I'm probably going to be watching movies 1-3. Can't watch the fourth one because I don't have the DVD. Also might play Bionicle Heroes, and maybe build a commemorative MOC. Or maybe a party?

The Gresh figure is blue. I don't think Gresh is blue. Also, very nice artwork Ven and Kalhiki. There was another piece of art on Tumblr that depicted Tahu lava surfing, but I can't find it again.

Perhaps these collectables could be more than just masks.... How about a whole pack of stuff? Hear me out- Randomized "accessory packs" that contain weapons, masks, ammunition, armor, and/or other specialized parts. Not only would moc makers use this for getting certain pieces, fans would want them to give their sets exclusive armor and tools.

Colorizing a picture is much easier than making convincing box art and stands, but I see your point. I looked at the colored pic in detail and it still looked very mediocre.

In my previous posts I mentioned an alternate universe. And, if the new Bionicle is a reboot, then there is a possibility it could take place in an alternate timeline.

Exactly. I want the new Bionicle to start off with the same mystery, brightness, and color the original series had. A simple story like the early years that is easy to grip, yet action packed. All of that combined with lots of outside media, like a tv show or comic book series later on. Don't forget the collectables. Never forget those.

He might have some influence. Considering the information we have now, it's likely the new Bionicle will be a reboot.

Lots of good stuff from Greg today! On the Ask Greg forum at the Lego Message Boards here. "No idea. If it were up to me, BIONICLE would not come back by picking up the old story, but as something new (a reboot or something else like that). As someone else pointed out in one of the threads, the original BIONICLE audience is mostly in high school and college now, and to succeed, the line is going to have to appeal to today's 8 and 9 and 10 and 11 year olds, who know nothing about it. So picking up old story and forcing them to have to go back and do all that research to know what is going on probably wouldn't be a good strategy." Looks like we might be going for a reboot, guys! "4) If it were my decision to make, no. The old story is great, and it's vast, and it's complex, and very few kids in the 8-11 age group the sets would have to sell to knows much of anything about it. Expecting them to study up on 9 years of story to be able to play with the sets is asking a lot." Most likely we are going for a reboot here. Thank goodness. Having a prequel/sequel would be confusing for future audiences.

I am about to blow your minds, guys. This could be a prequel. About the Toa Mata on Daxia, training to collect their kanohi. Think of it! The black/red spider could be guarding a kanohi, as well as the other rahi to provide challenges for the Mata until they collect them. Also, maybe we could get a new Hydraxon set, a shallows cat, and the Daxia piranhas! And after the Toa get their masks, they can get to Karda Nui to enter the Codrex and be put in stasis, and the story begins back up at 2001. Just a theory. To be honest, I'd prefer a reboot, but this is a pretty awesome theory in my opinion.

Not quite true. Compared to the HF 2014 topic, this one is drastically smaller. Take into account other posts like the Mixels discussion; it has even more than this, clocking in at 50 thousand views. Now, put the HF discussion into perspective: a whopping 240,471 views! That's nearly five times as much views as the 2015 rumors topic. While I do agree, this is somewhat uniting the fanbase again, and a 35 thousand view jump is pretty good, it's just not as major as we expected.

Lego might be trying to cover up Bionicle's return, or they might be telling the truth. We'll just have to wait and see.

A tv show would likely be their best choice, considering the success of Ninjago and Chima. They might make the series 3D animated like the previous two, but I think it would be great if it was MNOG style, or something similar. Something about that type of animation is charming.

I've been hearing around on Brickipedia and the like about Lego announcing they will revive past themes in 2015, like Adventurers and Bionicle. Trying to find proof, but no luck yet.

You're right, but I've made several Mahri, Phantoka, Mistika, and Metru masks fit on Brain Attack heads and they still look decent. Perhaps a new head design thats a cross between will be released?

If there are collectable masks, then hopefully they have a design like the 2001 kanohi when they looked simple. Not necessarily remakes of 2001 masks, but in a similar style. Also, they should be compatible with Toa Metru heads as well as Brain Attack heads.

I saw the same thing on the boxes earlier. My first outlandish theory was Makuta's Shadow Hand, but I doubt thats the case. Looks like a headcrab, to be honest

Since we know that Lego is keeping CCBS around (thank goodness) it's safe to say that we will probably be getting more shells similar to Bionicle. I hope they keep the shell shape simple though in order to make the armor usable for a variety of other themes and mocs.

Probably the most unique Makuta-related moc I've seen. Never before has there been an actual antidermis vat moc to my knowledge!

FINGERS. FREAKING. CROSSED. If Mask Packs return, oh boy that would be huge. Back to the olden days when there were 72 or more collectables each year! I don't understand why they stopped it, it was a great marketing strategy as proven with the CMF series. I just want to walk in a LEGO store with the walls lined with mask packs and charts with all the kanohi :3

Keep in mind that this was probably made before Bionicle was considered for a return, or to keep it's return a secret. It states "At the moment, we're not planning to bring back LEGO BIONICLE."

I want the new Bionicle to be as great as the original years. Mask collecting, exclusive promo masks and media, and like you said: promote the heck out of it. Lego stores each filled with giant barrels of kanohi! Online story articles! A comic series? A more simple story for newcomers, while still having references! Man, that would be fantastic.

I liked the Legend Reborn because of how it looked like it was authentic Lego, instead of the half-organic characters in the previous three movies. The movie also incorporated some aging into the looks of the characters (dusty, scratched, etc.) to make it look realistic. I really loved that style, hopefully they bring it back if Lego ever makes animations, cartoon, or a movie with the theme.

In a way, Lego is effectively reassembling the Bionicle community! This is one of the good things no matter how the new Bionicle turns out. Everyone might just be united again! Instead of a shattered community, we are know refined.

Yeah. Looks like we've mostly proven that the images are real and all that's truly left is confirmation from LEGO. Now, when Bonkles hit stores, what are you guys gonna do first? I would go to a lego store, get all the sets and collect ALLLLLL the kanohi! :D

Probably. From what I know Universal was still trying to obtain the rights, and after that we've heard nothing. But if there IS a new Bionicle movie coming, I hope the movie looks more faithful to the sets, kind of like the original animations for 2001.
