Anyone know what the trans-orange part at the rear of the Gungan Sub is?
-
The one thing that surprises me is that despite LEGO skimping on figs in other themes like City and despite LEGO continuing to tell everyone just how expensive minifigs are (and how expensive new minifigs are), they still put liberal amounts of minifigs (and new ones at that) in Star Wars sets. Why can Star Wars get away with so many minifigs (and so many new ones) when City gets shafted with e.g. 2 figs in a set that really should have 3 or 3 in a set that should have 4 or whatever?

I am liking the house, interesting parts selection. Only negative for me is the Minifig, that torso is used far too much IMO, they should have used a different torso that better fits the "surfer" vibe (maybe the Hawaiian shirt torso?) and a different color for the legs.

Another small error I noticed between the film and sets is that in the Hulk set, the computer screen sticker shows Space Invaders whilst in the film the guy is playing Galaga :)

Nice review. A few interesting parts but not enough to make me rush out and buy this. Whether I buy it depends on what the price here in .au ends up being :) Nothing on the sticker sheet that's particularly appealing (unlike, say, the 2 x 2 heart monitor sticker from the Great Vehicles Ambulance)

Hopefully the Hulk set arrives at Target in time for their next 20% off sale :) At $100 (plus whatever markup greedy retailers like MYER or TRU decide to apply) its not worth it. -
Nice job on the 4-4-0, looks just like the real thing.

If there is someone out there with the Hospital set, can they please take a photo of the sticker sheet? Knowing if the stickers are any good will help me decide if I want to buy this set.

Yes it means joined Eurobricks. (this rule seems to be in place for all Eurobricks contests)

LEGO CUUSOO BTTF DeLorean Time Machine ACHIEVED
jonwil replied to Ceroknight's topic in LEGO Licensed
If this gets made into a set (and is easy for us Aussies to get without needing to jump through hoops) I would seriously buy one. I love Back To The Future and the DeLorian is second only to the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters as my favorite movie car. -
Yeah you are right, its only 4. Interestingly this set has exactly the same makeup of minifigs as the last hospital did (EMT with helmet, EMT with hat, doctor, patient)
-
Based on the pictures, it looks like the Hospital comes with 5 minifigs, the doctor, the guy driving the ambulance, the helicopter pilot (with the helmet), the other paramedic (with the blue baseball cap) plus the patient in the green jumper. Bit of a let-down that the set includes 3 paramedics and only one doctor. I think the set would have been better if it had included a second doctor and one less paramedic. I do like the new doctor torso though and wish I could get about 5 of em for my Hospital MOC (but unfortunately this set wont hit Australia for a few months yet plus each set only has ONE torso so I know it will be almost impossible to get on Bricklink :( )

The Hospital looks interesting as a parts pack at least, might have some interesting stickers too. Not so interested in the mining sets except for the new parts (i.e. the new mining hat)

Remember though that TLG does not have any rights to produce sets based on the X-Men films, the Fantastic Four films or the Spiderman films, only the comic book versions of those characters. Their rights extend only to films produced by Marvel Productions.

An internet tale Winchester/Shaun of the Dead project on CUUSOO
jonwil replied to Yatkuu's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Its clear from what LEGO have said that the Western set (if it reaches 10k) would only be made as a single building. -

Its not about the target age for sets, its about the fact that LEGO feels that a set based on a movie with that level of violence in it could tarnish its image. All of the film licenses TLG has produced to date (Harry Potter, LOTR, POTC, POP, Star Wars etc) have (best as I can tell from IMDB) been rated no higher than PG-13 in the US. Shaun was rated R in the US so its clearly more violent than these other properties. -
I also saw the movie today and its made me want the Hulk set even more. Too bad its not available in Australia yet (which is totally stupid, you would think they would want the merchandise product for one of the most anticipated superhero films ever made to be on the shelf at the same time as the film...)

I second the recommendation for the Black Seas Barracuda, its a GREAT pirate ship (I own the 10040 reissue and I had the original version as a kid that I got for learning to ride my bike) and a great source of ship parts. (one of these days I will take my BSB parts and build that Space pirate ship I have always wanted to build, the Black Star Barracuda)

I would love to see the wheels+tires from the 8448 Super Street Sensation come back. They look cool, they were only in that set and they cost lots on Bricklink. Plus the 8448 was the first set I bought coming out of my dark age and although I dont build Technic these days, back when I used to build, I used the 8448 wheels on all my large technic cars.

I think the guy with the pith helmet, monocle and gun is good, as is the guy with the sunglasses and flying jacket. Also the guy with the hammer is cool.

Nice one, if there is one thing we need its more Space trains :) Definitely one of the best AC MOCs I have seen.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion

I wish these would hurry up and come to Australia :( -
I must say I like this set, especially all that dark green. Although I got enough on my wishlist as it is so I dont think this will be entering my collection unless it comes to Australia and goes on sale :)

No WAY that thing is worth $100. The Shop @ Home RRP is more than DOUBLE The US Shop @ Home RRP and then TRU is charging an even HIGHER price? Its not illegal nor should it be. I dont understand how retailers can claim on the one hand that "online sales are killing us" and then on the other hand charge such high prices...
