  1. The Invisible Hand project has reached 9,000 supporters. At the rate it's going, I'm sure it'll make 10,000 before May 5th.
  2. I look forward to both!
  3. We can now rule out the Exo Suit for the exclusive set coming May 15th — it's not out until August.
  4. Now there's an idea.
  5. Thanks for sharing your opinion. I've been planning to pick up Vulk as my first one for the same reason you mentioned. I've heard it said by multiple people that Shuff is a favourite, but I can't see why, going by images. Maybe it's one of those cases where you need to see it first-hand for it to have an effect.
  6. I'd love to see these if you're willing to share your creations later on. Which ones are you most drawn to? And are there any that you find weaker than the rest?
  7. Precisely. I know for myself, the T-Rawket Sky Strike looks average at best and I consider it overpriced (even taking away Canadian markup), but the exclusive minifigs in that set keep calling out to me.
  8. Thanks for sharing this. Been eagerly anticipating some news on the festivities. Being that this flyer covers from April 28th, I'm wondering if there are other promos planned specific to the three-day window shown in the store calendar. I'm actually holding out for a sale on the microfighters next month, but if it ends up being only 15%, it wouldn't overly sway me. Hopefully we hear of more news soon.
  9. A museum modular would be a thrill for me to put together. No doubt the nature of it would inspire me to add my own exhibits.
  10. Yeah, you're right about that. If it were up to me and there could only be a single set rather than a whole new theme, I'd want a playset — Marlinspike Hall is the natural choice, but I do like the idea of the palace scene shown here. Knowing the CUUSOO projects that have been successful, they'd probably go for a vehicle. In that case, I can't think of anything else it could be except the seaplane, though I too would think it to be a missed opportunity if that's all LEGO wrote for a Tintin rendition.
  11. Going by Brickset, you can find them with Vulk and Teslo. http://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6060732
  12. I'd like that very much, though I'm not counting on it.
  13. That's a good deal. At that price, I would've picked up two also. A better alternative than getting the army sets.
  14. I'd probably go crazy if they ever did a Tintin wave (I'd be thrilled with a single set -- c'mon, CUUSOO!). I'd much rather it be based on the comics than just the film since it would offer more range (think Explorers on the Moon, with potential City crossover). Anyway, I like some of your ideas. I'd think a set highlighting Bianca Castafiore would be appropriate: theatre setting, perhaps with a backstage dressing room? And having Calculus in a set would be mandatory.
  15. Same here. Haven't been able to find a trace of them now that I'm interested in buying. Looks like the ship has sailed and I didn't even make it to the pier.
  16. Here's a clear one: The rebuild options don't look particularly enticing, and I'm still unsure about the price point on this one...
  17. New commercial highlighting this month's TMNT sets (minus Shredder's Lair):
  18. Congrats to the creator. I'm hoping the X-Mansion makes it in for the upcoming review period. We have an official X-Men set coming out soon and I'd be interested to see how LEGO responds to this fan creation. That said, to get ~3,000 more supporters in such a short time would be a feat in itself.
  19. In that case, maybe I shouldn't tempt it by waiting for the next triple-point event?
  20. SSS isn't exclusive (to my knowledge), so it can't be that. I too am thinking it might be the Exo Suit. edit: Actually, now that I think about it... My reasoning was that since the Ghostbusters set is to release in June 2014 (pending any impromptu scheduling changes) and the Exo Suit is the sixth set, it would make sense for them to release the Exo Suit first. But having two Cuusoo sets back to back is an unlikely scenario. So now, while I do wonder why they'd be mysterious about it, I'm starting to think it is the Ghostbusters set after all. The VW is on its way out?
  21. It's already been confirmed that Darth Revan will be a free promo item with purchases of $75 or more.
  22. Ah yes. My mistake. They're around, but directly searching the database probably won't work. And then some, like the listing for Lunk, aren't complete. An example: http://www.amazon.ca/LEGO-Mixels-SLUMBO-41509-Building/dp/B00ITS4AUQ Whereas searching for Slumbo won't produce any matches. Here are some of the images I was able to find. I'm not including the package shots, but if anyone wants to see those posted too, let me know. Balk Chomly Gobba Jawg Slumbo Flurr
  23. Doubtful. They hit shelves in August, so we still have a few months to go.
  24. You may have been looking at Canadian prices (in which case, who could blame you for thinking the prices are steep). Starblaster Showdown - $19.99 (US) / $24.99 (CA) Knowhere Escape Mission - $39.99 (US) / $49.99 (CA) Milano Spaceship Rescue - $74.99 (US) / $89.99 (CA)
  25. Great news, everyone! You wanted images of the Turtle Lair Invasion set? Here they are, thanks to Amazon Canada! As an added bonus, here are some fresh new renders from the other movie sets! Turtle Van Takedown Big Rig Snow Getaway Now you can see one of the new turtle designs up-close (perhaps two if you count Raphael)! You'll also notice with the Turtle Van that the roof comes off similar to the Undersea Sub Chase. For the Big Rig set, the interior looks a bit better than I expected and the back of the box shows an interesting play feature for acting out the scene. I'm not totally sure about the mechanism on the second vehicle, where the roof splits in two to reveal Karai. I think the idea is that as the top part opens, Karai's platform will be raised. I personally still think the aesthetics are bland, but these features do give me a better feeling about the overall design. Let the discussion commence!
