  1. Is it a conversation from before the last major board upgrade? None of those conversations will notify you in the black menu bar at the top of the page; you have to go to your PM page and click on the folder for new conversations.
  2. If that's a reference to something, I don't get it, sorry.
  3. The bent in the middle design does look a lot better. The drawback there is that you get that slight hump. Not as exaggerated and ugly as in the official set, but it'll be there. Maybe try some of the old style hinges that aren't thicker than a plate at any point. That way you could keep both hulls straight and hinged to the engine area, and complete the triangle with a connection somewhere in the bow area.
  4. Contact George Lucas if you need any CGI effects in your retcon.
  5. Also, I'm no expert on this roleplaying thing ( ), but aren't these supposed to be analyses of characters and less so summaries of their Heroica careers?
  6. You're only supposed to review the hero of the last member to do a review. So in this case, Atramor.
  7. I've been figbarfing for the last few days for my next quest. I've picked up a bunch of CMFs and quite a few Lord of the Rings minifigs, and I finally had time to start making some new minifig combinations. So, teaser for my next quest: I know I saw the backwards-Lion-Knight-torso-with-blue-arms idea somewhere before... I think it was Ecclesiastes' entry for Historica's Fifth Guild Challenge. I played around with it, added some almost-dwarven hair and head combos, noticed that Boromir could be easily adapted into a noble of the same faction, and *boom*, order of knights from a kingdom with arctic conditions.
  8. Oh, okay. The shuriken-throwing Crusader thing, though, is funny because it's one of those ridiculous things that got created as a result of the things we did when we were all Heroica's first newbs. You can't really purposely create something equally ridiculous and end up with something equally funny or infamous.
  9. Is that a reference to something? I'm not familiar with it.
  10. Crusaders have already appeared in a quest, though; I used them as the old uniform of the Kingdom of the Lion. (In the Dastan Trilogy introduction, the king of the Lions uses the Crusader torso, and in my interlude for Quest 53, it's a part of the oldest suit of armor in the hall that Luke and Leonard walk through to get to the library.)I did consider including shuriken-throwing Crusaders in Quest 4 as a random encounter, but I thought it was a concept so ridiculous that it was better left as one of those silly things we did when the game first started. Something to which we could still have fun making references, but something which shouldn't actually be seen in a quest.
  11. Yes, and it was hilarious. Don't tell DD I said that.
  12. Yes, definitely. And think of all the Star Wars quotes you can use!
  13. There you go, it makes perfect sense. Also, make sure to install hidden compartments below the lower deck (There's a section there for ballast usually, right? Not too familiar with the smaller ships of this era.), and definitely hire a Pongcanis first mate.
  14. I don't think it would be chaos. Most likely just anyone who bothered to fight beating up xxlrocka.
  15. I didn't realize people still remembered that MOC. It was the first one I posted when I joined EB. (Warning! n00b-style posts.)You've got a solid start there; good work on your first MOC. One thing that I think really separates the great Star Destroyers at this size from the good ones is that the bottom hull should be angled upwards towards the bow. That way, you won't have that gap that's growing larger between the top and bottom of the hull from the side docking bays to the nose. The strongest way to do that is with a triangle of Technic beams, just like TLG did in their Midi-scale Imperial-class Star Destroyer. (My Venator uses a bunch of clips and bars and hinges to fit it into a smaller space - you don't want to do that if you don't have to. Very fragile.) And welcome to EB!
  16. Guts the male human Rogue likes to sail his ship around for pleasure. Nerwen the elven Cleric offered it's use as a smuggler's ship. Please rename it the Millennium Falcon.
  17. The price is fair, I'm just not sure if it's a consumable I want to spend Gold on, considering that I don't play a Gold-gaining class and usually have a lot of expenses...
  18. I'm not sure. QMs often try to get around my SP, so more might not always be better against stronger enemies, and in other cases, my current HP is often enough. I also prefer not to become to reliant on consumables that aren't readily available, so I think right now I prefer Mulled Wine to Ambrosia. If I have a consumable that isn't readily available, I usually don't apply it until I'm in a battle, by which time I usually don't want to waste a Turn to use it. Maybe I'd buy one...depending on how much you want.
  19. My SP is actually down to 23 right now, but my effective SP when in the Back Row and taking a Free Hit is now up to 92.
  20. You can start by reviewing Docken. He should be pretty easy to review, and I wouldn't do well at reviewing anyone else anyways.
  21. If I was the QM, I'd just refuse to auto-roll. You want infinite Gold, you can have it. But no XP, no loot, and the Gold will come slowly.
  22. Yes, and I know of a couple ways. If that's what they're doing, though, it's not very efficient. (There's still the possibility they could get overrun, they have heroes other than the Gold-gainer attacking, and if they're counting on the loot, 20 Gold per enemy isn't a lot.)
  23. "Not heroes by the strictest definition of the word, perhaps, but that is what the public seems to refer to us as. Probably largely out of respect for the six original Veterans. Yes, I suppose lounging in a hall enjoying the free food and drink and waiting for the next quest with the best reward doesn't exactly embody the noble qualities one would expect to see in a hero. The heroic achievements and the bravery, they are certainly there, but the willingness to sacrifice oneself and the performing of such acts simply for the good of others...not always."
  24. Quest 64 heroes, are you trying to get infinite Gold from those Ambushers, or is there another reason you don't just Poison them and then wait for them to die? They're only Level 5; Alexander and Quellir can tank their Free Hits easily.
  25. <starwarsgeek>I've seen examples of both basic arrangements: complement-verb-subject ("Powerful Jedi was he." "A domain of evil it is." "So certain are you.") and complement-subject-verb ("My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained"* "The Dark Side of the Force are they." "A powerful ally it is."). So both would technically be correct based on what we've seen before. (At least in Empire) That being said, I agree that "NY, I love" sounds better than "NY love I". *This one's actually a little tricky; if you rearrange the basic groups of words you'd end up with the question "Will I keep my own counsel on who is to be trained?" instead of the statement. But the basic arrangement is the same, complement-subject-verb. </starwarsgeek>
