Comrade Commander

Darksten had finished his sorting and had moved on to watching the bustle of the hall while sipping on a beverage from the bar. When the two new quests were posted, he meandered over to sign up for both. The reward of toys and instruments didn't sound that exciting, but making friends with a powerful family never hurt. Plus it beat sitting around... Darksten signs up for quests #124 & #125.

Darksten watches the new quest gets pinned to the board and quickly walks over to sign up for quest #122 "Sheep, hmm, that was at least one area I was good at in the Field of Glory" he thinks to himself.

Darksten trades in his cards for their respective prizes and leaves the casino. Ooc: I am on mobile for the holidays, so cannot make this pretty looking/update stats just yet. Didn't want to miss opportunity though.

Darksten walks into the hall, only to face more disappointment at the lack of available quests. At least his usual booth is available, and he plops himself down there to sort through his inventory.

Darksten awakens to a bitter taste in his mouth, one that he cannot decide if it is the sting of defeat or the saliva of the goat. Either way he is not happy. With a nod and kind word to the farmer and barn animals, the ranger collects his belongings and heads back to the hall, saving his points for another day Ooc: Thanks for the quest!

The rogue falls to the poison of the dryad, leaving Darksten alone to face the horde. He knew his final moments were coming close, but wished they would not have to occur during an event others considered easy. At least his aim remained true, and his arrows were finding their marks. Darksten continued to unload his crossbow towards the approaching foes from the back until he could no longer

Darksten watches happily as his arrow strikes true. he quickly repeats by firing again, hoping his aim remains as good.

Darksten sees the short rogue dive for cover behind a tree, and then sees the enemies shift to instead converge on the wise sage. The healing effects of the potion still coursing through the ranger's blood, he is able to withstand the attack from behind, but sees the old companion with him sucumb to the unrelenting horde. He weighed his options and knew it was time to make a final stand, hoping only to take as many enemies with him as he could. Darksten quickly loads a bolt, and fires toward Chesire Cat A from the back row. "Bring it" he mutters

ooc: Here is the thing, if we drop the Phoenix Essence, and Grimwald attacks, we still take three free hits which will chip away at our health leaving us in a rough spot. I think we are burning through consumables without much result and are on a slippery slope. One bad roll and it could kill us. There also aren't really any other places to go either as the only other "easy" field is beyond this one. If we cannot handle this, I doubt we will handle a more difficult one.... Unless we can think of a miracle, I am for just seeing how many shots we can get in before getting knocked out. I wouldn't mind going on a normal quest.

"I'm sorry, perhaps you must have been blinded by a reflection off your lamp. I don't squirm for something so trivial as a friendly card game." Darksten says as he plays Pterodactyl (Flying 7). He then plays his Unicorn (Luminous 6) to close out the game hoping he at least still wins despite what he said

Grumbling, Darksten takes a potion from the back row

"I am quite capable of making my own way thank you" Darksten says as he plays his gargoyle (rock 4) Followed by his wil-o'-the wisp (fiery 1)

Random question, can we trade glory points from the Fields of Glory between players? The rules of the field don't mention it from what I see, and I tried to do a search and didn't come up with anything. Thanks!

Darksten towards the Chesire Cat A from the back row, growing tired of being attacked by "easy" enemies.

Darksten follows the party back to the orahard, only to find the enemies before him had changed their battle positions. His plans would have to be changed, as if some higher being had been in his mind and wanted to mess with him. None the less, Darksten loaded a bolt and fired towards Chesire Cat A from the back

Darksten settles down at the table with his new opponent. It was certainly not the field of battle from which he had been sucked away from not to long ago, but this would still test the ranger. He plays his Dune Ghoul (rock 3)

ooc: I am ready and like I said, I am willing to do a famine challenge and not get loot if people want. But if people want loot to divide between the three of us at the end, that is fine too.

"I agree with leaving those bears to the end. However, give me the second cat to take on and maybe I can get an indirect shot off at the Bears from time to time. If we don't want to play fair, I am willing to not get any loot as nothing I saw the enemy holding appealed to me." Darksten says to the crew

With the healing vibes of the sages prayer soothing him, and his stomach satisfied by the chicken leg, Darksten was ready to return to the battle "You'll ready to try again?" He asks his companions.

Once the smoke fills the apple orchard, Darksten made a beeline for safety. Once there, he tried to look busy by eating his chicken leg

I am neutral about the height, I didn't realize any difference to be honest. As for the content, well I felt it was a good attempt but not my favorite. The "snow gust" (or bad photoshop) by the second elf's arm really just bothers me. I also think the faces of the first elf and Mrs Clause don't work the best. I get the philosophy behind them, but they don't scream winter to me. I picture the reindeer as being fed cookies anyways, and even of they aren't Mrs Claus would laugh something like that off anyways. Just my thoughts, and I like the other parts of it!

As Darksten shifts targets, the rogue next to him succumbs to wounds previously unseen by the ranger. Despite his covering fire, the party hadn't recovered well from the last round. Now the Sage was dragging the limp rogue towards the tree line with a smoke bomb held in the other hand signaling his intent to depart. Unwilling to leave the field of battle at first, Darksten kept his crossbow trained on the menacing eyes of the second Cheshire Cat, but could feel the tantalizing vines of the Dryad curl along the ground by his feet. The whisper of bugbear fur against the apple trees filled the void once occupied by his companions, and a soft purring echoed from the darkness of the upper branches. The ranger knew he could not last long without the other heroes protecting his flank. Carefully moving backwards, the ranger moved towards the path they had previously traversed. He was ready to "tactfully withdraw" when the Sage threw the smoke bomb Ooc: ok, just let me eat the chicken leg before I get healed.

Darksten lays down a field of fire as his companions look after themselves. As they regain their composurer, Darksten shifts to attack Chesire Cat B from the back row

Darksten watches as his arrow misses when the bear quickly shifts to hug his fellow companions. As the ranger loads another bolt, he sees the rogue indicating that the cat buried in the tree line should be his next target. Darksten hesitates, hating to shift targets, but decides it might be best to widely down the others before going after the quicker bears. He attacks Cheshire Cat A from the back
