Now that I have seen better pictures, I am not as interested in these sets as I was before. Especially not if the math on these sets matches the math on the DC sets when it comes to Australian pricing.
-
I too would love to see the Bike in sets in any color other than red, black or green.
-
Do we have any pictures of (or information on) the airplane set yet?
-
Even though its not the most realistic representation, I MUST HAVE IT (being that its the only LEGO set ever made that is specifically Australian) Only downside is the price and the fact that the only way to get one will likely be to order from Shop @ Home or buy on the secondary market (or fly to Sydney and buy from anywhere in/near the opera house that ends up selling it, if anywhere)

I can confirm that some (but not all) of the Friends sets at MYER are more expensive than Shop @ Home RRP. The splash pool and outdoor bakery are $1 more The pet patrol, music stage, convertible, puppy house, workshop, fashion studio, cafe all match Shop @ Home RRP. The tree house and dog show are $2 more expensive The vet and beauty shop are $5 more expensive And the house is (as I said earlier) $10 more expensive. Looks like Target will be the best place to get Friends sets (especially if they continue with the semi-regular %off sales) EDIT: Do we have release dates or retailer names for the Recycling Center/truck, Robbers Hideout, Sydney Opera House architecture set, Series 7 figures or Marvel Super Heroes sets? -

MYe Carousell has a Tower bridge @ 399 plus Friends. $10 more than RRP on the big house @ 129, no idea on the others. Very close to boycotting MYER completely. -
Anyone got information on all these different metallic treatments? I know of Chrome (which is the shiny stuff seen on gold coins etc), Perl (which is where stuff is mixed in with the plastic to make it look metallic or whatever and is seen on e.g. some castle weapons) and Lacquered (which is what is used for things like the silver wheels on any number of Technic cars or the 1 x 2 tile gold bars from any of the various City sets) but is it that simple or are there more varieties out there? Are there actually more than 3 types of metallic part out there or are there only the 3 above with each of them being improved and replaced with a newer version of the same thing?

No friends spotted in Perth CBD yet. Is MYER selling the Friends product at RRP or are they charging more? -

David Jones Perth CBD has one pet shop on the shelf if anyone is looking for it. Also 5 Fire brigades -
Nice Octan gas station.

PNG is a much better format than gif and unless you have to work with some piece of software that can only read gif and not png, you should always choose png.

The graveyard duel is a nice set, pitty it never got sold in the stores here in oz :(
-
In the past you used to be able to place pre-orders with Shop @ Home, especially for big D2C type sets. What happened to that?
-
I suspect my trans-clear 2 x 2 round tiles came from a similar source (i.e. model shop parts/prototypes that somehow ended up in the hands of AFOLs)

What is the single rarest and/or most expensive LEGO piece?
jonwil replied to RunnersDad's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The Maresk blue baseball cap would have to be one of the rarest parts out there, its even more rare than the construction helmet AFAIK. -
I built a courthouse for the last club train layout but yours is way more impressive. I like the way you did the scales of justice (I couldn't come up with a good way to do them myself)
-
Where did the blue, trans-red and orange bikes come from? I cant find any information that they ever appeared in a set...
-
Me, I want to know where I get that blue bicycle in one of those pictures. And I would love to know why so many bikes in LEGO City are red compared to all the other colors they could be using (including the aforementioned blue or how about a yellow bike?)
-
Its hard to tell from the images but you may have a reversing loop in your layout.
-
Nice work so far. What heads are those on those red guys? (I am guessing something from Star Wars)
-
My guess is that the torso is from a set due out later in 2012 such as the city mining sets.
-
I wonder if the big sign pointing the way to the airport/train station/harbor/etc will appear in a set (and if so which one). It looks professional enough to be in a set and I doubt TLG would be showing off parts from a 2013 set so early in 2012 so if it is intended for a specific set, maybe it comes in a 2012 set somewhere. Regarding the newsstand seen in the pictures, that has to be a MOC and not part of a set. LEGO would never use the Harry Potter newspaper tiles in a non-HP set (as the license wouldn't allow it)
-
There is a report from Amazon China of an unknown 2012 set that is almost certainly a match for this parking garage. And there are various rumors about it being a 2012 set.
-
If its anything like the last sets of its type, the only way to get one will be to fly on certain airlines who have chosen to stock it in-flight.
-
The hospital set looks good although I am still undecided whether to get it now that we have better pics. The medical helicopter might make it worth the price. But now that we are seeing more pics, that garage is AMAZING. Just hope it doesn't cost a fortune.
