  1. WOW that car park looks COOL, it really is a new re-imagining of the Metro Park & Service Tower. The downside is that its likely to be exclusive to Toys R Us or something here in oz and cost a FORTUNE :(
  2. It wont fit as-delivered but it will fit if you replace the wheels on the cars with train wheels.
  3. I don't build Technic anymore but I LIKE the idea for the 3 functions, especially given that it looks like it can be done with just 2 new molds (and you can get 2 functions by doing the first mold of the 2)
  4. I don't recall a sign about the MYER One %off in Perth CBD today but I wasnt looking that closely at all the signage so it may have been there. In any case, I shall most likely be waiting for a Target sale for my next LEGO purchases rather than giving my money to a company that chooses to rip-off its customers by charging more than RRP.
  5. I think a LEGO Treebeard would be great, would be interesting to see how TLG made such an item (and whether it would be articulated in some form so it can move)
  6. I say the worst Minifig of all time has to be the Mars Mission alien http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=mm001 Also, can anyone tell me what color the vehicle in the Loki set is supposed to be? I cant tell from the pictures if its supposed to be normal blue, dark blue or something else.
  7. As is the case with Star Wars, there may be clauses in the contract between TLG and Warner/Tolkien that prevent TLG from producing battle packs containing figures only (so as not to damage those companies that are producing action figures)
  8. Someone on another forum posted "FYI all, Myer has 20% off lego till the 26th and for today and the next 3 days its an additional 10% off with Myer one card" Although with MYER and their price gouging on the Superman set, its STILL cheaper in a Target 20% off sale than it is with 20% + 10% off the MYER price. However, for sets NOT being sold above RRP (such as City sets), the deal is probably one of the best you can find on LEGO.
  9. If whats in the pictures is reflective of the final sets then it looks like we get the now fairly standard "ray gun" piece with a 1 x 1 cone on the front and some plates with teeth on the side. I see no reason for TLG to invest the money in yet another new mold for this line if they can do it with existing parts.
  10. A ghost pirate ship would be PERFECT for this (I picture something that looks a little like the POTC Black Perl except covered in white or GITD highlights ala the ghost train. Sails could be the same ones used for the Perl (or some similar black sails)
  11. The Jedi Interceptor WAS listed in the 2012 catalog I saw today at Toyworld and marked as "exclusive". No indication of who its exclusive to though. Given how much MYER seems to be ranting about online sales killing their business, I would have thought that selling product above RRP is the LAST thing they should be doing. But maybe they are doing it so that when they have another sale (3 for 2, %off, whatever) they dont have to discount the Superheroes product so much. Does anyone know if there are any restrictions put in place by LEGO Australia on what prices you can charge for product if you are a LEGO retailer?
  12. Don't forget the dirt bike accidents :) I suspect that the box art is still preliminary.
  13. In the current Aussie retail climate, ANY store that prices LEGO above RRP is stupid. (and yes that includes the small guys like Toyworld)
  14. In at least one picture you can see that Hawkeye's bow is a prototype piece.

    MOC: School

Nice MOC. Not sure that someone wearing a skate helmet (or is that a bike helmet) inside a classroom would fly though. At any school I know of, doing that would lead to a detention :)
  16. Interesting set but not really enough in it to make it worth a buy (given that I bought the previous Two-Face set)
  17. I like this set, depending on price, might pick one up as a parts pack. The cow-catcher in particular is a nice part (its hard to find in black) and its always nice to have more large train wheels. Some of the other parts (like the glow-in-the-dark spike pieces and the ghosts) also seem nice. I do think the train would have looked better if it had these http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=55423 instead of the technic pulleys (which probably could have been done without affecting the playability of the set when rolled across the table/floor/etc by kids)
  18. I am liking the ghost train, seems like a good source of interesting black bits (cow-catcher, large wheels, curved parts and more) Less interested in the castle since I dont build castle and it doesn't have as many useful bits as other 2012 sets :)
  19. I suspect that whatever building gets pushed first, it could include an appropriate vehicle.
  20. Its not a rumor, there has been a preliminary box picture posted somewhere so we know its real.
  21. LEGO have commented on Cuusoo and said that as the request is asking for a number of products to be made, the creator should pick one initial product and start there. People suggested the Saloon as the best place to start but I pointed out that TLG may not be willing to make a Saloon as a product given the negative associations. I suggested either a railway station and train (the one thing TLG never released in the last release of Western) or a bank/post office/stage coach as a good place to start. Someone from LEGO said "no comment on the Saloon, how about a General Store?"
  22. There is an ad for Murdoch College (private school here in Western Australia) that features a bunch of different bricks being used to build the school's logo. Cant find a copy of the ad on YouTube though.
  23. I think that some themes (Star Wars, NinjaGo, Hero Factory, Creator, City and possibly Friends) are getting too many sets in 2012. I also think some sets are on the shelf for too short a time (although some of that may be down to the retailers and not TLG) And I think TLG are producing too many store exclusives. (then again, that may also be outside TLGs control as TLG has to give the stores the exclusives they want or else the stores may not stock as much LEGO) Its hard to say whether Friends is getting too many sets in 2012 because its a new theme and having so many sets may be what it needs to succeed. I do think that having 2 waves of NinjaGo plus Monster Fighters and Dino (all of which are notionally "action" themes) is too much, especially with all the licensed product going on. (Superheroes is very clearly an "action" theme IMO)
  24. For those in the west, K-Mart in Inaloo has a few boxes of both S4 and S6 in stock (albeit at $5) so if you cant find them anywhere else, that is one option.
  25. Nice job, good looking old hardware store, should look even better with the stickers.
