She's gorgeous. Honestly, I love how simple yet elegant the stern is. The golden wings and sword are a wonderful touch. My one criticism is the ratlines, in that there are none. Have you considered adding droid arms to connect the rigging for ratlines? To me right now it just looks like long rope that require only arm muscles to climb. Either way, she's still a gorgeous ship.

Wonderful ship! She's beautiful. I love just how sleek and clean she is. Glad she is on the right side of BoBS.

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion

Welcome, Bodi! Can't wait to see the ship. -
Thank you! I'm trying to have a good story people can enjoy reading, because I'm having a lot of fun making it, and reading everyone else's.

"Such a good quartermaster. You were the best in the history of the crew," the long-dead captain told Emile. "We were your slaves, and you a cruel tyrant," Captain Emile Perreault spat back. "But you all voted me in, and you in turn was quartermaster. Ruthless." "Only to survive that hellhole of a ship." "Come now, those days weren't so bad. Remember the first ship we boarded after you were made quartermaster? Remember my test?" the captain snarled. "We hung the men from the topgallant? That was a fun sight." "You made me hang one of our own with them!" Emile yelled. "We lost enough good men in that fight and you made me place one of us up there with them!" "He was the worst one, you know that." The captain looked down at Emile's handiwork. "You didn't even protest, Emile. In fact there was a smile on your face as you did it. I remember it well. You're not so different, you and I. Men, lusting after glory. Ruthless. Violent. Cold." Emile stayed silent. There was no point in arguing with a specter of the past. He had been through this nightmare too many times to count. "You know we are the same. You'll fail everyone. Oleon, your crew. Even the one to your left. Go on. Take a look." Emile looked down to his left. His eyes went wide. This had never been before in the dreams. He tried to shout Elise's name, but his throat closed up. Emile woke with a fright, his clothes drenched in cold sweat. The nightmares had finally become worse. Overview

Thank you! Yeah, nature and all that are really tough for me, never seem to get them right. But that's what practice is for.

Emile received a letter to go sail from Eltina and meet along the coast. Anchoring The Athena, he set out with Gilbert, Henri, and Jean to meet the mysterious man. A man from Mardier. With a chest. "I can see why you wanted to meet outside of the town," Emile told the man as he approached. "Fancy piece of armor you have there, Master...?" "Ambassador is fine," the man replied. "And it helps prtoect me. Never know when you'll deal with a pirate." "I'll venture to guess 'Ambassador' is not your actual title." Emile Perreault adjusted the sword at his side. "Former pirate, mind you." "Is that not what you are doing for Oleon now? Just a different title?" he questioned through his accent. "You could say that. Open the chest." The Ambassador obliged. Emile peaked inside, scanning the contents. The captain continued, "All this for me and my crew? To do what I'm supposed to for my country?" "Think of it as a bonus, Captain Perreault." Emile looked back in the chest. With his foot, he closed the lid. "I don't like them the same as you. But being caught taking money from a foreign power? That's likely to bite me in the rear, Ambassador. I'll stick with my pay from Oleon and the hauls my men and I bring in." He took a step back. Then another. He motioned to his men to turn the rowboat around and return to the ship.

Thank you both! No, the papers Emile was reading weren't secretive.

Small Library of Eltina | small educational building -
Eltina's library had a fine selection for one of it's size, Emile Perreault found. After leaving Elise at their new house, the privateer made his way to the library. I was hungry for doubloons, the essential thing needed to grow his reputation as a captain of fine vessels and a powerhouse in trade. Luckily, Eltina had some texts on economics and businesses. These were all very different from maritime law and customs, something Emile had familiarity with. Economics, business, stocks, all of it made his head spin. He made a note to hire someone to look after his finances for him when he had enough time. Hoping some rum would clear his head and possibly give him an edge to learning, Emile went off to go find some. When he returned, the privateer found his neatly stacked texts were askew and on the ground. "Damn Corries," he muttered to no one in particular.

Thank you! I'm not that good, I've just been building with LDD since it came out originally.

I like the look of it! A fine addition to the growing settlement.

Emile's Small House | Small residence -
Emile Perreault told William to wait outside. The Corrie-turned-Oleonder agreed, putting on a mean mug to discourage anyone from disturbing his captain. "It doesn't even have a table," Elise protested. "The bed looks big enough for one." "Elise, it's only temporary, you know that," Emile returned. "Before you know it, we'll have the large house I promised you we'll get. You need to trust me." Elise pursed her lips. "Where are you to sleep?" This was going to be the hard part, Emile knew. "I'm not going to be here oft-" "Emile..." "I know, I know." Emile took a breath before continuing. "Being a privateer is the best way for me to make money right now. And I can't take you on The Athena. It's too dangerous right now. Once I get a bigger, stronger vessel you can come along. But not before. On the brightside, you have a better oven than back home. You'll always stay warm in a house as small as this. It's temporary. I promise." After a moment, Elise nodded in acceptance.

No worries, we're all busy. Thanks! -
Will I pop up on the next summary since I recently joined, even though I started late February?
-
Well that looks like a painful way to go. Aside from the blood about to seep onto that floor, I love just how clean it looks. Nice work!

Thank you! The cannons were difficult because LDD decided to be finicky with the placement of them. I'll certainly check into the databases as I like to make them historically accurate, as difficult as that can be. Thank you, onwards and upwards!

Statue of Zeus | small Arts and Culture | License active (or at least was just submitted) -
In the Settlement of Astrapi, a new statue has been erected for those too busy to get to the Temple of Zeus that day. If passing this statue, the faithful can pray or stop to have a chat. If it's a lovely day, why not? Some old peddlers even may stop by telling you a secret, if you the coin of course. They say that Zeus faces the direction of the secret relic, but nobody has been able to locate it, at this point at least. Those peddlers seem strangly like Eslandolers...

I will certainly take that tip to heart! Thank you. And thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Now, is there anything needed anywhere? I'm still slightly confused on freebuilds and licensing. I know I can't license another ship yet, but what next? -
Thank you, you sea rat!

Wow, she is a beauty! I love your sails. How did you make them? That is a wonderful addition to the Oleon navy.
