I’m not a huge fan of The Phantom Menace, but the movie does have some distinctive locations that were introduced in it, among which is Naboo and it’s capital city. From the arches to the fountains to the textures to the large windows to the coloring to the vines to the tiles that cover every surface for walking on, KW Vauban has captured the look and feel of Naboo’s buildings perfectly in this diorama. The Flash Speeder looks great in dark green, and I love how smoothly all the angled portions are integrated into the buildings in the corner, especially around that tunnel/walkway under the bridge.

QMs already drop plenty of consumables. And how does it help balance the game if a player can create whatever consumable they want?

He does have the original Luke head, and Wren uses the original Leia head, so...But he doesn't look as much like Wren as the person in black behind him, with the black robes and long black hair...

[flickr Find] The Desktop Busts of Omar Ovalle
Brickdoctor replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think that one was just uploaded today. It wasn't there when I wrote the post yesterday, and the only comment was posted thirty-four minutes ago. (flickr says it was taken on May 14th, but that doesn't mean that that was the day it was uploaded.)- 8 replies

I’ve been making an effort to look at more of the different sites FOLs can post their MOCs on lately. And one that caught my eye on ReBrick was a medium-sized bust of Darth Maul with his probe droids. And I thought, “Wow, that’s really nice shaping.” So I clicked on the link back to the builder’s photostream and saw… 4-LOM! Bossk! Dengar! Zuckuss! IG-88! White Boba Fett! Some Clone Wars bounty hunters I don’t care about! ( ) All beautifully sculpted and detailed. Excellent work using a variety of shapes to sculpt instantly-recognizable characters at this scale. Look at the bandages on Dengar. Look at the expression of Bossk. But he’s also made two other characters in addition to the nine bounty hunters and the pilot Luke Skywalker at the beginning of this post, and one of those really caught my eye. The head, especially the mouth, on this Greedo: Incredible. The models are also on CUUSOO.

Sorry! I didn't know you'd joined Team Guts. (For more than this quest.)

Rancors eating Gungans! Ewoks kept in a zoo! You've done a great job of almost whimsically interpreting the concept of the ‘Star Wars Zoo’. Yes, there are canon zoos and other animal exhibits in the Star Wars EU, but the concept still seems to be one conceived in jest rather than something that has a connotation of seriously being something that fits into Star Wars, to me. This MOC seems to have the best of both worlds, including the jokes but doing so within a structure that looks very Star Wars-ish. And of course there’s the pure building skill in this build, too. The Rancor and Banthas are beautifully sculpted. The greebling is tastefully done. And the landscaping is perfectly integrated into the mechanical, used-universe constuction.

Rule clarification: In the event of an apocalypse, all hail King Guts! All surviving factions pay one billion Gold to support the keeping of the peace through the upgrading of Guts', Hybros', and Docken's equipment.

It's actually from Clones. If you look at the picture which has the different color clones from that movie, there's yellow for commanders, blue for lieutenants, red for captains, and green for sergeants. Army builders and customizers have been making their own versions of these for a long time, and now TLG has given us three of the four colors in this year's waves: the sergeant in 75000, the captain in 75021, and the commander in 75019. It's not really that important of a character, (only the yellow commander has a real role in the movie) but I think most people are upset more because TLG gave us three of the four officers after giving us nothing but white clones for the longest time, and now they're withholding the last rank as an exclusive.

Wow. 75025 was already excellent for a set, but when I look closer at this model, I can see all the subtle changes and how effectively you've blended all the plates and curved bricks to make this one so much better. The 3-tall bridge instead of 4-tall appears less squarish, the plates forming the hull angle slightly to meet the curved bricks instead of sitting flat and being stacked up, the ring of slopes around the docking rings are less abrupt, the larger engines appear less disproportionate, and the model has a fantastic interior.
