  1. No sign of anything new in the west yet. No new product at DJs/MYER/Target in the CBD or at Target/K-Mart/Big W in Joondalup. MYER did have 3 or 4 Imperial Flagships on the shelf though if anyone still wants one of those. With product available in the east, it cant be that long before it appears over here :)
  2. Is it just me or does this theme remind me a lot of Mars Attacks? The sets dont interest me that much but there may be some parts worth picking up.
  3. WOW that is amazing. The figs in particular are GREAT. Nice use of the BrickForge accessories. What are you using for the hair on the guy with the goggles? Are the torsos custom or if not, what set do they come in? If this head http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb044 existed in flesh tones, it would be perfect for the guy with the glasses :)
  4. Has anyone seen any 2011 product in the west yet? Also, does anyone know of a way to get product from the US that doesn't involve: A.Paying for 2 lots of shipping (shipping from Shop @ Home USA to somewhere in the US then shipping to .AU) B.Paying to ship all that air (i.e. somewhere that will repack the items as small as possible without damage) and C.Paying by PayPal (who I refuse to use due to past bad experiences) So someone who can walk into a retail store in the USA and buy product, repackage it smaller and ship it to Australia who can accept either VISA or a bank transfer into a .AU bank account. I suspect what I want doesn't exist though :(
  5. And just to throw a spanner into the works, 2 Classic Space sets included the non friction version of the axle pin (which was normally produced in light grey until the switch to tan) in black (I actually own some myself) So there does exist both non-friction axle pins in black from the old classic space sets AND friction axle pins in black (which I also own some of) from various sets before the switch from black to blue for that part. Are there any other examples of parts that are almost identical but with functional differences being produced in the same color?
  6. Things that I think have changed TLG for the worse (IMO): 1.The drop in quality of the bricks 2.The disappearance of alternate models and idea books 3.The changes to packaging (large sets like the 7892 hospital used to have an entire box front that lifted up to reveal the contents, now its just the tiny flaps at the side that open) 4.The proliferation of parts that are only useful for one thing (especially outside licenced themes) rather than the use of generic parts that can be used for all sorts of things in all sorts of themes. (although lately TLG has gotten better at introducing new generic parts) 5.Related to #4, the proliferation of larger elements in cases where multiple small elements would have been used in the past. For example, the new nose/tail parts in the recent City airplane and helicopter sets.
  7. Anyone know when (or have any rumors of when) any of the following will appear in K-Mart (or MYER or Target): bank robbery creator mini digger/mini plane police minifig set police dog unit prisoner transport police truck police station Atlantis temple minifigs series 3 I got a big whack of gift vouchers for xmas to spend on LEGO. Info on likely costs for those items would also be nice if its available :)
  8. All 3 sets to feature the "Technic Propeller 4 Blade 7 Stud Diameter with Square Ends" (which is the special swash plate piece in question) also used the now-discontinued Flex System to control said swash plate. Maybe the number of parts required to bring the swash plate out of retirement is too great.
  9. If TRU are using text or images that imply that its LEGO and not just Duplo, that sounds to me like false and misleading advertising. Which is illegal in Australia.
  10. Thats a nice airplane. Pitty the only chance I have of getting one will be to pay a fortune on Bricklink or to fly on one of the airlines that carry this stuff (none of which fly to Australia)
  11. Do we know for sure if the black army helmet comes in the NinjaGo sets or not? (i.e. was it just a prototype that they tried and then decided not to use)?
  12. The Mars Mission aliens are (IMO) the ugliest LEGO piece ever made. I hope if the rumors are true and we get aliens in this theme, they are more like the Space Police aliens or or the Atlantis creatures than the Mars Mission aliens.
  13. For classic figs, my favorite has to be the Ice Planet 2002 female. Only female fig in any Space theme to date AFAIK. For more modern figs, its hard to say. Probably one of the Collecable Minifigs, maybe the Snowboarder or the Punk Rocker or the hazmat guy.
  14. Doubt it would be the new sets. Likely just restock of old sets.
  15. I could see this theme pinching ideas from the old Mega Blox Alien Agency sets.
  16. Nice UTE, has given me some ideas for my own UTE that I will be making (I plan to make a Holden Colorado Single Cab Chassis UTE with a tan rear tray)
  17. That bank set is a must-buy for me. So many wonderful parts. The car chase, I love the cop car (and will probably steal its design for some cars of my own depending on how they did the rear windscreen) Red sports car is boring (because its yet another red one) The traffic camera is cool, anyone know what part they are using for the base? With the blue motorcycle, this means the 2010 police line includes cops riding quad bikes, trikes, motorbikes AND pushbikes
  18. TLG are now using plastic that can be colored at molding time rather than pre-colored ABS feedstock (at least I believe they are) so they can just use Maresk Blue pigment for this.
  19. That price for the fire super-pack is a bargain considering the RRP of the fire station alone is 139.99. So you are basically getting the other items for free (34.99 for the fire truck) As of late, TRU seems to be having some nice sales and some very un-TRU like prices on stuff.
  20. Nice review, it confirms that this set is a MUST BUY.
  21. Great time to buy another City Public Transport if you want one. Other than stuff thats only at TRU, there is little point buying from TRU as the DJs and MYER %off sales provide better value anyway IMO.
  22. I think your BOC deserves to be in your town, rural towns having a BOC (for the tradies), a Landmark (for the farmers) and a regular hardware store (for normal people) isnt unheard of. There would be surprisingly little overlap between the 3. BOC sells gas and supplies that go with the gas. Landmark sells arigcultral gear (btw, one cool idea for the outdoor bit of the Landmark might be a Windmill (could have one on display with kits where you pick up all the bits and chuck em in the back of the UTE) Soemthing like this http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40453&st=0&p=714206&hl=windmill&fromsearch=1entry714206
  23. Nice kebab shop. All you are missing is the rotating things of meat (assuming they have those in Dutch kebab shops like they do in Australian kebab shops)
  24. I think this would work very well as a caplock rifle from before the days of the cartridge ammunition. Now if they would get the tan cricket bat and this gun in whatever color most suits the Australian colonial era, I would finally have an excuse to place an order :P
  25. Nice MOC. I expect with the new fluted column pieces in the 2011 sets we will see more ancient greek/roman MOCs.
