  1. No, stats over roleplaying, stats over roleplaying!
  2. "I would not say that that is my exact definition of evil, but considering that the conversation I was having was concerned with the statistical helpfulness of Black Knights, I don't see a reason to continue the debate when, as you are correct in saying, we seem to be unable to convince the other of our definitions."My throat somewhat scratchy after the discussions with various heroes throughout the day, I sip a cup of tea. "How much experience have you had as a healer, Master Solanum? I have heard a rumor that the Great Guffington may require Heroica's assistance again, and I assume that Master Hybros and Master Holla will sign up for such a quest, but it is always a good idea to have a healer, especially a Druid."
  3. Interesting. So does everyone decide what they want to do, and are you just going to run actions in a battle in the order they're posted?
  4. If you could bribe the QMs into constantly dropping them for you, I would just do it with your current character. I cannot think of a character that would be more in-demand than a permanently Lucky Druid. (Ironically, the Druid with the perma-Lucky artifact isn't active. )
  5. "I suppose that natural law can be quite philosophical and is open to much interpretation, so I will not question your belief there. It's a fair point considering the apparent corruption which we have discussed's being present in the very powers of Eubric which create and enforce the laws of this city. In regards to Black Knights, I have no doubt that they do not believe that they are evil according to their values. But just because our values differ does not mean that I cannot believe them to be more evil or to at least stray closer to evil than other classes, just as you and what I assume to be Druidic values believe all killing to be evil while I believe that it isn't always. I've already stated why I believe that."OoC: Disclaimer: I don't really know that much about any formal legal definitions of killing and/or murder. "corruption which we have discussed's being present" - I can't decide if that's written the right way or not. It sounds fine when I say it in my head but it looks wrong when typed out.
  6. By the way, the conversation in the Hall has reminded me to ask: when the Cat Suit's description says "dodge", does it work like the Special Dodge, causing another hero to take the Damage instead, or does it just mean that the enemy's attack is ineffective?
  7. So, how powerful would it be if you got your hands on a bunch of those Hurricanes?
  8. "I didn't say that murder could be good. Murder is never lawful, that is what separates it from other killings. If the killing is justified, then it is not murder, although the qualities of what constitutes a reasonable justification are themselves subjective. "As for the intent of a Black Knight, as I said before, it is their choice which Advanced Class they wish to train for. They know before their training begins how each class will perform and respond in a battle. Hiding, Dodging, and Intimidating are all actions which are not shared by other Advanced Classes; if the Black Knights did not intend for them to be a possibility, then they would not have chosen the class in the first place."
  9. No, the conversation he was having was just about how Black Knights don't have as extraordinary skills or advantages as some of the other Advanced Classes, and they don't always do well in teams. Getting better stats and completing the goal of the quest are pretty much all Docken cares about, so if he actually did have to quest with a Black Knight, he would spend his time trying to figure out strategies to best use the Black Knight's abilities.
  10. "I suppose that the classification of such acts as either 'good' or the 'lesser of two evils' could be subjective, and I can understand your position considering your training as a Druid. However, it is my view that killing is not necessarily evil, and can be justified. "But Black Knights, they betray their fellow heroes' trust by Hiding or Dodging and allowing other heroes to take the blows for them, and where Diplomacy would suffice they instead resort to threatening and Intimidating in order to get their way. They don't just fight enemies that they would be justified in killing; they also willingly harm the party to save themselves, sacrificing their own Health only when it suits them, and they choose the Black Knight path knowing full well what they will do in a battle. I do not assume that the concept of a selfless Black Knight is impossible, but this is what their training* obviously teaches them." OoC: Post is purposely sort of vague to avoid crossing the line to the sort of serious topics that don't belong on EB, and to keep focused on the statistical consequences of the class, which is all that Docken cares about. Is that roleplaying? *By which I mean the rolls and abilities of a Black Knight. "Whether you intended it or not, Sir Alexander, that is an excellent example of killing justified in that it is the elimination of a threat which intended to murder citizens of Uland, a party's act of causing death that is not evil."
  11. "Actually, with a pair of Counterstrike Gloves, careful choice of weapon, and some good poison, you can play defense forever with quite a few enemies." "Defensive? I doubt that. The "dark side" is anger, fear, aggression... Not more powerful, but quicker, easier, more seductive."
  12. No, they go off on adventures with Mungo Baobab and Jann Tosh, and they help defeat Kybo Ren, and they fight Admiral Screed...Yes, I know that much of Droids is borderline canon if canon at all, and I'm sure that the Rebels team won't really pay much attention to any conflicts between the two series. But I'm still hopeful that the earlier series isn't completely overwritten; I guess I like it because it was one of the first Star Wars productions outside of the movies that I saw. This was expanded on a little in the Star Wars Radio Drama, and done pretty well. Hopefully this new series can build on that. Yes. We need to see that. I think the current canon storyline has What's-His-Name-Siri-Tachi's-Apprentice-Who-Left-The-Order keeping an eye on Leia after he survives Order 66. I don't really care for that series of books, so if Rebels overwrites that, I'll have no complaints.
  13. "I agree. Anyone who's trying to, as you say, fight evil with evil, is just as corrupt as the Houses and just as villainous as the Wolfgang." "To be fair, Black Knights don't exactly always play well in teams. Stunning themselves, hiding in the middle of a fight, letting another hero get struck by a Special meant for them..."
  14. Aw, now the chances of someone doing that have plummeted since you said that.
  15. "I apologize; I did not mean to insult your family. As for Holy enemies, I suppose that is an area in which Black Knights are powerful, and they do have the option of dealing extra Damage. In my experience, those enemies aren't very common, though."
  16. "I would expect as much from someone with the Shadeaux name. Assassins can be powerful, and in my opinion, much more useful than Black Knights. Black Knights aren't as good in teams and don't have as unique abilities as Assassins."
  17. Why? I already have a life as a hero and adventurer.
  18. Dark Times, OT-era series replaces The Clone Wars! Just as the team is starting to get good at making these series! Making use of Ralph McQuarrie's concept art! No amount of exclamation points or emoticons could describe how excited I am! ! Please don't ruin the Death Star novel. Also please don't bring back Ahsoka. Or Rex. Or Jar-Jar. Or... you get the point.
  19. It kind of reminds me of the effect in Bloodbrick II that made you say everything twice when you took a pill that made you say everything twice in Bloodbrick II is what it kind of reminds me of. I think it's still called a decimal mark or a decimal point, whether you use a period or a comma.
  20. I love the U'kin accent because it is hilarious and that is why I love it.
  21. Wasn't someone trying to sell it for a thousand dollars or something on eBay sometime last year? Either way, new Clones clones average over $10 each on BL, so I'd say you came out ahead based on the minifigs alone, and this is the first time I've ever seen one of those in that condition.
  22. Fair enough."Twenty-five thousand! Those guys must really be desperate." *Yes, I know the quote is "seventeen thousand". But that doesn't make sense. You could also go with "Look at the size of that thing!"
  23. "The reading's also off the charts...over twenty thousand."Tsk, tsk, you missed the opportunity to quote Star Wars instead of an Internet meme.
  24. That's why I let Sandy worry about the Fate of Eubric and focus on completing the quest's goals and getting paid.
  25. "Much like I suppose we all are, I'm merely waiting for another quest. I heard a rumor that Master Guffington may require Heroica's services again, so I am waiting to see if that develops into a quest that I can go on. I believe he is currently attending the Foundation Day event at Master Wigglepike's theater, though. A party left not too long ago to make sure nothing goes wrong there."
