  1. The only thing I wanted to buy in the sale was out of stock before it began. The thing dropped in price twice but I never saw it in stores and it was never in stock online. As for the other sales, nothing has caught my eye. I've only bought one set in the last year though, a modular and a few minifigures.
  2. My Lego Duplo Zoo. No idea when I got it but I remember having it when I was very young. First Lego was just a basic bucket. I didn't really have any big sets apart from the Duplo zoo and the house as a kid. As for the sets. First ones were the little MacDonalds ploybags free with Happy Meals back in the early 90s.
  3. I don't have everything on here, but a majority of my collection is logged. http://brickset.com/sets/ownedby-Zanki I'm missing so many minifigures though :/ http://brickset.com/minifigs/ownedby-Zanki
  4. Yep, already done. It's a huge shame, the wall there is really small, smallest I've ever seen and it sucks that I couldn't get a pick a brick. It's the second time I've been able to visit the year and both times I've come back empty handed.
  5. Why don't you just sign up for a new account? Use a misspelled version of your name and ship the Lego to a friends address (one which isn't connected to your old account). They probably won't notice and then you can buy Lego again. Problem solved.
  6. Well I went to the Lego store today and ended up not getting a pick a brick (got some awesome stuff though!). There was nothing good there. I even brought a few cups as well :(. There were just no 1x# apart from 2x1 flats. I really wanted some more bricks to finish my buildings but there just wasn't anything for me. I was very disappointed but it's what I expect from the Milton Keynes store. I'm hoping that sometime soon I can hit the stores in and around London again. Watford isn't bad and neither are the stores I go to in London. Liverpool also isn't half bad the few times I've been.
  7. I was so excited after seeing everyone's recent pick a brick hauls until I remembered, the store I'm going to has the worst selection I've ever seen (the stores in and around London are awesome and so was the one I went to in America). Milton Keynes seems to be just as lame as ever if the wall of bricks website is anything to go by :( http://wallofbricks.com/pab-display.php?country=UK&pab_store_id=11 I was really looking forwards to getting some of those flat tan bricks or even some 2x1 bricks, which they don't seem to sell now. This is my closest store as well so I'm pretty disappointed. I really hope Lego decides to open a store in Birmingham, then I wouldn't have to spend £16 on a train ticket every time I want a pick a brick tub.
  8. I found the series 14 minifigures in WHSmiths today but they were all sold out, plus I pissed a ton of people off in the queue squeezing past them to look at the empty box. Glad I didn't wait to see it :/
  9. Also, check out Asda, they've got a good sale going on. I got two sets I really wanted half price.
  10. My city has Pirates, Space Police, Galaxy Squad, Adventures (is that the one with the Chinese castle?), Harry Potter, Castle, Friends, Superhero, Ninjargo. I guess I use pretty much everything. I haven't found a place to put my old 90s alien bugs or the new ones though.
  11. Thanks for the heads up about the Argos sale. The Museum Break is gone, but I was able to get a Star Wars and Lego Movie set cheap! These make up for the lack of a sale after Christmas.
  12. I found a 2009 polybag in my local Toys R Us today. I don't know how it ended up on the shelf six years later, especially since in the UK it was only available as a Daily Mirror Promotion.
  13. Nice MOC! The figure thing is fine as well. I have Megablock Power Rangers in my city (the old ones (PRNS-PRSPD), not the crappy new ones that don't look like Lego minifigures, I'm still upset about that), I don't see the issue with using non-Lego/fake Lego minifigures if Lego haven't made them available.
  14. This sucks. There is no Lego store near me and all the sets online are already sold out. I was waiting until the sale to pick up a new set :(
  15. I made this MOC from the Friends Bakery and Smoothie Bar sets. I never have enough flat pieces to make a single coloured floor. I know it's not as good as the other stuff you guys make but I kind of like this one.
  16. I got set 4432 for £4.50, second one I've been able to grab for that price!
  17. I was finally able to get myself a Grand Emporium (my first modular!). I was lucky enough to grab it at the Lego shop in Liverpool, last one on the shelf. The guy at the register actually mentioned it was the last one in stock and they wouldn't be getting anymore in as I was buying it.
  18. Gift also doesn't get you out of it entirely in the UK, I think there is a £30 limit or something because I've been charged before now on a gift I've received. The best you can do is ask a seller to undervalue your product so it's under £13, but if something happens and it gets lost, you won't have insurance on the item which is a big deal.
  19. Unless you have a friend over there who is willing to gift you stuff you are pretty much stuck. I tend to have stuff shipped to my friend if I know the extra postage charge will be less then whatever I will pay in import tax if I'm caught, but if you order from amazon.com you will pay the tax on their end and it's refunded if you aren't taxed on import, so you will be taxed a few pounds, but you wont get the stupid extra £8 charge from the Royal Mail. I don't mind paying taxes on imports, it's the £8 Royal Mail fee that annoys me. It's even worse if an item comes UPS or something.
  20. Same thing happened to me, they only had the TMNT bag, they never got today's in either.

    My Lego City

Thanks :) I'm glad you like the Police Station, I'm very proud of it. I think I wrote the backstory of it in another thread on here at some point. That is the Egyptian temple, I love that set, it's just way too awesome. I actually use it as my cities museum. I'm hoping to expand the set in the future to make it more museum like. Did you notice Sebulba behind the table? It's not a shame about the dog. I really wanted to get a dog and if putting most of my city away is the compromise then so be it. All my custom stuff is safely stowed away on a bookcase so there wasn't much fuss caused. I just had to make sure I bagged all my sets up together so the bricks didn't get lost/mixed up. Thanks :) Yeah, the city isn't exactly how I want it, but it's slowly expanding and getting better. I can't wait to put the new buildings I half finished the other day with the others and see what they look like together. I would finish them completely, but I'm limited on my bricks. I don't have enough flat pieces of slanties to make a roof for either of them. I did have some mechs in the street to fight my bugs, but I took them out, there just wasn't enough room. The dog is already trained, but I'm not rebuilding the city just because there isn't the space now. She's a very good dog, but I don't want my Lego to get damaged if she got upstairs so for now, the city is pretty much bagged away. It did get dusty on the floor, but it wasn't that bad, the stuff I kept at the side in my bedroom was dirtier if I forgot to give it a quick clean. Thanks :)

    My Lego City

This was my Lego city. I had to dismantle it two months ago because I got a dog, but my favourite buildings are safely away on the shelf. A lot of the buildings have been modded or are my own design. Unfortunately I don't have too many bricks so I'm kind of limited with my custom builds. Overview of the entire city with my elevated railway line. The Hogwarts Express has been modded to work on the old track with the addition of an old motor. My railway station is one of my favourite parts. I modded set 8077. I got the set cheap in a sale and knew instantly it would make an awesome train station. I love my merged Space Police Station/Police Station. I hope I can extend it in the future to hold more mechs and have a proper landing strip for Space Police vehicles. The City Hospital is a merger of a Police Station and the Helicopter Rescue set. I knew I wanted a large hospital, but since none had been released in a long time, I had to make my own. Hogwarts Castle. This is two castles combined to make my cities school/castle. I did have a real castle but I took it apart to build my library. My Japanese castle, I love this thing. I also have an old Orient Expedition Dragon Fortress as well but I somehow missed it when I took the pictures. It's just out of the shot. Looking down the main street; A few of my custom half modulars; And these are the last two buildings I've been working on. I picked up the bricks from a pick at brick wall when I was in California a few weeks ago. Some of the bricks I have never seen in a PaB wall in the UK. I got them because they had none of the sets I wanted in stock, no modulars, none of the Star Wars sets, not even Guardians of the Galaxy, I was upset but with the bricks I got I could finish these off. This wasn't the entire thing, I didn't get pictures of everything before I took it down but it's most of it.
  23. To make Lego scale to each of it's sets you have to mod them, sure it sucks if you don't have the bricks or hate modding, but it's fun once you get into it. Go get a good pick a brick tub or two for some good bricks and get modding if you want the smaller city sets to mix with the modulers or just match each other. If you want city sets that match, look into the different themes. Friends sets are amazing for Lego City. I love the two sets I got recently, the Cake and Juice shops. One is now modded, the other isn't far behind. I own no modulars, but I have built my own so I want them to be larger to mix with them. The thing is though, Lego isn't designed for adults. We have our lines, the city, friends etc are designed for kids. Kids don't need everything to match or to have cars with somewhere to go. I didn't as a little kid. I had a big bucket of cars as a kid and played with them for hours, the bigger cars that dwarfed everything else were my favourites even though they didn't match. I had Polly Pockets, I had the cased ones and the house ones and it didn't bother me that they were designed differently, they still played the same. Then there where the random Power Rangers and Mighty Max micro playsets that joined them, one set that didn't go with them. I made it work because kids have a good imagination.
  24. Wow, this looks amazing! How much is this going to cost you to build? I would love to make it myself, I've been a fan of the show since it started airing in the early 90s. Also, the Q-Rex will eat the Dragonzord for lunch! (I hope you get the reference!)
  25. I managed to grab set 4432 today in Morrisons for £6. I spotted it on the shelf near the back and grabbed it. I knew it was an old set, thought it might have been reduced and got lucky at the till!
