Po-Koro Guardsman, Patrolling the Po-Koro/Ga-Koro Border
Zenerius replied to Seltz's topic in LEGO Action Figures
The desert scene would make for a fantastic stop motion/comic shooting location. Come to think of it, you seem like a pretty capable story writer. Maybe you should try writing an extensive comic narrative of your own, they're very fun to read! -
I'd say the sets will start appearing next week. Kind of strange Lego wants to release the sets after Christmas, since that's after the holiday season, but since stores usually break the street dates that isn't much of a problem.

3rd entry: Ukokin, a cyclops guarding the ancient Temple of Time. Ukokin by Zenerius, on Flickr Ukokin is a legendary cyclops who has guarded the ancient Temple of Time for many centuries. As one of the six elemental temple guardians, Ukokin, Master of Ice, must be defeated by Kopaka so he can gain his title as Master. This monstrous cyclops slumbers in a thick glacier, awakening when the Toa begin their search for the Vahi. -
I agree. I would probably wait for gold prices to rise, then sell it for sets.

I couldn't agree more. I find the ice sets interesting as well; but all of them are pretty cool. Can't wait for the reviews to roll in so I can see LOSS' function in more detail.

Battle For The Golden Mask Competition: Discussion Thread
Zenerius replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Are we allowed to retake photos after we've posted them to make them look better? -
Yeah, having insufficient parts really can be irritating. I kind of like the name (or lack thereof :D), makes it more mysterious, like a dark hunter.
-
Well, I'm not stopping there! Expect many more soon. Maybe you could construct a mount for No Name?
-
Haha! Really nice MOC, especially since it is your first in a while. The Bohrok plates on the shoulders fit well. The pictures are much nicer than mine!
-
No problem! Good luck with your MOCs and the golden mask contest

One does not simply learn how to build complex MOCs. In Soviet Russia, MOCs learn how to build YOU. All jokes aside, it just takes thought. To put it in the most simplified form possible, here are some tips: Gather inspiration. Look at some very experienced MOC creators, and learn strategies for building from them. To become a great builder, look at what they are making, and see if you can emulate their styles. Don't be afraid to try something new. If you want to build something but you are afraid that people wouldn't like it, build it anyway. Screw the system, it's your creation! Practice, practice, practice. Build MOCs any time you can. And when you aren't building, think of ideas. Developing a skill takes a lot of practice, and building is no exception. See what people think! When you post your MOC, see what people think you could have done better. There is always room for improvement! Mistakes aren't the end of the world. If you felt you have done something wrong, don't be discouraged to complete the MOC. Sometimes, even mistakes have led to some pretty awesome creations! Experiment! Combine different styles of building to create your own! Morph together Technic, System, Bionicle, and CCBS to create a unified and detailed look. Use pieces how they weren't originally intended for. If you need some more tips, ask around. Many of us here have been MOCcing with constraction for quite a long time, so you can ask us.

I'd like to take a look at it. So, what do you guys think LEGO will do with the other 7 golden masks? If they are giving them out to the public (which they likely are), maybe there could be contests centered around each mask element? For example, the Mask of Stone could have a contest to create some sort of stone-themed character.

The gold and green fit together very nicely; the insect aeshetic is well done. Hmm... I wonder what the Temple of Doom, Pain, and Other SufferingsTM would be like...

Second entry: Inyx, a once powerful Toa warrior whos effigy was brought to life by a dark curse. Inyx by Zenerius, on Flickr A once gallant Toa warrior, Inyx was immortalized into a statue to honor his incredible deeds to the Matoran. However, a curse befell the statue and turned it into a tool of destruction, decimating any who stand in its path. -

This is going to be an intense contest. Some of the best MOCers in the world are participating; I'll likely make multiple entries since only one really can't convey as much of a message as multiple mocs can. -

First entry: Oohmin, a mutant spider queen with a taste for Toa. Queen Oohmin by Zenerius, on Flickr Oohmin is an extremely powerful spider queen who lurks in the deep jungles of Bota Magna, commanding her spiderlings to do her bidding. Oohmin's incredibly poisonous fangs can incapacitate even the strongest of Toa within a matter of minutes; those who attempt to combat her never return from their quest. Always silent, and always stalking until the day comes to unleash her dreadful army upon the Toa. -

Oohmin's incredibly poisonous fangs can incapacitate even the strongest of Toa within a matter of minutes; those who attempt to combat her never return from their quest. Always silent and always stalking until the day comes to unleash her dreadful army upon the Toa. This was a rather short build and likely the first of many entries into the contest. It's the first contest I've participated in; I'm going all out and putting my best foot forward. Wish me luck! Queen Oohmin by Zenerius, on Flickr

The brain attack line released a new, sleeker head design with more axle slots, and a clip near the back of the head for attaching a visor with a compatible helmet. (http://brickset.com/parts/6021060)

From the animation, the matoran masks appear to all be generic Defender kanohi, but perhaps they come in different colors and patterns. If we got mask packs, then maybe they would work like that.

We can't really make too many assumptions on the story based on what we've already seen, but pretty much all of us have known that the new Bionicle would be more accessible for younger audiences. Sure, those terms may not be used by Lego themselves, but it doesn't mean we can't use them.

It's funny to see everyone making this assumptions based on a single word in a teaser. "Magic" was probably just thrown in there to invoke an effect of mystery. We've seen stuff like that before; somebody at Lego slips a word and the community goes crazy.
