I know where they are. According to a Dutch legend, Sinterklaas (where Santaclaus came from) is buying them all up for his birthday (actually the day before he died) at the 5th of December. You must have met him once with his black helpers. He lives somewhere in Madrid (already for about 500 years. For those who are unbelievers, check wikipedia He actually has given me my first train: 7710, the 5th of December 1981, I was 2,5 years old back then! Dank u Sinterklaasje!

The biggest Prize Pool in AFOL fansite history?
JopieK replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
there are indeed very nice even when you are mainly into city like me. -
It might be a hoax after all (the papers said it was coming from LEGO however). http://www.bolegbros.co.uk/apprentice3/Index.asp http://www.realradiowales.co.uk/news-sport...heads/k69m2m2p/ Update from Jan Beyer: Hallo, es ist eine PR Kampagne von LEGO UK und die Figuren sind nur digital gemacht - es war/ist niemals der Plan diese Figuren real zu produzieren. Jan (1000steine.de) Translation: So it is a PR campaign from LEGO UK and those figures are only made digitally, it was and is never the plan to produce these figures.

Yups in Holland they ignore McCain and only tell good things about Obama ;) But anyway, I think this is more or less based on a press release from TLG, wouldn't you say?!
-
I'm sure they are 3d renderings, but the article hints to real versions doesn't it?!
-
for us using them as an example for customs. I think LEGO has made molds for the hairpieces so they might reuse those.

Thanks for the link

I found a link to a Dutch/Flemmish page: http://www.nieuwsblad.be/Article/Detail.as...MF18092008_066# Maybe it was already posted but didn't see it until now: Others will be David en Victoria Beckham, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Danni Minogue. Figs will not be sold, just for the celebration of 30 years minifigs.

Review: 7979 Castle Advent Calendar (First Look)
JopieK replied to brickbitz's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
heard that it will come out the 1rst of Oktober in Holland. -
Well in Holland there is a very strict police force (at least the traffic cops are, quite some people are disturbed by it). LEGO also has a disturbing large police force I'm afraid. That is why we always put officers in a sea with a bunch of sharks or something like that some people actually notice

Nice to have you here Pierre. Today a colleague of mine also confessed he wanted to get the Millennium Falcon very much (Maybe he should join Guss' club )

Name: WeDo Construction Set Set No.: 9580 Theme: DACTA > TECHNIC > WeDo Year: 2008 Pieces: 158 Minifigs: 1,5 (1 torso, 1 pants, 2 heads male/female, hat + hairpiece). Price: Not yet available in shops. Introduction: Today I got 5 brand new LEGO Education sets. When we have got the software, we will help Dacta getting a Dutch version an probably start creating educational materials for the set in the Dutch language. Here the front of the box. It is quite small, but that is of course convenient for schools. The box is pretty much filled so that is a nice change, isn't it?! Most other LEGO boxes are filled for 65% with air. You see the inventory card with all the 'normal' LEGO pieces. Here the other side of the card with the other parts, most of them are technical. The bags with the parts. They are very nice and colorful, so perfect for kids. Here the Power Function parts. Still in their bags, nice and shining! The three PF parts. Two sensors and one actuator. It appears that the sensor should be connected on top of the actuator parts (see inset). Here is the USB hub. The block apparently lets one connect two actuators and two sensors. There is one actuator (Medium Motor) and there are two sensors available: a Medium Motor and a Tilt Sensor. B.t.w. those parts will be also separately sold: 8883 Medium Motor, 9583 Motion Sensor, 9584 Tilt Sensor and the 9581 LEGO USB Hub. (Date is set to 01-12-2008) Here the parts nicely in the box. Neatly prepared for the next lesson. Here you can see an example from LEGO that shows an application of this set. Here you can see the applications for the set that LEGO had in mind: Amazing Mechanisms - Dancing Birds - Smart Spinner - Drumming Monkey Wild Animals - Hungry Alligator - Roaring Lion - Flying Bird Play Soccer - Goal Kicker - Goal Keeper - Cheering Fans Adventure Stories - Airplane Rescue - Giant Escape - Sailboat Storm Here you can see the minifig built as a scared boy with a nice lime green hat. There is also a red 'cabbage' and a girly face so here you have the girl minifig variety. Maybe some sick children like me will get evil idea's by combining that 1,5 minifig This set can't be found (yet) on: Peeron / Lugnet / Brickset /Bricklink entries But here a link to the LEGO site I didn't receive the software yet so I couldn't program it or something like that. The first impression of the software was really nice. (see link above) We will be helping Dacta in our College to make it suitable for technical education in Dutch primary schools. I also didn't have any instructions (they will be on the CD I guess), so I borrowed that one picture from LEGO. The only thing I think is a bit a shame is that they didn't include one more torso and pair of pants. Playability: 8/10 (Nice set, children can use it in quite some different ways. Looks easy to use, no comments on software yet) Design: 7/10 (Nice set, young children will be able to use it for getting technical experience.) Price: -/10 (Hope it will not cost more than 75€ so a lot of schools can buy it, but you never know) Overall: 8/10 (nice set, very useful for technical education to younger children) I hope to have the software soon, come see our school stand at LEGOWorld to see the sets working (we let children built with it). It will be a great set in education. Children can learn enough about motors, gears, sensors, etc. without it being too difficult. The programming environment looks also promising. This will help preparing children for the NXT (so we will try to integrate it into our continuous robotics curriculum for Dutch primary and secondary schools). As you can see on the box, you can e.g. create a crocodile that opens its mouth when you come close, the tilt sensor will make sure it is not tilted too far and then it can lower its upper jaw after a while again.

note: also remember to 'rescan' your catalog in MLCad.

Thanks for the review, I have a grudge against police sets, but this one is quite nice! Those pirates are a nice addition

Name: Helicopter and Raft Set No.: 2230 Theme: LEGO > SYSTEM > Town > Promotional Year: 2008 Pieces: 115 Minifigs: 2 Price: Not available in shops, about USD 20$ in parts on Bricklink. MISB price is over USD 40$. Introduction: Last saturday we went to Germany to a 1000steine event. Of course we got too much LEGO their. At an auction that was instigated by mr. Jan Beyer, there were three of those sets. The first one was auctioned of for no more than 13€. We bid on the 2nd set and we almost needed to buy it for 14€ 'cause my cousin made his bid in Dutch, and Lutz is still learning ;) Thanks to Bruno it was translated correctly and so we also got this one for only 13€. The last one was also sold for 13€ to another lucky buyer. We should build a waterfall for our LEGOWorld town as well to be able to also show this nice set there! The front of the box, showing the chopper and raft The backside of the box with some suggestions on how to play with the set. An overview of the set with the two bags, the box with the string, the two instructions and the box. One instruction is for the chopper, the other for the raft. Unfortunately the two bags are not separated in the same way. Here a shot from the instructions in which the sets are finished by adding the last parts. The Chopper with its pilot. Building time: approx. 5 minutes. Here the raft with the boatsman in rough water. Building time: approx. 3,5 minutes. After building the set these were the leftovers. No very special parts but the accessories are nice to make a complete set. The white backpack is our first b.t.w. (mostly found in Starwars sets and we don't have a lot of those), but the Advent calender will provide us with some more I hope For some strange reason Bricklink doesn't have it in the set inventory (peeron does). Here the two minifigs. One is the pilot, with a modern air torso. The other is a sportsman with a torso like in the sports sets. Here you see the empty raft. It looks quite nice. I like the chains (apart from the figs probably the most valuable parts). The 1 x 4 rounded blocks are a nice solution. Too bad you see the pins of the tube ends, but it would be difficult to avoid that of course. The right side of the chopper. There is a 'mailbox' that gives the chopper space to put something in (like the white backpack). At the left there is a sling with an anchor. The sling can be used to put the raft under the chopper and use it in 'Chinook' mode. This is not very realistic, since normally the rotor wash of a chopper would be too much for such a light boat, but in this case the boat weights almost as much as the chopper does. The front of the chopper. The window is put on upside down and that gives it quite a nice look I think. Under the cockpit there is a searchlight mounted. The cockpit with the two levers when it is opened. At the end of the tail, the chopper has a nice tail rotor attached to the tail wing this will prevent the shopper from spinning and the tail can be used to stabilize the horizontal movement even better. This set can be found on: Peeron Lugnet Brickset Bricklink entries Playability: 8/10 (Nice set, children can use it in quite some different ways. The chopper is of course an object with a high 'swoosh' factor) Design: 7/10 (A nice set but I really don't like the Helicopter Sled Rails being one large part (reminds me too much of Jackstone times)) Price: -/10 (We had a bargain but they are sold for as high as 81 USD at Bricklink (MISB)) Overall: 7/10 (nice set, could see some improvements but is very complete on the other hand) Thanks for reading the review, hope you are lucky to have the set to or obtain it soon, one way or the other, tip: probably cheaper to buy at bricklink in separate parts

you got the link in some other forum, use the second one since the first was no good. don't be lazy, just try first www.ldraw.org gives more than enough information, I could give you a lecture of course, but then you might need to enroll at our College (Zwolle so not so far ;)).

I like Bricksmith better ;) Very good control, no large bugs detected so far. But it only runs on fine unix systems and not on inferior computers ;)
