ARTICLE: What Ever Happened to the Single Train Car?
JopieK replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
We had two of those cars on the last LEGO Event of the Dutch de Bouwsteen group in Hardenberg. It is strange that the other two cars that are in the set have red buffers and this additional car has black ones. -
I have alternative stickers, but since our printing device has some issues at the moment and parts don't come in until next week, I can't try these stickers :s

What about RelientK with the Pirates that don't do anything, or the Veggietales variety :p and the RelientK guys: I keep editting, but: http://www.veggiepirates.com/home.html (they play the song on the site) with extra effects ;)

Well that is a nice MOC considering that you were younger and building it together with your brother. I now and then also help my brother, he has brain problems so he is not able to build very sophisticated stuff on his own (but he now and then builds a set from the instructions).
-
prehistory is a contradiction in terms. We can't know something that happened in the prehistory since it then wouldn't per definition become history instead of prehistory ;)
-
Next month we will also be able to press t-shirts (the devices are in backorder). Maybe I can ask that guy for a sort of license. Greetings Johan p.s. just wrote that guy an email...

hmm, I think we should also keep track of the uptime of the server, some people also get their kick of of that (I have a FreeBSD server, so for me it is also simple to get a record now and then ;)). But anyway, 318 people is nice!

Hmmm, I guess you just want to get idea's from us huh, I would say, just check brickshelf.com, there are a lot of idea's there! But maybe you can also have some fun with this one: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=333712

Yes, that is what I alwas use. So most of the time I redraw logo's in Illustrater. There are tools that can do it for you but they do not work nice and most of the time the vectors become way too complicated.
-
nice collection, those older sets are still the best :)
-
If you have a vector version, I can try to reproduce them on transparant materials. That is the closest to the originals. Decals scratch to much that is why I never use decals allthough I have some lying around.

It looks like custom LEGO (I'm at least 100% sure it isn't real LEGO), isn't it the work of that guy with his scooters? He also has that kind of hair and other accessoiries.

before a certain date, bluish dark gray just didn't exist. than at a certain dark morning, LEGO decided to switch to some new colors and dark bluish gray was born... so that is why you have two colors of tracks the older is normal dark grey, the newer is bluish. Some people want the old color of course but newer tracks are likely to be less rusty etc so I myself would go for that and I guess price doesn't matter as well (AFAIK).

Yups in Holland are the fields a little bit smaller than NC ;) and we have larger combines but not those huge ones.
-
He must have a box full of antenna's now ;) It looks really cool indeed, but also very pricey.
-
Well I guess those colors will become less exclusive one day. That is always a problem with standard sets, that they are so small, but a little bit strange that it is the cinema problem as well since it is quite expensive! Nice upgrade at least.
-
I think the set is too unrealistic, I like the new ResQ sets better (and I'm somewhat a Lifeboat freak so I'm always following such a sets with interest). I would like to see some rigit inflatable boats some day ;) but about the chopper, I like the accessoiries.

Well we don't have the stickers in our store but we should have them somewhere. The large doors in the Arla set are the only difficult parts. I actually forgot to mention this one: The only problem with that truck is that the wheels are quite wide (but that's nothing if you compare it to the LEGO city monster trucks of today).
-
A lot of children like the Monorail too. We had it once at LEGOWorld in Zwolle (I think it was back in 2005) and a lot of children asked if it was still available in the store (well we told them the average Ebay price ;)) I heard that LEGO had done research on a reissue but that they found out that the actual estimation was too low to make it worth to reissue the set.

If you had the possibility to choose a new City minifig character
JopieK replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
Well, it seems to be that mine is already there :) http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2106/212095..._3d396502e6.jpg @AwesomeStar: for in the LEGO town they are not too great indeed. Well just create one yourself then of course! -
I bought a light tent to make LEGO pictures last year. I just make sure that there are two floodlights next to the tent at the left and right. That takes away most of the unwanted shadows. It is like this one: http://home.comcast.net/~kirchh/Misc/Light...h_Cube_Tent.jpg but mine is a bit larger.

If it is in the May holiday you can count me, my brother (Arnoud) and cousin (also Johan) in. We would love to go there with other LEGO friends. Hmm seems that the Dutch May holiday is "25 apr 2009 - di 05 mei 2009", but maybe I can convince my boss for some other date in May as well (I use LEGO for my work as well so...).

I'm afraid they don't have curly LEGO hair ;) bit a problem for me. But her face is not yellowish enough I guess or is she modelled after a flesh minifig?!
