Heroica RPG - Quest #97: Infestation
Comrade Commander replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
Darksten looks around at the grime, and gets an idea "Hey Crowley, how about we start cleaning up this place by starting with a good washing." Darksten says, as he points to the water bomb on the cleric's hip. "Then we can mop up with their bodies" Suggested order of battle: Crowley: Water Bomb (back) Hoang Anh: Chilly Ant B (front) (this way we can possibly take out a critter, but your call) Darksten: Hardy Ant B (back)- 237 replies

ooc: I had forgotten to bold, but any chance we can get Crowley' inventory updated? Looking at this fight, we definitely might need a quick heal later. Lol! Also, can you confirm my poison was used, or do I need to apply it in combat?- 237 replies

Ambassador Project - Sub-Theme Suggestions - POLL RESULTS
Comrade Commander replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I selected "The Settlers" becauase I think it has the opportunity for everyone to get what they want. --The settlers themselves provide that civilian population everyone wants (with both a rustic/simple theme, as well as the opportunity for a large/well-established port to trade with). This means we can also have a rag-tag militia, and the trim & proper imperial soldiers. --Pirates are a must obviously. I almost picked the "West Brick trading Co." but I did not like the smuggler theme. I could be proven wrong, but I don't think that the concept would translate well to a Lego set. Most sets already have a hidden storage play feature, and other than that it will look like any other pirate/merchant ship. Having pirates gives the option of more grimy looking minifigures, and more diversity in set appearance. A port full of smugglers and merchant ships, is just going to look like a normal port. Kids, and adults, want true conflict/battle and I don't think you are going to get it with the smuggler theme. -- Islanders are also a cool theme because it adds a whole different element. We can see more of the ornate temples, and sets with play traps, etc. This is where I see a lot of the unique pieces, and play features. -

Darksten looks at the large beasts, and reaches for the small vial in his pocket. Without taking his eyes off the monsters, he spreads poison over his arrow supply "Well then it is best we get this over with fast then"- 237 replies

"Hmpf" Darksten thinks to himself as he hears the insects whisper. He eyes the logs, counting eight that had to be sorted through. It was fortunate though that they had chosen this room last. With a smile to no one in particular, he hands the Cleric his weapon back "All right gents, here's the plan. 1.) We take these logs and spread them around the room so that none are touching each other. 2.) Hoang Anh, you go grab those papers from the game back in the other room and bring them to me. 3.) Once the knight is back, the knight and I will take the paper, Crowley's matches, and a log each up to the room above and light the fireplace 4.) One at a time we will burn the logs, and any bugs inside will be cooked. 5.) Crowley, you will stay down here with your light and watch to make sure no bugs try to escape" Darksten raises his voice just a little bit, switching to clicks and shakes so the bugs understand "I almost feel bad for the bugs, burning to death is not fun. I would almost prefer to just quickly getting stomped on and having it done and over with quickly"- 237 replies

Ambassador Project - Definition of Design Constraints
Comrade Commander replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Here are my suggestions/hopes: Build style and technique - target audience: ---target audience should be kids, with a build style similar to the old pirates. Blocky forts that look sturdy, and ships that are meant to be played with and not sit on a shelf. Number of minifigs, amount of printing, number of colours, design style (black lining) printing constraints ---I would like to see a return of white and yellow for land buildings vs the new white and tan scheme. Definitely yellow minifigures! I always prefer printed pieces as well, but understand not always reasonable. Should have printing on smaller pieces like maps/signs, but if have to use stickers for exposed bricks on walls, that is fine I guess. New parts ---Minimal new molds (exception for minifigure accessories), what I am interested in is new printed tiles like maps/signs/etc. I think a great theme could be created from the molds Lego currently has. Minimisation of the number of unique parts ---I think the bulk of the construct should be made from the standard brick, not a fancy new piece/minifigure. Especially no new large pieces. What is unique should not appear in every set either. Legal connections ---Would prefer simple old school builds with maybe a touch of new. Nothing along the lines of the modulars though where a bunch of new uses are thought up and used. Connected builds - no loose bricks ---I would prefer sets be on base plates if land themed. Other than that I don't mind loose cargo, cannon, etc so long as it blends ok. Accessibility - gap/door sizes, interior depths. ---Standard Lego style with open back design and some interior. Doesn't have to be too detailed, so long as it gets the point across and helps the story Play function / story telling ---I don't like/need flick fire missiles or collapsing sails. I want the play feature to be derived from the story. The fun should be kids pushing their ships around or marching their minifigures. A strong story would greatly enhance the sets I think. I am on my mobile so can't get into too much more depth, but happy to expand if needed... -

"Oh, thanks, I will be quick" Darksten says, surprised by the offered weapon. He takes it and holds it close (but not too close) and slowly circles the room looking for any bugs or other items thrown about- 237 replies

"The way this place is built, I feel one wrong move and everyone would be left out in the cold...with frost nipping at their nose... However, your storch does have a controlled flame on it, so if you don't mind bringinging in further so we can see a little better. Would be appreciated..."- 237 replies

"Yeah, not what I would have preferred. However, they are making life for a human unbearable so had to be dealt with." Darksten says, pausing to reflect on his contract with the little girl "Let's head back to the foyer, and then take the door to the right, to head back to the room with stairs and crates"- 237 replies

Darksten had run out of questions to ask, and the bugs had clearly hit the end of their knowledge. It pained him slightly to have to extinguish them since they had helped him, but in his ranking of living things, bugs fell at the very bottom. "Thank you very much for your assistance today. I wish you best of luck in your next adventure" With that, Darksten signaled to his companions for everyone to squish the tiny insects- 237 replies

"Let's play question and answer. I ask a question, and you answer... First. Since it appears you are well organized, and like to explore, what can you tell us about the larger insects that have appeared lately in your house? Second. Since you have clearly observed humans/giants like us before, and thus know our games, what can you tell us about the other humans/giants that were here prior to us. Third. Since you are intelligent enough to understand human skills/communication, or else you wouldn't be able to understand the rules of that game, what other things have you seen the humans in this house use which might be of benefit to my party and I. Anything that seems to help them heal each other, regenerate energy, or tools to improve their defense/work"- 237 replies
