  1. Getting the Bat would be the perfect set to finally include a minifigure-scaled Batpod too! Plus it’s all contextually accurate given the final chase scene from TDKR. Throw in Batman, Catwoman, Bane, and maybe Gordon, and that would make for a great set. Can’t wait to see the summer lineup. Moreso than specific Batman properties, I just hope the quality of this wave heralds a return to form for DC. It would be fantastic to see a new cowl mould now that the 2012 and 2015 versions have been done to death. It’ll never happen, but I’d love to see the 2022 Batmobile redone in Speed Champions sometime in the future. The one from last year was pretty great, but too oversized.
  2. No denying they cut corners quite a lot, I agree. I’m just glad to see modern content from the shows and stuff from the Clone Wars / Prequels adapted into sets is all. But damn, we better get something with Cal Kestis this year. I have my fingers crossed that we got BD-1 last year as a compromise because they wanted to get System scaled sets out once Survivor releases. One can hope! Agree with you all that it’s looking to be an expensive year outside of this theme anyway!
  3. Seems like a misstep not to release the Great Deku Tree to coincide with TotK in May. Would’ve worked out quite nicely given that the last game-related display set (Tallneck) was released last May too. But I suppose it’s too early to speculate. Imagine a whole wave of BotW / TotK sets though.. I’m not particularly a fan of how popular new themes get assigned large D2Cs more than smaller sets, but I’d absolutely buy a D2C Divine Beast with full interior. The Rivendell set shows how adept Lego has got at replicating complex structures and patterns, which can absolutely apply to what we see with Sheikah technology and structures from the games.
  4. Hopefully the lineup won’t be that bad The theme has been getting better and better over the past couple of years, I really hope all that improvement doesn’t just go down the drain. Especially as the winter waves are so small now, it just heightens expectations for the main course that is the summer wave. @BrickBob Studpants Ahsoka sets are my most anticipated too. I reeeeeeeeally hope we finally get a new, decently proportioned montrail piece for Ahsoka. The Shaak-Ti one just doesn’t work.
  5. Just realised the Maharajah is holding a nanofigure representing Indy’s voodoo doll, pretty cool!
  6. Let your imagination fill the gaps that pixels leave behind. I think I’ll hold off on buying these until the Dial of Destiny wave is released (July 1st?), and then I’ll buy most, if not all of these in one fell swoop. Can’t wait to see more pictures that do these sets justice.
  7. I’m in two minds about a $200 NWH set. On one hand, it affords the size and budget to make a great display piece with plenty of mini figures and perhaps some cool play functions, but at the same time it also ends up pricing out a huge chunk of the target market. But maybe there’ll be a second set with Sandman, Lizard, and perhaps another Spidey variant (I can see the inverted suit being reused again, it’s a pretty cool minifigure) to fill the gaps? This is all assuming that rumour is true to begin with, but it aligns with Promobricks’ hint of a potential second set.
  8. @Legocentrico The trick is to squint really hard
  9. It’s just a part of the wall, the bit after the downward slope piece. Overall, I definitely need to see more images before making a decision. I’m not as blown away as I wish I was, but there’s still quite a few strong points here. Henry Sr. without a new hat mould is so disappointing, but I’m sure the modern level of print detail will make up for it. Indy figure looks fantastic as expected, major shoutout to whomever designed the initial whip and bag mould to withstand the test of time so well. The smallest set looks nice overall, love the plane and the car. Initially, the Lost Tomb set felt too…perpendicular. But it looks like a solid display piece. Sallah with Dengar’s headpiece makes sense and looks great, and the Anubis statues look much more imposing (if a tad derpy, although it’s cool that they’re on turntables so that they can twist as they fall). Also a nice touch of accuracy - there’s a hole in the wall for the snakes to come through! Very cool. The half-shadowed mummy standing ominously in the package art background feels really creepy. Temple of Doom looks cool enough, even if the statue isn’t very well realised. I suspect these leaked due to Nuremberg Toy Fair currently taking place?
  10. Looking at the Official 2023 News thread, 75361 wasn’t assigned a price / piece count yet right? It was one of the ‘gap’ set numbers up until now. Meh indeed. But hey, Mando’s N-1 was far too large and clunky. If we can get another N-1 that’s smaller and more aerodynamic, it wouldn’t be such a bad thing I suppose. Does seem like a waste of a slot though. @ForgedInLego It’s explicitly stated to be 75361, not 362. I suspect the September sets are tie-ins for Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew. Although, Ambush on Ferrix was rumoured as a September release last year before it was revealed to accompany the rest of the August wave, so you never know.
  11. I’m reading it as confirmation too, otherwise they wouldn’t bother responding if they weren’t aware sets are planned. Plus that ‘one and a half years’ comment affirms we’ll be seeing them this summer. Most likely wishing for (far) too much here, but I really hope all three Spideys are decked out with arm printing, dual moulded legs, and alternate heads.
  12. That’s ominous to hear. Summer 2021 and 2022 were some of the best recent waves for this theme in my opinion, I do hope the design team doesn’t disrupt that momentum completely. I suspect this may have something to do with those smaller sets being gimmick-based. What’s everyone hoping for this summer? For me, a strong set or two from the Ahsoka series (T-6 Shuttle please), something with Phase 2 Rex, and a system scale set from Jedi: Fallen Order / Survivor would be the top picks. Fingers crossed that the Mandalorian S3 sets are strong ones. Glad to see the Sail Barge getting the UCS treatment, one of Promobricks’ stories on the usual place seems to indicate it’s definitely coming later in the year, unless I’m misreading it.
  13. Okay, that’s genuinely stunning. When it comes to Zelda, BotW is my favourite and I’m so happy to see those minifigures. Hopefully this won’t be ridiculously overpriced. With the piece count and potential pricing, I wonder why Lego didn’t just opt to do a Hyrule Castle playset, however this is definitely a buy for me if it enters production. It’s delightful to see Hestu and some Koroks! Yahaha. (I’m just picturing a Bionicle / BotW crossover where Tahu opens a Bohrok’s headplate and finds a Korok).
  14. I think we can all agree that it’s so refreshing when Brickheadz sets look like they’ve had some actual effort put into them. All 3 sets look rather brilliant. I’ll be getting WALL-E and EVE at the very least.
  15. Really excited for that Stitch figure, the CMF lineup as a whole sounds great. Would’ve been great to get Stitch’s little red spaceship as a small set at some point.
  16. I can think of a couple of examples within LSW now that you mention it. The Airborne Trooper had a 5 year gap in between 2015’s Geonosis Troopers Battle Pack and 2020’s Grievous’ Starfighter, and the Fifth Brother’s helmet was first produced in 2016 before returning in 2022 after 6 years. There’s definitely a precedent for reintroducing moulds that haven’t been updated in some manner, although I agree that the Jabba mould certainly has room for improvement. With the recent release of the Mando S3 trailer, I’ve been thinking about whether Lego will finally produce a specialised darksaber piece to be included in the May tie-in sets. If memory serves, I remember the design team stating that they didn’t have the time / budget to create one for the N-1 because that was fast tracked into production to align with TBoBF. With the arrival of Season 3, now seems like the right time.
  17. Agreed on all points, for me the Skull Dungeons sets were one of the strongest Ninjago waves in recent memory. Edit: Sorry for the double post. Accidental.
  18. @TeriXeri Agreed on all points, for me the Skull Dungeons sets were one of the strongest Ninjago waves in recent memory.
  19. This could just be a translation error from using Safari’s webpage translation feature, but did anyone catch the bit on Promobricks’ article today stating that the upcoming wave (singular) will be comprised of eight sets? The table lower down on the article still doesn’t assign an April release date to the DoD sets, but I wonder if this does indeed mean that everything will be released at once. No surprise at all that the largest OT set is a Hovitos temple diorama, it’s the quintessential Indy set piece after all. Hoping we get an Alfred Molina figure from two franchises this year! Also find it really wholesome that Ke Huy Quan’s return to the big screen corresponds with his return as a minifigure.
  20. Not to mention those bogus rumours started circulating quite a while back, well before even the trailer debuted. I detest how this brand of sensationalist clickbait nonsense catches traction far too quickly. So what’s everyone’s most anticipated April set? It’s a mix between the Fighter Plane Chase and Well of Souls for me.
  21. @Atrius Kain Going by the trailer alone and Hasbro’s Worlds of Adventure toys, I can see most of your predictions coming true. The Greek Tomb absolutely needs to be a set and I can’t see it struggling to hold a presence with the Well of Souls / Temple of Doom sets as they’ll all look quite different I’m sure. Plus, concept art for the tomb was shown at D23 last year, so it’s not a stretch to assume Lego would have received it too prior to commencing their design work. Voller’s plane is another likely one, and no Indy lineup is complete without a ‘chase’ set, so perhaps something with motorcycles and tuk-tuks? The train from the flashback sequence could also look pretty good.
  22. @Mandalorianknight Not sure about it being ‘evergreen’, but I think we can all agree Avatar sets will be gracing (no pun intended) toy shelves fairly regularly to coincide with the new sequel films when they release at least. Even if the theme itself takes breaks between new releases. It’s a hard tie for me between wanting Indy or LotR to become evergreen themes though, both are amazing in their own right. I do think the benefit of Indiana Jones is that across all four films, there’s a defined number of set pieces and scenes that would translate well into sets. Realistically if we get two waves a year covering four sets at a time, you can get some good coverage of all four films within a few years. Unlike Star Wars / Harry Potter / LOTR, I can’t see this theme needing to reinvent itself every few years or having a major focus on things like army building. April can’t come soon enough, planning to buy all of these.
  23. Not happening for the first wave at least. The only Raiders set is the Well of Souls, which includes Indy, Marion, Sallah, and a mummy. I can see maybe another wave next year, but am not banking on this being an evergreen theme. Off topic, but why weren’t the skeletons in the Well of Souls mummified? Especially given that it’s an Egyptian tomb. Always wondered if they were just people trapped in there when that sandstorm wiped Tanis clean off the map.
  24. Yeah it would’ve been nice to see a set with a higher piece count, but the Bowie should still look pretty good with a thousand or so pieces as long as there aren’t any significant side builds that detract from it. 2020’s Benatar just set the bar way too high now. With the Harry Potter set list out, I’m hoping we get some indication in the coming weeks of what awaits Marvel. Massive assortment of sets this summer and I’m hoping for some winners across the board - although rather selfishly I’m more excited for potential NWH stuff than anything else.
  25. Most likely with a lot of unconfirmed set names if they’re based on unreleased media, just like how it was when Promobricks released their set list last February. I can’t wait to find out what’s in store though! Out of curiosity, what aspects of the 2022 summer wave fell short in your opinion? I thought it was a pretty good wave all in all with some duds like the Mapuzo Duel. However, having the Justifier as the flagship set felt like a misfire. If anything, I hope the flagship set this year isn’t another oversized grey ship with minimal interior space.
