. WOW. Just WOW. So many wonderful bits that will fit in my City MOCs (torsos included)
  21. Good news on the HP sightings. Now the question is, do I buy them now or wait for a sale... Anyone know if k-mart or bigw (or anyone else) is likely to have these at below RRP?
  22. If you compare the value of the Kingdoms castle at 169.99 for 933 pieces and the Hogwarts castle at 179.99 for 1290, the Hogwarts castle seems like its better value. Whether that indicates that the Kings Castle is a rip-off or that Harry Potter is surprisingly cheap I dont know. But yeah considering I had heard rumors of a $200 price for the castle, I am surprised at this price.
  23. For those in Perth looking for Jesters, Morley TRU has them in stock as of Thursday night (hard to notice, they are higher than eye level) Target had good stock levels of Minifigs S2 located at the checkout area (possibly in an attempt to discourage people from spending ages feeling the bags or using the bar codes). Nothing else interesting though. K-Mart had reasonable stock levels but no stock left of any of the clearance sets. (and no shelf tags for them either as far as I saw) MYER had nothing interesting, I was able to get the second Space Police Raid VPR that I wanted though. Found stock of the pirate impulse I wanted but then decided that I didnt need it and was better off buying the dk green legs from Bricklink :) Just need the Harry Potter stuff, the City House and the Grand Emporium (none of which are available yet :( ) Plenty of stock of the current police line around, with a new police line comming out in 2011, I expect some of the stores to put the old police station on clearance (even if you dont like police specifically, the police station is a good source of windows and white bits and stuff)
  24. There is a reason I have heard it referred to as the "gaynz" bank :P
  25. Any sign of the City House? Does anyone have a contact with LEGO Australia and can find out whether they know anything about it? (doubt it but still...) Anyone know which stores will get Harry Potter and whether they will have all sets? Anyone know of the best place to find a Space Police Raid VPR or a Pirate Survival?
