Technic General Discussion
legolijntje replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yep as Jim says. There is also a powerpoint on the LEGO site about illegal and legal connections. Although it's not all Technic related and a bit outdated, it's still a interesting read: http://cache.lego.com/downloads/brickfest2006/brickstress.ppt -
ASK HERE MOC-stuck? Ask for general building advice here!
legolijntje replied to mrklaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Could someone please help me? I'm building a Piaggio Ape in Model Team style (remote controlled). I've finished everything for many months now, except 1 thing.... the front wheel cover. Take a look at this picture, it's the black thing covering the front wheel. The cover attachment should be 2 upward studs. But I can modify if needed. My main problem is getting the shape right, while keeping it thin (cause the wheel is under it). Any ideas? -
I saw it a week or 2 ago. I wanted to build it, but I don't have EV3 (yet). So I decided to try to build it with NXT. When I was done building and modifying it to properly use the nxt, I had to modify the EV3 program. "Well", I thought "that shouldn't be a big problem. They say you can program NXt with ev3 pc software too. Just remove and edit all the blocks that aren't supported by nxt". When I was done, I wanted to upload it to my nxt....... .....there wasn't enought memory For some reason, the programs made in EV3 are waaaay bigger (well, relatively of course) than the NXT software programs. Now I'm stuck with a building that can't do anything Anyway, it's a nice moc nonetheless

To everyone (and Jurgen): I found an error in the .bsx file containing all the extra parts: the 60656 PF Extension Wire 20cm has the color "Black", which doesn't exist on Bricklink. It should be Dark Bluish Gray (DBG). Anyway, my 42009 will arrive tomorrow and I will first build the normal set. But after a few weeks of display, I will definitely make the full PF version. I can't wait!

Nice video! I still want to buy the crane, but it's an expensive year with the 41999, the new mindstorms and this crane. And on top of that I also want to buy an SSD...

Í just read about the 3d viewer on Brickset. Nice work! It looks very good, although (as also said in the Brickset comments), the viewer doesn't work with very big sets like the Taj Mahal: it crashes at the end of the loading screen (both Chrome and FF). I'm wondering; are you able to import LDraw files? If so, you know where to get your 3d sets EDIT: about the crash: the Taj Mahal suddenly worked after about 5 minutes loading... It worked in Chrome, but FF thinks the script has crashed so it will never finish in FF

Do you know about the advanced search? It's the little grey gear button next to the search bar. -
Changin parts list on Rebrickable
legolijntje replied to Lipko's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I don't know how to do that, since I haven't placed any MOCs or anything like that on Rebrickable. But you can ask Nathan aka technicmad, the author of the website, here on EuroBricks. His profile is here and the Rebrickable topic is here. -
LEGO Set Image Grabber by Meiko
legolijntje replied to Meiko's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Well, that's a nice little piece of software. Although it isn't something I need at the moment, I'll keep it for when I do need it -
1 tip: change the "LDD like rotation mode". In my experience it is way easier than the normal rotation mode in sr3d (especially if you're coming from LDD). If you start using SR3D, you change it to "LDD like rotation mode" in View>User Interface>Rotation mode.

Aren't you replying in the wrong topic? Because you're referring to my rebrickable recommendation in this topic. Pleas avoid any confusing things so watch where you post. I'll move your post for this time. [move done] -
What a suprise, I (tried) to make that too (for my nexus 4 ). The whole stand, motors, nxt and everything is working (kind of), but the nxt programming didn't worked very well. Now I installed some apps and some software on my pc and I'm now using it as a remote "security camera" or as remote controlled webcam in skype (it can be controlled on the pc and the camera can be controlled and seen on the pc)

I don't know exactly what's allowed and what not. In general things that involve hacking or modifying LDD are not allowed (at least not on EuroBricks). Using or modifying the lxf files is not a problem (as far as I know). However, Superkalle knows what and what's not allowed in a bit more detail, so it's better to wait for his reply. I also want to note that your point 7 already exists, it's a site called Rebrickable.com -
