Lego Ninjago 2016
DuckBricks replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
https://mobile.twitter.com/brothershageman/status/685322725108269056 :) Their twitter account yields so much interesting tidbits - there were talks of a spinoff show centered around the ninja's kids and season 4 (ToE) was supposed to be a space-themed season! Anyway, going back to set discussion, all I need to complete the wave is Airjitsu Battle Grounds, which has been pretty elusive. Apparently my lcoal Target has it though, so I'll swing by sometime. It's not urgent as I'm currently focusing on getting Bionicle duplicates to build the Makuta combi model before everything goes away... -
Looking forward to seeing photos, especially how you contructed the gold horn area... I'm currently stuck on that. Also, if you have a parts list, that would be great! I understand it you don't, though, because that would be tons of work, but I'm sure many members here will appreciate it. (I won't exactly, as I already bought copies of the sets required, but I'm sure others will appreciate it.) Edit: Videos on YT have been popping up showing how to build him... Guess I can figure that out now!

Wrong Place, Wrong Time was mindless fun, but the resolution made absolutely no sense. Destroying the Megaweapon shouod have wiped out the events of almost the entire season prior, where all it did in the episode was take away the weapon... Even the Hagenman Bros joked that they're in prison because they botched this episode. Anyway, I just realized that the Tumbler isn't available at Lego stores! Since I don't really like going to Walmart, guess I'll have to order it... :/ -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

20 CMFs? I both like and hate this - this will mess with my CMF displays even more than the Team GB and Disney Figures did! -

DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Thanks for the info! Yeah, one of the panelists said Greek, then looked to the others to confirm, and he only got shrugs back... One other thing I forgot to mention is that the sets team "likes the idea" of a CMF series centering around characters in the show but not sets...- 4,591 replies

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread

Panel Recap Tidbits: The Tinkerer might be alive The writers still don't know how Zane has powers, but it will be explored in a future episode (that was their answer for anything they didn't know, which I found quite amusing) Hands of Time is Kai-focused A character with the element of Time will be in Hands of Time Other media, like comics, will explain what happenned to the Ultra Dragon and the Ultra Sonic Raider Again, they're listening to the fans re. Garmadon They also don't know how Soto got Nadakhan in the Teapot of Tyran in the first place Again, not everything is gone after Skybound Ninjago "stories" will continue after the movie next year. I assume they mean the TV show, but you never know Morro's name came from his desire to "want more" Nya's name was originally Aya, as she was going to be the master of air, but changed to Nya. It also should have been pronounced "nai-ah" but was prounounced incorrectly during the pilot episodes by the voice cast by mistake. Kai's prototype minifigure had red hair and freckles ;) and is Greek for fire (they weren't 100% sure about the Greek part) Cole's name came from coal, which is found in the earth The process of how Yang turns someone into a ghost will be explained in Day of the Departed Easter eggs planted in Possession and even before that will finally come to fruition during Day of the Departed and Hands of Time The Dark Island Trilogy is semi-canon, meaning it happened sometime between different seasons but won't be referenced in the show. That's all I can recall for now...- 4,591 replies

[MOC] Nexo Knights - Lava Gatehouse Raid
DuckBricks replied to Vorkosigan's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I like it! It has a lot more depth than most sets like this - I like the attempt to fill it up out in the back and yet still leave it open like an official set. I'd buy it! -
Oh yes. I love Nickon, mostly because I really agree with all his Bionicle videos, and this is no different. I have to heartily concur with his sentiments - and face the truth that Gen2 really must have flopped. I did my part, as he said, and bought every set on launch day, but the truth is that people like me who did that only bought them because of our familiarity with Gen1 and the characters.

Lego Ninjago 2016
DuckBricks replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
What's odd is that none of these issues were made known when the sets were out in June in Europe. Perhaps these are US-only issues? On another note, Lego.com's Ninjago page has been updated with a really cool museum section, where there are recaps of characters, vehicles, locations, and weapons available. -
Seems like a fun challenge to recreate this! Can't wait to dig in once I return home to my Bionicle parts. I'm not too pleased with the idea of taking apart sets to make it, but I think I can hodge-podge it from my current CCBS collection and buy some sets on sale...

Can confirm... Don't know why though, as changing the mold makes no sense... Maybe it has something to do with the paint? -

Brickseek says "Not applicable" for some. Does this mean they don't have them or can't sell them? Coincidentally, the only two summer sets they have in stock are two that I own... -

No summer sets to be found at my local TRU... :( -
Now that I've gathered my thoughts, I'd like to share a few sentiments as most people here have been expressing. Bionicle Gen 1 was my childhood. I remember unwrapping canisters for Christmas under the tree, derailing the family vacations to search for toy stores selling Bionicle, and a particularly fond moment of playing with Bionicles on a cruise ship after finding some discontinued sets at a toy store on a land tour. I must have been 8, maybe 9 when my love for Bionicle was the strongest. I'd coerce my parents to watch the movies again and again with me, and even found this little site called Bricklink to order sets I'd missed but seen in the movies. When 2010 rolled around, I was a lot older but still collecting Bionicle. I was, of course, quite sad and disappointed when the line ended, picking up 4 or 5 copies of the horrid Stars sets just to appease my need. However, I knew it had lasted a long, long time - longer than most Lego themes, so I felt a sense of satisfaction as I looked back on its beginnings. It had gone far. So you'd probably guess I was beyond overjoyed when that first display leaked in summer 2014. Despite now being an AFOL, I felt just like a kid again, looking at pictures of the new Bionicle sets I so eagerly wanted to own. By December of 2014, despite my pneumonia, I refreshed and refreshed Brickseek until I finally found the sets in stock at my local Target, whose employees came to know me as the "Adult Bionicle Lover." Within a few days, I had the full lineup. I was amazed at how well-built they were, how CCBS was being used in better ways than I could ever imagine. When the summer months came, and I was away on vacation in the UK, the high prices didn't stop me. I rushed to purchase all the Skellies, flaws and all. December of 2015 and I had the full 2016 lineup, just like the year before. It was this summer when I first started to be worried. I had rushed over to my local Lego store, only to be informed that the line was not selling well and only Toys R Us stores carried the sets. Luckily, there was a TRU down the road, but this time it was different. I struggled to be optimistic about this December, where I told myself I'd surely be getting the 2017 sets, but that optimism failed. A few weeks ago, I had already forgotten my worries. The next two Journey to One episodes were releasing, and I was pumped. There was a new poster, a few trailers, and I had seen the summer sets at different Lego stores. Then the Makuta contest came, showcasing a bunch of new parts, an awesome new mask, and I was sure that my worries were for naught and the line was continuing on. Then came this morning. I checked EB as usual, only to see the facts staring up at me - Bionicle was ending, just as it begun. I rushed to watch the last two episodes. It only confirmed the news. I began to feel anger, sadness, and frustration. I was about to write a long rant when I thought twice and paused to gather my thoughts. Hence, here's what you're reading now. Unsurprisingly, my initial anger has died down, and I'm left with a feeling of emptiness. Gen 2 is gone, just as it begun. From a business standpoint, it makes total sense. If a line is consistently not selling well, it makes sense it was canned. I just wish that we could have gotten one more set of Makuta, with the MOUP and all. But I realize this makes no sense financially for Lego, so I concede. I'll end with a thank you - a thank you to the awesome designers, who brought back so many good memories as I built the sets. A thank you to Volta, to Netflix, to everyone involved with Journey to One. A thank you to the fans here, who readily embraced the line and were integral to the hype surrounding it. Yes, a thank you to Lego, for bringing it back in the first place and despite what others are saying, giving it a LOT of attention - more than several other themes. Thank you for the good memories and amazing sets these past two years, and I look forward to the future of constraction. (and thus concludes what's probably my longest post on Eurobricks)

If Kevin's not in the main pack, it's probably him... Unless they go out on a limb and do the Rowan Logo Ghost... Those are pretty much the only choices...

Huh, mine was fine... Sorry about that! -
Just saw Beyond and would rate it much better than Into Darkness. I felt that Beyond really captured the essence of Star Trek, something that ironically the trailers utterly failed at doing.

I guess it depends on what you find funny. I personally loved the LEGO Movie and found it hilarious, so I like these trailers. Each to their own, I guess...

Lego Ninjago 2016

Just picked up USR, Lloyd's Dragon, and the Rock Roader at Legoland California. I'm really pleasantly surprised by the Rock Roader - it's the land equivalent of swooshable! The USR is great too, but I expected that. My only disappointment was that it didn't come with the ninja hair, which I expected given the Bounty last year. (and I (temporarily) passed on Kryptarium because I thought I would get the new Zane hair!) As for the dragon, I'm actually a tad let down as I was super hyped for it and there were some issues with the wings getting wrinkled arbitrarily. Still an awesome set though! -
