  1. This didn't seem like a budget issue to me - it felt more of a timing issue. For one, the Hagenman brothers were busy writing TrollHunters, so they didn't even write it. Two, since the movie was planned for this time period, Tommy A mentioned this was kind of a rush job - they started it way too late as they weren't planning on making it in lieu of the movie. Agree with your points. This could have been an entire season, and I would have loved to see just an extra few minutes for a ninja team vs villain team battle, but alas, it is what is is. I'm not worried about Hands of Time though - Tommy A says they have full time to work on it and it will be the most emotionally complex season ever - something I'm really hyped for. One thing that was good though - the Royal Blacksmith songs! I so wish they could be released online as mp3s!
  2. Season 7, Hands of Time, focuses on Kai and Nya discovering the secrets and mystery surrounding the disappearance of their parents. I wouldn't judge the show's quality on a mere special. Skybound was fantastic, and Hands of Time is really being hyped up to be fantastic.
  3. According to Tommy A, they're not Serpentine, so I have no clue what they're supposed to be....
  4. This may be a bit problematic - the CN app has blocked screen recording, but I'll try to work my way around it.
  5. I'll do what I can to post a 720p version straight from the CN app.
  6. Just watched the HD version on TV... Boy, what a difference HD makes! I still agree it was really rushed (no big surprise) and I still wish there was a final villain team vs ninja team battle at the end, but hearing everything in good quality made it so much better - especially the soundtrack. I came in not expecting new music and was very pleasantly surprised. Jay and Michael really outdid themselves - the music has a haunting quality and each new piece was stellar. I await their eventual release...
  7. 9PM Pacific Time, according to the CN schedule. I'll watch out for it then, although that seems really late...
  8. No, those and two others comprise a team of bootleg knights who are riffs on celebrities, such as Shia LaBeouf, Justin Beiber, The Rock, and more...
  9. While I have no information about the season, Tommy A mentioned it is still being written, so at this point, it could go either way. I am real looking forward to all these stories about the ninja's ancestors, though.
  10. On another note, I'm not sure if this is the same for all stores, but my local Lego store has almost all of the summer Nexø Knights sets on sale; Axl's Tower Carrier was $55, Macy's vehicle was $12, etc. Sadly, Jestro's fortress wasn't on sale, unlike pretty much all of the others. Just a heads up if you've held off on the sets for now in lieu of other offerings and were waiting for a sale like me...
  11. Cole's parents are actually going to be in the season after Hands of Time, and Zane's past will be explored past Hot as well...
  12. New info from Tommy A - the next season after HoT is going to delve into Cole's family past, especially his mother, and the HoT episode "A Line in the Sand" will center around Jay, surprisingly. He's also given what he's seen of HoT a 10/10, making it better in his mind than all other outings of Ninjago. This makes me very excited...
  13. I would say, despite the criticism, it is a must watch. I like most of the action and the interactions between characters are ready spot-on, especially if you're familiar with the past characters which it seems that you are, given your fan status.
  14. Took a while to collect my thoughts on DoD, but here's a summary of good and bad. As a summary, I understand that the project was started really late, and I commend the writers, design team, and animators for putting out a great story. I only wish there was a final villain team vs ninja team battle at the end, which would have lead to increased interaction among villains and ninja. While it felt really rushed, I understand there was only 45 minutes to convey a new story, which was done more than adequately. What this really hypes me for is Hands of Time - Tommy A has been really championing it as a really great story, and it seems that a lot of effort is being poured into it, which makes me very, very excited.
  15. In other news, The Rift Whip was released today on itunes, but the other songs are yet to be released.
  16. Tried looking for the episode online, but couldn't find anything but horrible cam job clips... As far as the music goes, I don't get the hate for it - the sneak peeks have me excited, especially for the track titled Day of the Departed. Edit: alright, I caved in and watched the first 30 minutes or so. I'm liking it alright so far, but cam jobs make everything look worse and it does seem a bit rushed. However, the villain interactions are spot-on and hilarious, and Pythor is entertaining as usual. Looking forward to seeing the rest! Edit 2: just watched the entire thing - without getting too much into the details, it did feel very, very rushed, and almost like Shadow of Ronin - since Cole is telling us the story, things are truncated and summarized to tell a concise, campfire story.
  17. Wow! Hope somebody records and posts it up.
  18. Yeah, they're lightning monsters as confirmed by the app.
  19. Tried to clean it up/brighten it... Here's another teaser:
  20. The app has a new teaser for 2017, and confirms lightning monsters.
  21. Yeah, those clips were really intriguing... Making me really hyped for DotD! I found it a bit odd that nobody noticed when Cole vanished, though... Hope there's a bigger explanation behind that...
  22. Looks very, very fake. That being said, I wouldn't mind some of those figs being in the series and wouldn't be surprised if some showed up...
  23. I know! That was a really bizarre fun fact...
  24. Yeah - Worked for me on mobile. I'll post screenshots in a sec Edit: Darn! They took it down! I'll post screenshots of what I saved from yesterday, as well as interesting descriptions. Here's one out of 20 pictures - go my my Flickr to see the rest (apologies as it's really time-consuming to post all 20 manually. And tidbits: The Elemental Weapons were discarded by the ninja, but a "superfan" found them and started his own rival museum. I confirmed this with Tommy Andreasen, and he said it's canon but he doesn't like it (I don't either, the Spirit Coves explanation was much better) Morro misread a scroll in Domu and went to the Caves of Despair instead of underwater, where he was killed by a kethanol geyser. Skulkin did not use axes very often and the museum mistakenly gave Samukai an axe. Pythor wonders what the antivenom in his staff does, as it is just a prop, but is too busy to try it out. Yang is completely insane and lost his mind as a ghost trapped in the temple. That's about all I can recall... Hope this helps!
  25. The Ninjago website has been updated with a new Hall of Villainy exhibit, featuring new DotD stills and character backstory that, while new and interesting, contradicts Tommy Andreasen in some manners. Thus, I'm taking the text with a grain of salt...
