  1. I switch to a die with all the '6's rolled out of it and repeat.
  2. That depends on whether the instructions are in the style of TLG instructions from the 80's or TLG instructions nowadays.
  3. Yes, but you still need to streamline it somewhat, I think. You want a 'used universe' look, but you don't want it to look like a giant blue brick with a wing and an engine attached.
  4. From now on, we're going to be trying a weekly awarding of free build XP, and I've also increased the number of judges. We'll be awarding XP on the weekend for the builds from the previous week. You won't be getting XP on a daily basis like when SoNE started, but this should ensure that you don't wait months for it — that was just unacceptable.
  5. You've got the core of the shape down, and the roof looks good. I agree with MstrOfPppts, that it could use some texturing on the sides. Maybe some random exposed greebles, a ladder and hatch, an open cargo bay, some vents... To me, it also feels like it's about to tip over and do a nosedive of sorts if it hits a rock or a steeply descending slope. I think it needs some sort of support in front of the treads, even if it's just one pair of wheels, and I think sloping the back end would help with that and make the shape more interesting at the same time. (See this shot of the studio model.)
  6. As far as trying to make it look like a Mandalorian version of the Twilight, if that was your intention, you've got a decent start. I think the fuselage is on the blocky side, though. I'd try to smooth it out, whether that be with slopes or tiles or SNOTed angled plates. Some of the bricks also kind of look haphazardly placed, because of their color or because they stick out a little. I think that with those changes, the realism (if that can be said of a fictional sci-fi universe) of the model will be improved.
  7. Looks pretty good! I like it. One thing that I'd change — and this is something that I had a lot of trouble with and still haven't fixed on my own TIE x1 (in minifig scale) — the cockpit is significantly larger than you would think it should be when you're building it, by at least a stud in this case. (See this shot of the studio model.)
  8. As this isn't a completed build, I've changed the title from 'MOC' to 'WIP'.
  9. Great to see this posted here; as I've said, it's awesome! The engine area's probably my favorite. (Do the tires come in that light bley color?) I just love how when you build in excruciating detail based on the studio model, every camera angle makes the ship look perfect.
  10. One of the fundamental ideas about SoNE is that it's a running community build with everyone building similar things and incentives for them to help each other. Jump in; other builders will offer advice and you'll get better.
  11. Let's try not to insult people who were just trying to help. You can point new members in the right direction without calling them 'annoying', however mild of an insult that might be. Although it is worth saying that YouTube videos are generally not reliable and not good sources of any new news, and also pretty much every time you see upcoming set news in a YouTube video, the news originated somewhere else and has already spread to a number of LEGO sites. (Assuming that the original source was believable and assuming that the YouTube poster isn't just making things up, of course.) I also have to agree with Darth Dino that it's much better to post a text list than to embed a video. That being said, there's no rule that strictly says you can't embed videos of set news. Just check the first post before posting news, because everything we know in this thread and the sources are listed there, and you're less likely to appear annoying, n00bish, or silly to other members.
  12. Thanks to member bkctsang, we have a clear image of the TC-4 promo polybag. At the moment, it's available through Toys 'R' Us in Hong Kong, where the first 150 customers to spend HK $1200 will receive a random polybag: either this one, White Boba Fett, or Chrome Darth Vader. Discuss in the 2014 Pictures and Rumors topic in the Star Wars forum!
