  1. Thanks, that does help for that issue! The 2nd issue I've taken some pics here. I don't see how the flat 1x2 can be flush with the line that breaks the whole section. Due to that grey 1x2 behind it it has to be one stud left or right of it.
  2. The section that gets built in steps 795 and 796 - how does that attach to the larger structure shown in 800? On the part of the picture facing the user it shows the 1x2 smooth piece dead center in step 800. But behind that is a normal 1x2 but that means the way this shows being built it can only be off center left or right. edit: After looking at it for the 20th time I see that step 797 calls for two 1x2s but you can't see where the 2nd goes. That must be the issue but I have no idea where to place that second 1x2 to allow that middle orientation in 800. Thanks for your time!
  3. Looks great! 4 foot wide wings? Hmm how to display it is a good question!
  4. No problem. I also thing the front landing gear needs to be a bit more structurally connected to the framework also. It only touches a 2x4 amount of space and it needs to hold up all the weight. I've had it break off multiple times while putting front plates on. Luckily the side plates are strong so far it has just landed. :)
  5. That was it. Thanks for the reply :)
  6. I moved forward so got a lot done but got up to 675 which is the hammerhead section again so I thought i would try the 488 or head side panels again. I just cannot get them on. I tried using the pins on the panel side but I just can't seem to get them on clean (or at all). I'll have to keep thinking on it I guess.
  7. Even if you miss out it will be in stock throughout the next few months.
  8. Can you elaborate? Thanks! edit : In regards to extending the pins on 488. It is not connected yet lol
  9. I've spent 45 min on step 488 (which is putting one side of the hammerhead shaped cockpit on. Hopefully it just works tomorrow. Posted so if anyone else has frustration at that step they know they weren't the only ones banging their heads. lol
  10. Looks great! Thanks for sharing!
  11. Teach me senpai! :) I did sort the pieces twice and one way was significant cheaper but I have no idea how I did it. This was only my 2nd time ordering a large group of pieces - I'll have to try your method next time.
  12. @azanderk I just started building this set! One suggestion I have is in the parts list all the internal stuff is marked as "not applicable". I understand the reason was to allow people to save money and have any color for those structure items that won't be seen BUT personally I did not realize the list did that and it has been a bit tougher at the beginning stages to determine which pieces I should use at the start vs. what i need for the outer layers. Bricklink just picked colors for those items based on price. I've had to go to the list for a lot of part types and separate out the amount of colored pieces needed and then I know the extra can be used as the n/a pieces. Thanks!
  13. It seems easy enough to just open all the bags of a set at once if you want to up the complexity.Iit is always easier to make things more challenging for yourself then it is for someone not as gifted in building to simplify it. :)
  14. Great build. great story and cool use of parts. That plant in the corner is cool!
  15. It is very sturdy. I did not have an issue moving it around the house for pictures in one piece. My neck/head connection seems to be much tighter then Cjd's so it must be the age of the pieces used for that neck joint maybe? I need one piece for the knee that I did not get. Very enjoyable build and great instructions (B49). Thanks!
  16. I have all of Marko's books so far but this is the first one I've been able to get the pieces for. About halfway done. It has been fun :)
  17. Purchased, thanks!
  18. Great job I'll definitely be purchasing the instructions!
  19. I'll say that I'm disappointed none of the buildings were selected. Sure some quarter selections had only 1 or zero were selected but that was also out of 4 or 5 choices.
  20. To get back on topic - I think plenty of AFOLs will enjoy these. I enjoy building Lego stuff. I like the look of Lego aesthetic. I would rather look at a Lego SW ship then a plastic model of a SW ship. I don't mind paying for a cool mosaic to build just like I'd rather buy instructions for fan made sets then figure out how to build it myself. I think plenty of Lego fans will buy these. I'm glad non-Lego fans will buy them also! If Lego did not try to branch out every so often with new products people would just be playing with Lego wooden trucks right now.
  21. That is funny about the playsets because I wished they had a series in the vein of the helmets that were just spaceships. No minfigs. Just spaceships and some type of elevated base. It would be a good opportunity to put sets out there that aren't the main ships and people won't complain about the minifigures in the set. :)
  22. Wow that looks great! I'd love to build a Hammerhead one day!
  23. If it does not use an app how is expected to sound like a piano?
