  1. Thank you Ska for the advice. I'll try and develop a more varied texturing technique (I agree with you regarding the rounds, but they look nice when applied sparingly)
  2. @MKJoshA Thanks again everyone for the tips. I'll make sure to better my photographs in the next moc I post.
  3. kabel- I assume you mean me by that but I am an active Kaliphlinite and am therefore able to give UoP credits http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88352
  4. Arenathon is planning a new Kaliphlin city and was just advising Arenathon on how to draft it. Also thank you for the correction kabel. I'll leave such questions to you and others the next time such a question arises
  5. I usually hand draw mine with some pencils and paper (looks more natural). Then I just draw random zigzaging lines for continents and islands (this could be used for the foundation of the city). Map out the BASIC shape. Avoid circular or rounded shapes (unless there is a valid reason for it). Then go back and trace over the lines with more detail. This darkens the edges nicely and adds a realistic look. For buildings, map out streets first and name them. Then draw boxes for buildings. Remember to put a key and a compass rose on the map. An example of this technique is here. https://www.flickr.c...05/13519003315/. You can crumple it, tear it, or burn parts of it for a more ancient look. To get the darkish shading for the desert parts, I drew tiny thin lines and smudged them with my finger. Hope this helps. The upper link is also a map of Quataria for those interested. A better look at the map (not to scale) North of the bolded dotted line is the Principality and south of it is the Urgaul Pact
  6. Thanks de Gothia. I agree about the frames and thanks for the photography advice. The tree was made from a combination of Mark of Falworth's Falworth Tree and one of Derfel Cadarn's in his guide on Eurobricks. Links: http://inspiredbrick...n-tutorial.html http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=60907 Just put antennae on top of the clip pieces and put on the foliage pieces
  7. Disregard my last comment. kabel (see below) knows more about such a thing than me. Oh and I finally learned to operate the pics and my first moc is posted. Special thanks to robuko, who provided me with the tutorial that finally made it click for me .
  8. A free-build for Kaliphlin The Temple of Tsaulkoth is a temple on the outskirts of Anemaquar, the chief city-state in the Kaliphlinite Principality of Quataria. The church is the center of religious worship in Quataria, as well as the seat of the Archpriest of Anemaquar. This is not part of my sigfig's storyline (that will commence in the next post). Constructive critiscism regarding photos and building are welcome. A view of the temple grounds. The tree looks better in real life
  9. I'm new here but SkaForHire is leader of Kaliphlin, and Ecclesiastes is the the leader of GoH. I'm pretty sure rogueang is leader of Avalonia, ZCerebrus is leader of Nocturnus, and kabel is leader of Mitgardia (though I can't be sure)
  10. Or it could be utilized for both. I myself have a 300 pg. maunscript for my own world, and I used Quataria for that as well as GoH
  11. Yes it's a good moc, but as Ska said the grey plate detracts from the build
  12. Well-detailed interior (I'm envious of your book collection :) )
  13. That's excellent news Aranethon. That would definitely attract more people to join GoH (and hopefully Kaliphlin exclusively)
  14. Not all buildings have to be composed of sandstone TTROOPER. The only thing that is really regulated is the introduction of new locations into the map and challenges. However, you should try to stick to the Kaliphlin theme of architecture (so it should be a like material) s to respect others' contributions
  15. Nasitadel could be on Gorr too, off the like. Smaller rivers and lakes too insignificant to appear on the map could accomodate for the small amount of rivers Perhaps the lake region on Gorr would be a suitable place for the city. It has a large lake and a river (some tributaries of the river could accomodate for the small amount of rivers)
  16. I suppose, but there isn't much land on the eastern side of the Rakath Mountains. Also, there's no definitive boundary between Nocturnus and Kaliphlin; therefore we may be encroaching on their territory if we were to colonize east of the Rakath Mts.
  17. I see your point Mike I suppose I should have anticipated the marshes as it is a delta after all
  18. Nice waterfall, +1 UoP for both topics
  19. Depending on how many rivers you wanted (I believe it was five) then I still think that the suggestion of the Arhenaten Delta is the best
  20. Nice landscaping. The target and the SNOTted swamp are my favorite aspects of it.
  21. Thank you Robuko . I've been struggling to properly post pics for my introductory moc I spent the last couple weeks building. I have been using attachments or copying and pasting from a regular Microsoft pic folder which causes the site to glitch
  22. Good job, I like the usage of slopes for the stern (or the bow (I'm not a ship expert )). The droid piece is an inventive anchor. I like the use of he pieces for the folded up sails but it might look better if they were unfurled (unless this is supposed to be in harbor; I recognize its potential under such a circumstance).
