  1. (Chibi + LEGO = Chibo) At least according to Darth Ky, who has constructed three sets of impressively shaped and articulated figures: Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Yoda, Dooku, Ahsoka, and Ventress, and clones in red, blue, and orange. The chibi and sort of manga styles are combined with some incredible shaping. (Dooku’s hair does look a bit strange, but remember that that’s the same way his CW minifig has the hair done.) And every figure is fully articulated, too. All three models are also on CUUSOO. Blog Note: I hope you're all enjoying the finds. As a reminder, I only post the exceptional finds in this forum, so there're still some builds to be seen on the blog that aren't also posted here.
  2. No, I imagine that a lot of the OT fans (including myself) don't really care if we can get the minifig or not. But while I don't want the 'fig, I still want to see TLG release it a way that makes sense and seems fair.
  3. I did check those sites, and I checked ReBrick and Brickshelf as well, but I couldn't find it.By the way, I hope you're enjoying the finds. I've lately only posted the exceptional finds in this forum, so there's some other content on the blog still that isn't here in the forums.
  4. This question has been answered and the original poster has been active in the time since, I'll merge with General Questions where it belongs... (Originally it wasn't merged because the original poster doesn't have enough posts for me to send him a PM to let him know where the topic went.) ...done.
  5. OoC: I see what you're doing, trying to make me write a backstory for Docken. "Ah, yes, alchemical batteries, I believe that's the lightning-powered Ji Pei technology I was thinking of. Is the method efficient as far as cost compared to a magical, Ether-based solution? "I wonder what would happen if you sent the power of the battery through a thin piece of cotton thread or coiled parchment, but contained it inside a vessel that had no air in it, so as to prevent the thread from burning up even as it is heated until it glows... "As for my heritage, I do not believe it has any real effect on my mental faculties. It is merely a matter of careful study and memorization of all the things that all the other heroes discover or learn on their quests as well as the ones I go on, as recorded in Heroica's library."
  6. I wonder what the production numbers on this 'fig were... I did the trivia contest twice myself when they were giving them away to whoever, the years they gave away Chrome Vader and White Boba, which I think they each made thirty thousand of. (And the year before, when they did give away Chrome Threepios, but that year if you won you got a raffle ticket guaranteed to win a prize but not necessarily the one with Chrome Threepio in it; I drew the AT-AP.) The guy who does the questions actually is pretty knowledgeable. He does a good job of picking questions that kids get wrong. For example: Q: Who was Anakin's first clone commander? (All the kids scream "Captain Rex!" ) A: Alpha
  7. Skeleton Decoys only have 20 HP.
  8. Not appearing in my next quest, but when CMF Series 2 first came out, I bought six Spartans and only opened two. Since I wanted to have more Mopags in this next quest (and because I'd never sell the MISB Spartans anyways), I opened the other four, which meant I now had the pieces for: This is as many Skirmishers as I can build -- I now happen to have exactly six Lion torsos, exactly six large Lion shields, exactly six short swords, and exactly six dark pearl grey spears. I didn't realize until now how hard the dark pearl grey spears are to get compared to the brown ones. The dark pearl grey ones came out first, but ever since all the other sets have only included the brown ones. (Which I suppose are more realistic.*) These will definitely appear in a future quest, though. *The Lion pikemen who appeared in the last three quests are the traditional medieval grunts, so they have the spears with wooden shafts. I imagine the Lion Skirmishers as more of a Legionary/marine-type, all-purpose soldier which doesn't necessarily need to be supported by the typical medieval archers and cavalry. So the Skirmishers have the halberds with the metal (or at least metal-braced) shafts, and they also carry the short swords while the pikemen don't.
  9. Yes, the NR-999 Tank Droids were originally to appear in Clones, but they were taken out and brought back for Sith. You can see the concept art for it from that time in The Art of Attack of the Clones. That being said, the scene would've been during the massive ground battle on Geonosis, after Jango had died. So it still would have been a case of 'Sort of close' rather than a minifig really belonging with a vehicle in a set.
  10. Another fine MOC (And a great job on the photography, too.). I love the contrast you've done between the mostly smooth center platform, and the walls that curve up and around from below it that are covered in greebling. It helps the focal point of the MOC, the platform Vader’s on, to draw more attention while the greebled walls have so many shadows that they’re darker than the center, just like in the movie. And that contrast breaks up what would otherwise be a bunch of surfaces in one color blending together.
  11. Have you actually seen the sets at a TRU in the US? These sets are supposed to be an August release here, and in the past years that's meant TRU maybe had them at the end of July. They don't appear to be on TRU's website, either. Although on that note, their website does list the 30241 and 30240 polybags for sale at $5 each.
  12. Moving discussion of availability to "Star Wars Sets, Anyone?"...done.
  13. I fiddled with it a bit, as far as I can tell, no, you can't. The mobile version doesn't have any buttons to access the embedding code, and even though you can view the picture in all sizes, you're never able to get the URL of the picture itself.
  14. That's it? I'm disappointed.
  15. As an AFOL, I could not be more proud to have a soul made of LEGO.
  16. Does Docken have a soul?
  17. Ooh, that is very nice. By the way, if you read one of my other finds threads, I mentioned that I welcome any suggestions for other finds that should be blogged. Do you know if the builder has posted that on any other sites? (I can't find any.) I don't want to blog it just as a CUUSOO project, because we (the Rebel Bloggers as a team) should make a collective decision of which CUUSOO projects we want to support as actual sets. (And blogging it as a CUUSOO find could imply that we all think it would be a good set and think it has a chance of getting there, which I don't know at this point, as opposed to blogging an MOC and mentioning that it's on CUUSOO.)
  18. 1x2 tiles did come in chrome gold, in three 2003 sets. They haven't been officially released in chrome silver, but there are a few BL stores like Chrome Block City that do bricks in a variety of chrome colors, both official and unofficial, so the chrome silver 1x2 tile you saw was probably a custom.
