  1. Took advantage of this today. I bought the 9398 for 199.99 and the Lego city Museum Break for 82.99. I got 41.50 off the cheaper item so my total was 241.48 I would have bought a more expensive second set, but that was the one my kid wanted. Adding these two sets up on Lego.com is 269.98 so i ended up saving 28.50 overall. FYI walmart has had a couple of sets on for up to 24% off. I just picked up the 42009 there for 174.99
  2. +1 for tiles on the doors and green headlight delete. Amazing work!
  3. Ah man those are awesome! How much for a pair Zmei_Gorini4? Totally need these on my 'mog!
  4. Spectacular. Very nostalgic for me as well as my dad used to own a truck sales company in Idaho and I remember a lot of color schemes like this Kenworth. 10/10
  5. Thanks Pat. I'm very humbled by the outstanding attachments you all have made. I hope to build the B model by ordering parts off brinklink etc but I'm saving up for the MKII mobile crane currently. Here are some photos. I'm sure they seem very rudimentary to the master builders in here but I'm just getting started! :-) I guess you could call it a prototype. Of course I was lacking longer Technic beams which would have helped for my mounting hinge points as I wanted them to be rock solid. I was lucky i had that donor hero factory kit. Unfortunately the pieces from that kit are white/light gray and most are very short. what long pieces they have are singles in different colors. http://www.flickr.com/photos/117005685@N07/ I should mention that I wanted to keep the height no more than 1 stud higher than stock which I accomplished. The switch is run off the front line for the Unimog, but eventually I'll add in a switch so that both are operational.
  6. I did indeed. I have very limited "new" studless technic pieces so my mod had to be very simple. I saw earlier in this thread a very nice 3 way mod with sub frame. Also I do want to add motors later so I wanted to leave the center of the chassis free.
  7. Hi guys. New to Eurobricks. A lot of amazing mods in in this thread! I liked an early one of doing the tilt bed so I decided to make that my first mod. My last technic set was the 8860 chassis from like '82 which I just put back together (still had almost all the pieces). The unimog was a joy to build. Here's my pneumatic dump. I used parts from a hero factor kit as they were the only other recent technic parts I had. The pneumatic ram is from an old mid 80's set (maybe the first pneumatic kit?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko5Si_immTk
