  1. From Promobricks’ latest video: NWH Set - All three Spideys have alternate heads! - Electro has ‘yellow lightning’ on his face. No indication if this is printing only or a new mould. - Doctor Strange, Ned, and MJ are included. - No Lizard, Sandman is brick-built. - Build is the Statue of Liberty head with scaffolding around it Also it seems that 76266 is indeed an A-Force set from Endgame, Thanos is included with a new print.
  2. This would be so awesome! Especially if you could alternate Ahsoka’s look with the cloak + hood combo. Still a little bummed out we aren’t getting a new mould for her, that oversized Shaak-Ti headpiece just doesn’t work IMO, and far more minor characters (Vane, Young Jedi Adventures cast etc.) have gotten new moulds this year. Heck, even YJA Yoda got another new mould for crying out loud.
  3. I mean, @Lego_Minecraft_Goat already confirmed the NWH set is still happening on this very thread page so I’m not going to worry. Wouldn’t be surprised if Lego do cancel it though, it would be on par with the course of absurd decisions they’ve been making lately.
  4. None of these are particularly mind-blowing, but we’ve known for a while that the true goodness of the summer wave will arrive in September anyway. - The mechs are fine, cheap way to get some classic villain characters and the Boba / Stormtrooper ones actually have some personality to them, unlike Vader’s more generic mech. I am really not a fan of the <insert that tiresome argument> angled limb piece that was introduced in Ninjago, but understand how its robustness can aid play for younger demographics. - Yoda’s Starfighter: No more desirable than the 2017 version, though I can appreciate this one looks a little more stubby than its predecessor as it should. However, it feels like a waste of a slot and as a Clone Wars tie-in, something with Anakin or Obi-Wan in their CW armour would’ve been much better (or better yet, just make it a small Jedi: Survivor set!). Part of me thinks Lego settled on this set due to having no budget left for more new minifigures. - 332nd Battle Pack: Unnecessary, but a nice way to accrue more of Ahsoka’s troopers. Vaughn seems like a very lazily done figure, but I didn’t expect much on that front anyway. Also love how the Swamp Speeder isn’t even in a swamp setting, at least the context is accurate! - Yavin IV: Overall, I do like it. But my main gripes with this (and as of late, quite a few of the large summer sets for this theme) is the piece count. A couple hundred more pieces dedicated to the Massassi Temple itself would’ve worked wonders, as it looks quite undersized in its current iteration. A large, expensive summer set really shouldn’t have an issue like this, the set barely breaks the 1000 piece mark and a non-trivial number of those parts are diverted towards the Y-Wing, tree build, and ground speeder. Lego, please don’t fumble the September sets.
  5. Just because something is made from Lego bricks, doesn’t make it worth building. Sets like the shield really exemplify that. For just over half the price, one could buy the Marvel Legends replica which would be far more display-worthy and easier to handle. When it comes to these buildable items, Lego really hit the sweet spot with the helmets and Infinity / Nano-Gauntlets in terms of scale and price-point, some things just don’t merit a massive footprint physically and financially. Are those catalogue leaks all we’re getting from that leaker? The August Star Wars sets are also in there so I would’ve thought we’d see pictures of the NWH set too.
  6. The overall review spectrum seems to indicate that it’s a competently made film, just not a very impactful one. Really thought this one was going to blow people away, but I’ll reserve my opinions for after I see it myself. No doubt I’ll enjoy it even if it isn’t the best. But yeah, not surprised anymore that a lot of companies chose to forgo full-on DoD merchandise.
  7. I don’t really want to complain about this year given that we’ll be feasting in a few months, but damn I really wish Lego could’ve allocated a set to Jedi: Survivor this year. I used to think a large Stinger Mantis would be the quintessential Jedi set, but in all honesty looking at the gameplay for Survivor, there are so many ships, locations, and characters to use without even broaching spoiler territory. It would’ve been nice to have a set allocated to the game, even if it would’ve been a small one to take the place of Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter. Here’s hoping Lego have something planned for this game next year, there’s no way they aren’t aware of its popularity.
  8. The mods of that Subreddit tend to have insider info, and they’ve been on the ball with this for quite a while. New buildable Kong figures look great!
  9. I’ve realised what’s irked me the most about the Mandalorian Season 3 sets, which is the whole ‘Mando Mania’ approach with Lucasfilm. We’ve seen that when Chapter [X] of the season premieres, Lego is allowed to reveal a set based on said episode during the following week’s Mando Mania showcase. On paper it’s a great idea to synchronise the reveal of a set with the content it’s based on, but then what’s the point of Lucasfilm still playing coy with what they share with Lego? One would think that if Lego are to wait until an episode premieres for a corresponding set reveal, that set would be accurate. But we see with the Spider Tank and Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor that they are still riddled with inaccuracies and omissions. Of course, the majority of the S3 sets leaked before their official reveals anyway, and as it stands at least Lego is doing relevant merchandise for the show as opposed to mostly relying on new TBoBF merchandise like Hasbro are. Can’t fault licensees when they don’t receive enough material to work with, so I’m not surprised the LSW team admitted they weren’t privy to the new villain designs for the final couple of episodes.
  10. Definitely, we can see that even Hasbro’s output for Mando S3 is fairly meagre with some R5 figures, the Black Series Mandalorian Fleet Commander, and the admittedly awesome looking Vintage Collection N1. There’s no denying Lucasfilm are incredibly selective about what they share with their licensees.
  11. I wonder how likely it is that the three Spidey minifigures from the NWH set have: - Arm printing - Dual moulded legs - Alternate heads to recreate the pre-battle banter It’s a tall (scratch that, colossal) order especially for Marvel minifigures, but as the only summer set that actually sounds interesting I sincerely hope Lego doesn’t cheap out on this set.
  12. Definitely! June is just over a month away so the barrage of pictures should begin pretty soon I’d hope. Of all these upcoming sets, I’m probably most excited for the Battle of Hogwarts and, of all things, the Quidditch Trunk. The idea of the set just sounds like a lot of fun.
  13. I won’t buy any, but these sets are just really cool in general and kids will love the playability. I’m glad Lego is at least getting one videogame theme right.
  14. By the sounds of things, the Ahsoka sets at least seem like a big step up in terms of minifigures and potentially builds too compared to the Mando S3 sets, which I’m frankly glad about as I think the former will be a vastly better show than the latter.
  15. @The Stud I completely agree. After having sat on Mando S3 now that it’s over, I feel the overall storytelling and cohesion of the season pales in comparison to the first two. Because of that, I can’t say I’m genuinely excited for the Lego sets, at least not the way I was for the Season 2 wave back in 2021 (which, despite not being perfect, was a pretty excellent selection of scenes from the show). The S3 sets for the most part feel like merchandise for the sake of merchandise, rather than meaningful portrayals of the scenes in the show. Doesn’t help that the vast majority of the 4 sets we’re getting are just more grey models. So hyped for the summer though, that’s where the real goodness will be. All that’s missing is a set based on Jedi: Survivor, but Lego never really got their timing right with tie-ins to the games anyway.
  16. I mostly agree with you but would make the argument that what we got for Kenobi and Andor was quite accurate to the source material. The Kenobi vs. Vader Duel especially was extremely accurate in terms of location, characters, and functions, even if the set itself was boring. The Mando S3 Lego sets and merchandise in general definitely seem more loose in terms of accuracy and desirability, though that’s me projecting a subjective opinion. Really the best things we’re getting out of the tie-in sets are the largest set (or at least the builds) and the fantastic Bo-Katan minifigure. It’ll be interesting to see the staying power of Mando Season 3, overall opinions on it aren’t as enthusiastic as they were for S1 and S2, but still I’d be surprised if we don’t get another set or two next year to round off the more interesting scenes.
  17. I’m all for a Gauntlet that sits at a higher non-UCS price point. The 2020 one was serviceable, but ultimately it was just a two pilot craft that failed to do justice to how cool the ship really is. Re-evaluating the ship with a 1000-1500 piece count would work wonders. You can fit in a proper cockpit for the ship, a small hangar to deploy Mandalorians from the back, and maintain the spinning wings. On the topic of the latest episode though, I suspect that Lego just didn’t know about the new characters due to Lucasfilm being secretive as always. Seems far more likely than Lego knowing of them, but choosing not to represent them in minifigure form. Lucasfilm’s notorious levels of secrecy feels frustrating, because you can even see that with the Hasbro ‘Mando Mania’ reveals, most products are either based on the Book of Boba Fett, or are ‘safe’ bets on Mando S3 like the N-1. My only concern with getting more Mando sets is Lego’s new release pattern - i.e. tiny January wave, sizeable Spring sets typically to coincide with a new show, and then a deluge of awesome sets in the summer / autumn period. Realistically, the earliest I can see us getting these is next summer, and that’s if Lego can accommodate them in between basing sets on 2024 and legacy content.
  18. I wouldn’t worry, the existing Course Builder system is intended to run for a good few years still (at the very least). The theme seems to be in a good strong place. I do find it interesting that compared to most Lego sets which purely occupy the physical side of things, each wave of Super Mario obviously requires development for the not just the physical sets but also the firmware / software updates necessary for all three digi-figures. Perhaps that’s why there’s no new digi-figure or buildable characters this summer, as Lego wanted to focus more on the playset side of things. Synchronising the physical play features with correctly stimulating the sensors within the digi-figures is an awesome feat overall on Lego’s end. Even as someone who typically eschews these sets, it’s most impressive.
  19. Oh for sure, I’ve no doubt we’ll get these missing characters sooner rather than later :D
  20. GWPs aren’t bad to be honest, but unfortunately not enough to get me to splurge on LSW in May. After watching that latest Mandalorian episode, I feel so disappointed in the minifigure lineup for that Fang Fighter set - but the rest of the year’s sets are so good that I’m happy to overlook it. I wonder what ever happened to that Mando S3 set Lego Fulcrum was teasing a few months back. Either they were mistaken or this will instead be a 2024 set. Overall, whilst the builds of the Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor set are phenomenal and that Bo Katan figure is awesome, I’d say coverage of Mandalorian Season 3 this year has been fairly weak overall in terms of characters and figures. I do hope we get a spoiler set next year that gives us
  21. Pure conjecture on my part, but Lego merchandise on a specific license probably sells better than more specific merchandise like action figures and bobble heads. At least with Lego sets, they’re full of interesting parts, minifigures, and builds that be appropriated for other interests. @Tariq j Thanks for sharing that, interesting read! I was a kid when the first Indy wave launched so I don’t remember much, but I do recall there was a LOT of hype for Lego Indy back then going by online websites and forums.
  22. I’m thinking that a lot of toy companies still remember the burnout that came from the 2008-9 Indy merchandise, a lot of which got put on clearance fairly quickly. Lego made so many sets, Hasbro made goodness knows how many figures across different scales and play patterns etc. The merchandise push we’re seeing now is much more tempered and focused on guaranteed sellers. I’m sure Funko will produce 340,450,000 POPs over the coming year because, well, they’re Funko, but Hasbro’s output is certainly more adult-focused. The only kids toys they’re producing are the handful of ‘Worlds of Adventure’ toys, a role play whip, and a large electronic Indy figure - a far cry from the swathes of merchandise we saw 15 years ago.
  23. Definitely. And I suspect these films won’t be full of OT vehicle rehashes due to their timeline placements, no doubt we’re in for some great sets in the coming years. I’m excited for all of them, but Mangold’s film just sounds spectacular. The very first Jedi? Discovery of the Force? Set 25,000 years in the past? Thinking about the aesthetic of an ‘ancient’ Galaxy just gives me goosebumps.
  24. The stuff from Ahsoka is just reaffirming it’s my most highly anticipated show this year. I’m still in disbelief that the show is getting such good Lego coverage already this year.
  25. It seems like toys based on DoD are just minimal compared to the classic films. Maybe companies don’t want to risk going overboard on a film they’re unsure about?
