  1. I never really tried to draw from any existing culture nor did Dastan remind me of any of them while I was building for it. I just took what JimB and Zeph did and ran with it, since they're much better at this character development and storyline thing. I've never seen Prince of Persia, so I have no idea how similar it is to that. (Though the first build of a Drakencourt building was I believe the armory that JimB did using mostly PoP set pieces, and since we both had scenes at that location I used that as the base for a lot of the Dastanian architecture in my sets.)
  2. Yeah, Sandy, give him back his bow and shield! Docken doesn't care about activities like lounging around when you can't gain loot or increase stats, so he always has all his equipment with him. (And information doesn't count as something you can gain doing leisurely stuff in the Hall; since Docken will know it through me whether he's there or not.)
  3. I admit that I wasn't closely following the quest; I have no problem with what you did if that was the case. I was more just agreeing with what Zeph said and adding that I would do something similar (to what he said) depending on the situation. Now if you prioritized stats over roleplaying... (Also, the other heroes wouldn't think you're a traitor if you didn't do that.)
  4. Well the Shire is supposedly around England, the Chronicles of Narnia take place in England while in our universe, Camelot is near England... would you really be that surprised if medieval fantasy Eubric turned out to be in England? Should I put a cape back onto Docken?
  5. Depends on which Advanced Class you choose, you could start preparing for that.* Otherwise if you want to deal more Damage, you can start adding some elemental modifiers.*I have no idea what your plans are, but I assume you'll pick Raider. Assassin isn't built for true Damage-dealing and you'd probably want to get a ranged weapon when you already have a good melee one. Black Knight is a good option, but isn't as much of a Damage-dealer and good Gold-gainer as Raider is. Sorcerer is a very versatile class, but won't be able to take full advantage of your main weapon since effects of a weapon aren't inherited when using it for spells. Witch...is a completely different class which can be very powerful, but it doesn't gain Gold so you wouldn't be able to continue upgrading your scissors. I guess if you wanted to roleplay you might pick Black Knight, your character having formerly been in an army.
  6. Of course, I didn't mean that the cultures should exactly match. I was just pointing out that looking at the shape of the continents, it looks like that's where Rome should be, if there was a Rome in this universe. (Which there shouldn't be.) The culture part was my realization when saying that Charis was close to Rome that Charis is around France, comparing the geography of those four central continents to earth.
  7. Even if I weren't someone who doesn't really like CW/PT, I think I would still hope that Ahsoka would not return. I'm not a TCW fan and definitely not an Ahsoka fan, and I still think she got a well-done, emotional, dramatic ending that was the best of the concluding episodes to a TCW season. It was like Assaj Ventress' original ending: just disappears into who-knows-where. I know some people want to know what happens next, but sometimes you already have a good ending that works even if it leaves a question or two unanswered, and you've just got to leave it alone. Don't mess with the OT storyline too much, don't make things more complicated; you made a character specifically for the role of prominent apprentice in a CW-era show, she finished that role, you gave her a great last appearance - time to move on.
  8. Docken would probably tell him not to do that, too, if he was Party Leader. I mean, he'd understand it because it's prioritizing stats, but unless this is a situation where the party doesn't need the big Damage-dealers to be, you know, actually putting that Damage to use towards winning the battle... It depends on the situation. Docken is all for heroes trying to break/exploit the system and get huge amounts of Gold, as long as it doesn't come at the expense of winning the battle, finishing the quest, and getting XP and the reward. It's a limitation of the time period and genre. I've tried doing minifigs with brighter color schemes, but for the most part they don't look right. (They look almost sci-fi when you throw in the oranges.) One bright color is okay, but it usually has to complement a darker color. Plus there's usually a bright splash thrown in by default because of yellow skin. The Lion Knights are the brightest I've done and sometimes do the bright red and gold scheme, but they pretty much always also have sections of greys and blacks in there, too. (Forestmen might be an exception, if you consider the brown minor enough, although their color scheme works because it's so well-known and almost stereotypical. Though green is usually considered one of the cool colors, even if it is a lighter brighter shade.)
  9. I removed the sentence that only applied to the original topic, so now your post makes more sense.
  10. Isn't that where Nammyra's from? She doesn't look very Roman.
  11. Oops. That's tricky then, because most classes don't take Damage on a roll of 4. Usually it's a Miss or a Meditate or a minor action like Aim or Heal Less. I can understand the ruling in this case. (The Damage taken was still applied to Atramor's Defenses and modifiers, right?) Hammer Space.
  12. Well, if you compare features on the map of Olegaia to those of earth, the continent with the Abra Desert looks just like Africa, the continent with Dastan is the right shape and position of Europe, the High Kingdoms, Low Kingdoms, and Mistaria are somewhat shaped like North and South America, the Free Islands are in the Caribbean, and Värtland is Greenland. So that would put Rome just east of Charis, which fits with the fact that Charisian culture is based on that of France.
  13. I don't think Tesni can Counter if the Damage is redirected to Atramor, right? The Damage is redirected and then calculated, not calculated then redirected, so it's just a plain Damage roll for Atramor. (This is also why the Damage is only affected by the defenses and immunities of the hero with Aura, not the hero who rolled it, as I said last time.)
  14. I believe it was 900 for them and the Stingy Gloves.
  15. Welcome to EB, IronFish. On this forum, all custom minifigs are posted in the Minifig Customization Workshop, regardless of their theme and even if they're purist customs. I'll move this there for you.
  16. That's the closest I can find to a Star Wars quote.
  17. OoC: Oh, I didn't realize that (That he could understand it, not that Metasimians weren't animals. ). I just remembered you translating for us during Quest 14, and didn't know if it was just when he spoke to us or when we spoke to him also. "And for the better, not for the worse. Though I would not mind if it remained unchanged until I got back, or at least remained such that I would get a chance to be in the party that confronts Baba."
  18. "No, sorry. Perhaps when I return, if the situation has changed, I will be forced to reconsider. Yes, we've quested together before for this same employer. Thank you, and good luck to you as well.""Master Hoptet, best of luck with the language; it certainly is a mix of a number of older languages and can cause more than its fair share of confusion." OoC: I forgot: Does Animal Talk work with Metasimians? If it does, pretend I just used it to talk to Hoptet.
  19. "Not much weakness there. Unfortunately, though I am well aware of the threat Baba presents and strongly desire to both defeat her and rescue Bluto, I cannot commit to such a team in the near future. I am most likely going to be leaving on a quest with Master Holla and Master Hybros. I hope that when I return, Baba will not have caused any more Damage and that I will have the opportunity to go after her."
  20. If you see a post that you think is in the wrong thread, please use the Report button so a staff member can move it to the appropriate place as soon as possible. ...and as it turns out, you're both incorrect. Discussion of availability of sets - where you found them, how much you paid for them - belongs in Star Wars sets anyone?. (But remember when posting there that ranting about pricing has no place in any thread on EB.) I'll move a bunch of posts over there in a moment...
  21. "At least that is good news, that the Wolfgang leadership is crippled...though I'm not sure it will matter. What did you see of Baba's power? Do you think Heroica will be able to challenge her?"
  22. I'm debating whether or not to ask for "Docken hiding behind a table while Elgar eats a whole cow and Bacari swings from a chandelier"...
  23. "That is...both terrifying and disappointing - I have been well, fighting with Master Nihai in the Fields - I had hoped for better news. The Wolfgang have begun to influence even some of our fellow heroes, who want to join them and help them overthrow the six Houses. I had hoped that Foundation Day would - in a better way - be a day long remembered; that it would see the end of Steerpike, and would soon see the end of this rebellion."As I speak, I search the Hall for Thormanil or Cinna, but can see neither. "What does Baba plan to do now, do you know? She was already so powerful, but seemed content to stay in the Kalakita Bog. I take it she is still forcing Bluto to stay with her?"
  24. No, that's not my point; my point is that an artifact that grants an effect is more powerful than a weapon that grants the effect. Even if a Poisoning artifact doesn't make much of a difference, it's still more powerful than one weapon that's permanently poisoned.
  25. Yeah, an SP-piercing artifact works with all weapons, so you're free to switch them or sell them or pick up new ones depending on the circumstances. It's more powerful, just like the Quiver of Poisoning is more powerful than a permanently Poisoned weapon.
