  1. I love the sets and have loads, but the minifigures are so appealing. I hunted out most of mine the other day and counted over 400 of them. I must have at least 100 more or so because I haven't pulled them all out of my sets and there are still quite a few lurking in random places around my house. The figures make up any town or real build. Having the figures makes you as much as a collector then having the huge sets. In other collector fandoms, some people only collect one part of a line instead of it all. No one calls them out on it. It's all the same thing in the end.
  2. The 1999 castles. My mum refused to buy them for me because they were too expensive. I really, really wanted an awesome castle. Those where the best I think. I still want to get those sets, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. The biggest set I had until I was 15 was the 6907 Sonic Stinger. I loved that toy. My mum got it me for Christmas, then decided it wasn't a good idea because I liked it far too much and it was a boys toy (she always had a thing about me playing with boys toys, who cares?) I think I feel worse about the Quasar Saber and Transdaggers from the Power Rangers Lost Galaxy line. I held both in my hands in Toys R Us once. Only once. My mum refused to buy them, I begged her. She caved a week later and went back. They where gone. For some reason they only got one shipment and nowhere else was selling them. I still haven't managed to buy either.
  3. I find it funny. When I went into the toy store here today, I went straight over to the Power Ranger stuff to see if the Megaforce line had come in. As I did, this woman stepped between me and the toys and wouldn't let me near because her kid was looking at it. I was pretty annoyed, but walked on since it was still Super Samurai. Very strange reaction to a girl wanting to look at toys. I went to the Lego isle where a kid was complaining to his mum that he didn't want the little Friends sets because it was for girls. Poor little boy, his mum just didn't get it and told him to point out the boys stuff. He just said Friends was for girls, the rest for boys. The kid ended up with a little police set. I have randomly helped kids find minifigures they wanted. A poor older boy, maybe 12/13, he really wanted one and complained he kept getting cheerleaders and hated them. I had found the figure he wanted already. I told the kid that the pack I had was the one he wanted and gave it to him, his mum asked me how I knew, so I explained it to her. The kid opened it as soon as he bought it and was so happy.
  4. I had a huge lego haul this Christmas. Hogwarts Castle x 2 Hogwarts Express (bought as a three for the price of two between me and my boyfriend) Medievil village Power Miners 8191 And a few small lego sets that could fit in the stockings : D
  5. Went into Liverpool today. Game station have season 2 minifigures (never seen them in game station before but there you go). WH Smiths don't have anything yet, same with The Entertainer. John Lewis have the new Ninjago stuff but no season three minifigures.
  6. When I was a kid, I really wanted the Quasar Saber and Transdaggers (Power Rangers Lost Galaxy Toys) and me and my mum went everywhere to try and track them down. The problem was we did find them, once. I begged her for them, she refused to buy them and them regretted it later and tried to help me find them. Still don't have the toys and it still bothers me. Same with the Turbo navigator, but she refused to buy that because for some reason the toy was also a gun and she said girls can't play with guns (yeah, that didn't last too long). Since then, I did purposly go to CeX in Hemel Hempstead the other day to pick up a game I really wanted but couldn't find anywhere else. Wasn't really out of my way though since I was staying there for Christmas.
  7. I love lego and so does my boyfriend. We have tons of sets we've bought together since we started going out. Before then, I only had one large castle and a few small sets from when I was younger. It was easy for me to get back into lego as I have always loved it, but I became too old to play with it like I did as a child, so I didn't get anymore sets. Eventually my collecting of a series I had loved for years decreased (the merchandise went to crap) I ended up getting more lego. The lego gives us something fun to do together and creating something new for the city is a lot of fun.
  8. Woo, just got myself a hogwarts express and two hogwards castles!!! Thanks for the heads up! My boyfriend is going to love this present (and so am I!)!!!
  9. I know this has probably been answered somewhere in the thread, but I can't find it. Have the figures appeared in the UK yet? I would be looking like I was in the summer for them, but I'm working all the time now so any information would be awesome!
  10. I was on CITV as a kid. I went to see the Power Rangers in Tesco car park and ended up on TV. It was so much fun, got my picture taken with a guy in a Ranger costume and ended up on TV with a group of other kids. I think I also ended up on the BBC news in the background after some idiot had seriously hurt himself in the shoping center in Coventry. I was also in a movie a few years ago. I ended up playing some bad chinese guys henchman. We had to run into a room, pretend to understand chinese, search for the good guys and get shot. We also ended up as part of the stunt team as well. It was so much fun, but I have no idea what happened to that movie, it was shown at a few film festivals but after that we heard nothing.
  11. Just a heads up, there are hundreds of series two figures at the Lego store in Milton Keynes. I went there yesterday and picked up a few more figures (I wanted two more spartans, another Pharaoh and two more Karate guys).
  12. I have always believed in the paranormal such as spirits. My family used to tell me stories about a farm they used to live on which was haunted but I only went there as a baby and don't remember it. I do remember some things. Throughout my life I have experienced little things, some of which have scared me, others have made me feel happy and some are just plain strange. When I was really little before we moved house, I used to dream of a man a few nights a week. He used to talk to me, ask me things before asking me to go with him and everytime I told him I wanted to stay with my mum. Those dreams stopped once I moved out of that house when I was 4/5. Now when I think about it, I think it was my dad asking me to go with him. I was watching a paranormal show and a woman was saying people had asked her to go with them and she had nearly died when she agreed. I guess my dad wanted me to stay with him, strange but I haven't had the dream since I was really little. A few years later, I woke up to see a huge black figure standing next to my bed. I know I wasn't dreaming because I was wide awake, it was bright and sunny in my room and I hid under the covers. Once my heart rate went back down I peaked out and there was nothing there. I got up instantly and went into my mums room, she was still asleep and no one else was in the house. Another strange thing, which I still can't explain. This only happened once. I came back from school, let myself into the house and ran upstairs to the toilet. Now, the TV was switched off and unplugged and I was on the toilet when the thing turned itself on. I don't know how it happened because no one could have snuck into the house and turned it on without me hearing. That one was very strange. One night, I was woken up feeling something moving around my bed. I had no pets at the time and nothing could have come into the house. On my bed, one of my soft bears crawled on top of me and slid off the bed onto the floor. I did reach down and pick it up, and it wasn't any different to how it normally was. I didn't go back to sleep for a while after that. That was scary and I took all my soft toys apart from Noah out of my room the next day. Never had that happen again, but it was strange. When I was younger I had many pets, and a lot have come back to visit me, normally the same night they die. I remember the night Dexter, me second guinea pig died. He stratched my leg and ran off, waking me up in the process. Masumi, one of my first gerbils came back and was desperate to get back into his cage with Kenji, but I had to tell him to move on. Merrick, my syrian hamster came back and refused to leave my room. Kimberly, my rabbit, was the scariest. Before she died, every night she would wake me up, thumping her feet in her hutch. A year later I woke up and heard her thumping her feet. I knew it was her, nothing could have made that noise. Her hutch was long gone and the only pets I had where fish at the time. This really scared me and I didn't want to go back to sleep but I eventually did. When one of my stick insects, Eric died, I know this is strange, but I woke up and was chasing him across the ceiling of my bedroom, grabbing at him, trying to catch him. The next morning he was dead in his tank. His friend Wes died a few days later. He hadn't escaped his tank, I think he was just saying goodbye. One dream I did have made me realise something, my dreams can come true. I had dream of my cousins house. I had gone out into the garden, it was a cloudy day, the strange part was there was a circle of stones in the flower bed, no idea why it was there. About a month later, my cousins cat had to be put to sleep and my cousin had made the circle of stones around the grave. It kind of freaked me out but I didn't say anything about it. The next time something happened was paranormal. We went to stay in a woods owned by a family which have lived in those parts for years. There was a story that the ghost only showed itself to those in their family. The guide camp started out normal and on the second morning me and my friend went into the woods on our own before everyone else got up to go get wood for breakfast. It was freaky in the woods, but I wasn't too bothered and decided to scare my friend who eventually ran off to camp and I just kept walking back. It was strange and I was sure I saw something out the corner of my eye a few times but didn't mention anything to anyone. The next few days where quiet and I went back to the tent I was sharing with some younger guides (I didn't have my own at the time so I had to share) and found them all crying. I asked what was wrong and eventually they told me they saw something in the woods and it was the same thing I had seen out the corner of my eyes. I sad nothing more to them, I hadn't told anyone and had only tried to scare my friend so this was strange. The last day came around and I decided to go ghost hunting. I went to the edge of the woods and could hear footsteps in front of me moving quickly. I followed the sound with two friends and ended up in a clearing. I sat down and asked if there was anything there could it give me a sign. I got a sign. A white mist appeared (this was the middle of summer, hot day with no mist anywhere) and just hovered in front of me. My friends screamed and ran away but I just sat and watched. It didn't scare me. I said thank you to it and it blew away in a large breeze which came from nowhere. About three years later, my mum was looking into our family tree and found a link which meant we are related to the family. So the ghost was showing itself to me because I was related to it. I used to go to my friends house, he lived on a farm on an area known as the moss by locals. My family used to live out there and had tales of it being haunted and I would always try to find something in the woods where my mum saw something but nothing happened. My friends house was strange though. His family lived the top floor of the house and I always stayed in his room when I was there. One night, I woke up and some random brown curly haired woman had opened his bedroom door and was watching us before turning around and walking out, closing the door. I was really tired, but when I woke up the next morning and asked my friend, he told me he had seen it too and thought it was just a dream. Pretty freaky. We asked if someone else had been in the house when his parents had got home but they hadn't come into the room at all. Another time there, we where sitting at his computer, browsing the internet when all of a sudden it looked like the wallpaper in the room was caving in on us. We both jumped at it was gone, like nothing had happened. I asked if he had seen that, he nodded but didn't want to talk about it because it was his room and he didn't want to be scared in there. When I was in my first year of uni, my nan died. I wasn't close to her or anything but the night she died, she came to see me. I don't know if I was awake or asleep but she told me she was scared, she was lost, scared and couldn't find my grandad. She also told me she didn't want to be cremated, but she was. I had dreams about her, she had huge black bags under her eyes, was very pail and thin and she kept trying to tell me things. I just thought in the morning it was nothing, I went to classes and went back to my halls when my mum called. She told me my nan had died in the night and her body had gone missing. Everything made sense, her telling me she was lost. I later told my mum about the dream and she went very pail when I explained how she looked. I hadn't seen her for years because she was in a home for people who had strokes and I didn't want to go. She wasn't interested in me anyway. My mum said I described her exactly how my mum had seen her a few days before she died. It was pretty freaky and I didn't know why she came to me, but my mum said it was because I was the only one she felt she could come to like that, because I had always believed in the paranormal. This year, my grandad died. The day he died, my mum came back from work early and bumped in our neighbour who asked her why she was home. She told him her dad had died and he looked shocked and told her he could have sworn my gradads car was parked in front of our house an hour ago. He knew my grandads numberplate as well which freaked my mum out. Good thing for me was my grandad didn't visit me. I told my mum he hadn't and she said she wasn't suprised, his favourites where my cousins so if there was going to be any visits it would be to them. The last thing wasn't really paranormal but was interesting. Now, I had a dream about a month ago that I would find the series two minifigures (don't laugh, this is awesome!) on the 20th in Coventry. I told my boyfriend and he didn't believe me. I was walking around Coventry on the 20th and found the minifigures in WH Smiths. Turns out my dreams really can come true, he's still skepticle but I don't care. It was pretty awesome. I guess I have some kind of ability, like my mum and nan had, but I don't really know. I think its just a fun thing to have sometimes. I don't really like sensing stuff, especially when I'm on my own like the other morning. I had to walk to training at 5am on my own and I was fine until I passed one house. I don't know if there was anything there or if I just freaked myself out but it wasn't fun : D
  13. I got the toy shop on Sunday and its one of my favourite sets. I have a lot of buildings but this one is beautiful, puts the creator houses to shame.
  14. I checked out the lego keyrings the other day but didn't buy them. I wanted this figure as well but the lower quality of it put me off. My old lego king I had years ago was really good quality compared to the ones on sale now.
  15. I was the same way, I managed to memorise all the figures I wanted and could just pick them out. For the new ones I know the Karate guy and Spartan well since I wanted them the most (I have my dojo now but I still need more for my army!).
  16. As the title says. I want to go tomorrow, but if the store isn't open, it would be a wasted trip. Thanks for any answers in advance.
  17. I just stood in the queue area hunting through the plastic container. My friend just kept telling people we were not in the que and no one seemed bothered. The people behind the tills gave us strange looks at first until they realised we where looking for the ones we wanted. I don't think there are any Karate figures left, if there are I missed it. I really want to create my clubs Dojo so I really want those figures.
  18. They are in one of the holders in the queue area upstairs. We were there around 2 as well. I'm heading back tomorrow to pick up the two figures I didn't get, I read the codes wrong which is annoying but oh well. Also, if you still need series one, they still have a load in Argos, just ask for them at customer servies and they will bring the box out.
  19. If your in Coventry you must have just missed them because there where loads left when I left. They are around the tills, I wouldn't have seen them if I wasn't looking.
  20. They are in WHSmiths here too.
  21. Series two is now in my city, but I'm not saying where because there are still a few I need to pick up (but I have all the karate guys I could get my hands on). I managed to get everything bar the mexican and the ringmaster. I accidentally got an extra Vampire, making it three vampires and an extra traffic cop which I'm not bothered about.
  22. This is me with some of my Karate club during a weekend course in Edinburgh. I'm the only girl who went. I'm on the front row, far right. This was taken right after our 2 1/2 hour grading in Wutan Kung Fu, a few months ago, so none of us look our best. I got my purple sash in this grading which is like a black belt in another style of martial arts. This is our silly picture. I'm on the left of my instructor who I am threatening to punch : D
  23. I now have two gerbils; This is Jen with her sister Tori who died earlier this year of a tumor. Jen is the black one, Tori is the one on the ladder. Hajime when she was a baby : D Hajime and Jen started living together after Jen's sister died. Took a few weeks for them to accept each other in the split cage but they are living happily together now. This is Scout, my rescue winter white russian dwarf hamster; This time last year, this was my group of gerbils; Kenji died of old age. Billy had one stroke in September, recovered then started fitting in December before he died. Tori had a tumor.
  24. Series three of these figures looks good, but not as good as series two. Right now I'm on the hunt for series two which hasn't appeared in Coventry yet. I'm thinking of asking in Argos today if they are going to get them in, and possibly buying some more season one's since they are still in stock there (they have more than one box left but since they aren't advertising them no one knows they are there). Right now I'm really enjoying the themes and can't wait to get the Karate guy. This is the must get out of the series two just so I can make my own Dojo for them. I really hope they will relelase Shaolin or something in the later sets and carry on the martial arts theme.
  25. No series two minifigs in Hamley's, London. There are boxes full of season one everywhere, priced at £3 each. The prices for lego and most other toys are insane. They have really gone up in price in the last year or so.
