Review: 7754 Home One™ Mon Calamari Starcruiser™
Brickdoctor replied to valentin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think he's talking about the Chrome Vaders that were randomly placed in sets, just like the Chrome Threepio. (Ten thousand of them, if I remember correctly.) If you buy a set MISB that was affected by that promotion, then in theory, there's a chance that you'll get a Chrome Vader. I don't remember whether or not this set was included, though. -
But then you're either discussing what new sets we might get based on new Star Wars content, which would belong in Future Star Wars Sets, or what new Star Wars content we might see based on new sets, which would belong in the Star Wars topic in Culture and Multimedia. Bottom line: if it isn't directly about confirmed sets or rumored sets with a source for 2014, then it doesn't belong here. And again, I appreciate the intention, but there's no need to try to tie an off-topic discussion in to the on-topic discussion. It was off-topic, and so it was asked that it be stopped. Best just to leave it at that and get right back to what actually is on-topic.
-
The Sandcrawler was mentioned here. I don't think we've heard anything solid about a Slave I; I think it's just one of the things people in this topic often list as a set they wish for.
-
I appreciate the intention, but your post isn't on-topic, either. You're now discussing the content of Episode VII and what you think we'll see in Episode VII. If that was about sets, then it belongs in Future Star Wars Sets, if it was about minifigs, then it belongs in Most Wanted Star Wars Characters, and if it's just about content in the movie, then it belongs in the topic in Culture and Multimedia.

Enough! Stop the OT/PT/CW debate, and in the case of OBI-WAN37, don't post the same thing multiple times into multiple topics. (In this case, this topic, then twice in the Star Wars topic in Culture and Multimedia, then back here even though you'd already started the same discussion somewhere else and it had already been pointed out to you that the discussion didn't belong here.) Everyone's already been told more than enough times what does and doesn't belong in this topic.
-
Yes but, as I said, the storyline was fantastic.[...] The scene Freddy Bricker's talking about is from Empire, not the PT.
-
I don't think I've really heard that many complaints about the CGI in the PT itself. ILM always does a great job with that. I hear complaints about the acting, I hear complaints that using CGI made the acting even worse, I hear complaints that the storyline was bad, and I've heard that the aesthetic of the PT wasn't as Star Wars-y, but I've never heard that many complaints that the CGI effects themselves were awful in the PT. At least for me, I prefer the OT models to the PT CGI because I like the look and feel of the OT models better and because a studio model usually makes a better LEGO model. That doesn't mean I think the PT CGI is necessarily always bad, it's just not preferred.

Heroica RPG - Quest #85: Visions of an Unblinking Terror
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Yes, good point." I examine the corpses with my Magnifying Glass, I check the ceiling for traps, and, if none are found, I poke the ceiling with my Shovel. -
Sorry, I was trying to sound exaggeratedly shocked and oblivious to the fact that you could possibly not swoosh and still enjoy a model. I fully support swooshing.
-
It's possible to enjoy a model of a flying vehicle without swooshing it?

OoC: I have a Magnifying Glass? When did I get that? "Thank you, Miss Uq." I examine the corpses with my Magnifying Glass, I check the ceiling for traps, and, if none are found, I poke the ceiling with my Shovel. -
So... what is still missing in the LEGO line-up?
Brickdoctor replied to HJR-Holland's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sorry, HJR, but we really don't see any reason for this to be a separate thread. It may be more specific than Future Star Wars Sets because you exclude remakes, but that means that it's still under the same topic as Future Star Wars Sets. The purpose of Future Star Wars Sets, after all, encompasses both ideas for remakes and new ideas for sets. We also already have a thread for minifigs that you want to see. I've discussed this with other staff, and we agree that this doesn't need to be its own topic. I'll move posts over to Future Star Wars Sets... Also, I know you started this topic, but that doesn't mean you have the authority to moderate it. Please don't act like staff by repeatedly telling members to stay on topic. Thanks. -
The Brickish Association did one several years ago.

Are we sure that the T-47 is System-scale? The kiddiwinks page has been taken down, but I remember that there was something in parentheses after its set name there that had something to do with vehicles. I can't remember exactly what that was, but for whatever reason, it led me to write down in the first post that it might be a Microfighter.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Brickdoctor replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
There's a list of Duplo promo bricks on Bricklink; you can't sort it by theme, but since it's in alphabetical order by exact part name, most of the Star Wars ones are halfway down page four. As far as LLCA is concerned, the list looks complete: '05, '07, '08, '09, '10. (And then after that, if I remember correctly from the last time I asked an LLCA employee about it, they stopped giving away all Duplo promo bricks.) -
Welcome to EB.

Yes, a stud will fit perfectly into the Technic hole, and it's usually a legal connection, too. (If you put a 1x1 cone into a Technic hole, that's illegal because the cone can be forced further into the hole, compressing and stressing the pieces. If you put the stud(s) of a brick with stud(s) on side into the hole(s) of a Technic brick, you can't have bricks or plates on top or on the bottom of them connecting them, because the distance between the center of the hole and the distance between the center of the stud are ever so slightly different. And if you go the other way, putting a pin into a hole intended for a stud, that is usually always illegal since it compresses the pin.)
-
It depends on the type of 1x1 tile with clip that you get. The older ones with the thicker, more squarish, dull-looking clips are a little more flexible; they'll probably be fine with the slight stress of not being clipped all the way. The newer ones with the rounder, shinier-looking clips are harder and will either crack or force themselves all the way on or all the way off. (or both) In any case, the stud-in-Technic-hole is a very robust connection, and especially considering the low weight of those fins that it's holding in place, that single connection shouldn't be a problem. Clips could still be used if you like the way it fills in the area, though.
-
Ah, I see, so it's technically an illegal connection, but LDD gets close enough that it lets it slip.
-
Those clips on the tail fins attach to the steering wheels perfectly-spaced? Huh, I'd never noticed that.

I just want to clarify: while I can't speak for HJR, it seems clear that the point of this topic was "What would happen to you if LEGO Star Wars disappeared?", not "Do you think LEGO Star Wars will disappear?". I don't think any of us believe it's actually going to be discontinued any time in the foreseeable future. The premise of the question posed in this topic is that LSW has already disappeared; assume that and then describe your response.
