Are Ultra Agents and Ninjago connected somehow?
DuckBricks replied to gamejutzu's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
"In Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, around season 5, characters from Ultra Agents are seen participating in the Tournament of Elements. You could say that they were just cameos since Lego needed more participants, but there could be something else happening." Unfortunately, these are completely different characters with different names. The backstories are radically different too: The UA villains were infected by the portal, while the Ninjago ToE participants are descendants of Elemental Masters. " Some canon proof is, in the Ultra agents app, Terrabyte is implied to have transferred or at least helped transfer the Overlord virus to Borg Industries. The Ultra Agents app, I believe, is canon to the Ultra Agents story. A tech associated guy. The overlord virus can make his face show up on every screen. Terrabyte did the exact same thing when he hacked downtown." Not canon if just speculation. The fact that a character has similar abilities to another character in two different franchises does not mean they are part of the same universe. Going to try to say this as nicely as possible but there's no way they're in the same universe, and it's been stated time and time again. It is a fun fan theory, though. -
Thanks! It's actually really simple with a few hinge plates only... :)

The strange origins of the Time Cruisers theme

This is really interesting stuff. I had read the comic before, but didn't know how it related to everything in the production of Time Cruisers. Very interesting read! -
Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Exactly my reaction. Pretty annoyed by this, but at least now it's more tied in with the sets. Really, are they that much too OP with powers that unless they're fighting other with powers, they can't have their powers at all??- 4,591 replies

Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion
DuckBricks replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I have seen it, and while the skeletons did manage to pull off more of a menacing appearance there, watch any of the pilot episodes or any of the other mini movies featuring the skeletons and you'll see they were goofy and extremely incompetent, and written more as comedy than villain. What we've seen of the lava monsters as of now isn't much, but they certainly aren't solely comedy - the evil cackling of the red spheres and even their leaders - Jestro and the BoM - are certainly more menacingly scary than Ninjago's skeletons were. But as I mentioned, it's too early to make a definitive statement on this until we get the first few episodes... -
I've been thinking about the whole "will there be a Dimensions 2" argument, or just an update to this existing game.... Since all LEGO games since Marvel Superheroes hint to the next game in the making (I.e. Black Panther was confused as Batman in MS2, there was an Avengers silhouette, a Jurassic Park Dino, and a Weeping Angel in LB3, there was a Dimensions portal in JW, and so on,) I'm wondering if the end credits scene of someone picking up the Vortech brick corresponds to Dimensions 2... Wondering how this will be handled... Will there be a paid update with a new set of story missions? Or another "Starter Pack"-esque set with a new sort of tech for the sequel?

Not a mod, but this probably belongs in the NK TV show discussion thread in Media
-
Ok, thanks for clarifying.
-
It wasn't in the retailers catalogue as far as the pages I saw; perhaps I missed it as those pages weren't leaked... Sorry for the misinformation...
-
That was an "extra" set not included in the initial leaks, so we don't have much info on it other than it's called something along the lines of "King's Mech" and is most likely an exclusive...

A lot of character spots like this though are non canon and don't make much sense anyways... How did the BoM get into the hands of some random mother? I wouldn't count them as canon... -
Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion
DuckBricks replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Jokes aside, that DOES raise a good question... Perhaps the book needed to be activated or awoken from someone within the castle? That's really the only plausible reason, as the book doesn't need transportation - it could just create a monster to bring it around... -
That's interesting... Yeah, no robot angels probably means no DW reference...

Eh, not too sure what to make of this.... On one hand, the trailer already looks more promising/better than Chima, but I'll have to see the first few episodes to make a definitive judgement. Would have preferred the Hagenmans but oh well... -
For those Bionicle fans out there, the bios really remind me of the Toa's personalities... Aaron has a remarkably similar personality as Lewa, and Clay is very similar to Kopaka... Not sure if serious or joking... :D

Lego Ninjago 2016
DuckBricks replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Eh, they're a bit too "power armor" and not "ninja-esque," if you know what I mean. Not that our particular gang has ever exercised much stealth at all in attacks, but the power suits seem more suited to Nexo Knights than Ninjago... -

Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion
DuckBricks replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I feel like this is a mix between pretty serious (Ninjago) and really goofy (Chima). That ending said, the only goofiness I'm seeing from this are the villains, and Ninjago's skeletons were way goofier than these demon type monsters. One think I liked about Chima were the interesting camera angles used in the battle scenes, which I can see some aspects of here, which is great. Fighting, as seen from the trailers, isn't really on par with Ninjago, but I guess it's too early to make a concrete assumption on that... -
I'm just waiting to see if Merlok gets a computer virus and turns evil. That guy basically controls all the tech. He just needs to find a way to get a physical form...
