I see no reason a driver for the USB IR tower couldn't be written that works on Windows 7 (I have a USB IR tower myself and would be interested in such a project) Someone just needs to document the protocol for the USB IR tower (or get TLG to document it or release its source code)

These are nice, I might have to get some myself (especially those nice printed flasks). The printed potion bottles look like they will be perfect for various LEGO RPG MOCs and games. And the splats will be perfect for toxic spills, blood (I gotta get me some in red for some crime scene stuff :) Not to mention the bottles and martini glasses (perfect for bottle shops, pubs and other things) And the warning light pieces will be better for warning lights (e.g. on construction vehicles) than http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=58176

If there are other non-LEGO things at Costco that you might buy (e.g. bulk food purchases) it might make the annual fee worth it.

When I was buying my first series 1 at a small toy store, I was sort of hanging around the counter (the boxes of figs were on the counter) trying to think of how I could get away with feeling the bags and the guy basically told me that he could find whatever I wanted via the bar-codes (which I knew about but didnt have) and then proceeded to scan figs with the computer to find the figs I wanted. When I bought my Series 2, I was in a large store with another AFOL and the box was on the shelf with all the other LEGO, one store employee asked what we were doing and we told them and promised to buy any figs that were in any way damaged or unsellable. Have seen others doing feel-in-the-bag as well (not people I know though) and would have no qualms helping people out (including total strangers) if they were trying to find specific figs.

Spotted a few things at Toyworld Claremont today: Yellow creator car Lots of Star Wars including the advent calendar Big space shuttle They also had a book called "crazy action contraptions" which is basically some instructions and a bunch of technic bits. Oh and they also had a copy of the supposedly-Big W-exclusive Pig Farm & Tractor. Only one though by the looks of it, no clue how they ended up with it. Nothing at all of note in MYER or David Jones in the Perth CBD (or target). No sign of the Star Wars advent at any store other than Toyworld so far and no sign of the Pet Shop at all. No Black Perl or City advent calendar spotted anywhere either.

Best place to start for a logging MOC is to get a pile of Series 5 lumberjacks.

The plot thickens... The instructions I am following (at the aforementioned link) have a different inventory page to the inventory page you posted. Looking at e.g. the underside of the car in your photos with the light bley bits, I think what really happened is a set redesign (most likely to make it stronger and/or otherwise make it more kid friendly, remember kids will be applying a lot of downward force to the set and driving it around the house etc) So the instructions at that link match the parts I have which means I can build my car and be happy without the need to care about the design as it is in your version of the set or the "extra parts" :)
