I like the radial engine! The wings seem a bit small though. Cool MOC! -
Building Models on Request
unimog123 replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well in that case than a small Tatra sounds good, but do you think you could make it somewhat fast and powerful as well as in a rare color? -
Today I present a quick MOC, that I made. To start, let me just say that I actually made my first tracked vehicle exactly one year ago from today, so I thought why not make another one, but better. It features full suspension with trailing arms connected to a hard 6L shock absorber, two pairs of LED's (1 front/1 rear) connected to a switch in the cab, as well as a strong drivetrain using 2 XL motors geared 1:1. Also the Triple A battery box is placed behind the 2 XL's. Sorry for the shortage of pictures, but as I was taking them it was snowing. I will have more pictures on my blog once I post it later today.

Building Models on Request
unimog123 replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wait so, you mean just something to build, not build one of your previous models. If so than how about a mid-sized light rally car, perhaps something along the lines of an old Audi Quattro, with 1 or 2 RC Buggy motors connected to a lipo battery or two. I think this would be a great MOC, to test speed and offroad performance as well as just being fun to drive! Hope you can build it! -

(WIP) CAT 525c Grappler
unimog123 replied to unimog123's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I agree completely. I am more of a performance kind of builder, I like fast or off road models, but I do like construction vehicles as well. Just not as experienced I guess.- 17 replies

(WIP) CAT 525c Grappler
unimog123 replied to unimog123's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have kind of lost interest in this project, unfortunately. I've tried multiple setups for certain sections, tried making it manually operated, and even slightly changing the actual model to refer to. It just seems hopeless. It seems I didn't plan this model out very well, hopefully this shouldn't happen again. Sorry to disappoint.- 17 replies

(WIP) CAT 525c Grappler
unimog123 replied to unimog123's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
At first I didn't think width would be a problem, but as I looked into it more I realized there is no way to complete a completely remote control version of this in a relatively small size. So here is what I think I will base this model on now: This is a Volvo Timber Grappler, for some reason though I could only find a picture of a toy version.- 17 replies

[MOD] 8297 Crawler
unimog123 replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great revamp! One thing though is that the tires look slightly to big, but I guess that is just part of good crawling. -
(WIP) CAT 525c Grappler
unimog123 replied to unimog123's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Sorry for the double post, but I have made some progress with the articulated joint. Unfortunately I had to abandon the RWD/4WD system all together and this time I am trying a 1 M motor setup without a ball joint. It is quite sturdy and robust, but I am not sure on how to progress from here. First of all do you think I need an L motor or M motor for the raising and lowering of the front plow, if an L motor than this project will take a bit longer because I would need to buy 2 more L motors. ( other 4 L motors are still in previous MOC's ) Secondly I am unsure of how to build off of this module and into the rest of the chassis.- 17 replies

Small lego RC race car
unimog123 replied to Taha99's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I agree with Zblj. More torque from the L motor so you can gear it up a bit and still have good torque for a small car. Can't wait to see finished result! -
(WIP) CAT 525c Grappler
unimog123 replied to unimog123's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks Doc Brown! I was not expecting it to just jump into the water. I do agree that the M motor was sufficient in turning, but I don't know if 1 M motor could turn mine. If all goes as planned it should have 2 XL's, 2 L's, 3 M's (2 for steering), Triple A Battery Box, 3 IR receivers, and 1 pole reverser switch (also for steering). So I don't know if an M motor could handle all that at a reasonable speed. I will hopefully have some more progress later today.- 17 replies

Interesting choice of MOC. I like the color of the gears. I have to say though, I don't believe this is by Nico71. Even though it may be just as well made and innovative as his machines, it isn't his. I just checked both his youtube channel and blog and I didn't find this. It is still a cool find though!

No, I don't use LDD, but I wouldn't say I have loads of time to build either. Luckily it is the weekend, so there should be much more progress!- 17 replies

[MOC] RC STS Crane

Interesting MOC. I liked the video very much. I'm sure it takes a lot of work to pull that whole presentation off, and I must say it is worth it! Great job.- 24 replies
