Da, I am here, Yakovlev Ivankov. Let us hurry this up. I have appointment at banya soon. -
What class would you say is the hardest then?
-
"I've got the beasts, then," Kiray calls out. She attacks Barghest 1 from the front with her katana. Battler order Miderun Kiray Germ Na'im
-
"Let's go the pumpkin patch, same challenge," Kiray confirms. How bad could some pumpkins be, she reasons.

I agree. Can you imagine if Sandy tossed Ellaria out the door right away or Guts or any of the other characters we've grown to love over these past five (five?) years? The game would be radically different and I think it would suffer. Sometimes toughing it out will fix the problems. And it's a roleplaying game. There's (nearly) always ways to fix somethings you messed up on.

Quest #146 First, I want to say thanks again to the questees and Sandy for letting me go back to Tridentia and have the penultimate quest in the arc I've been working on. Another thanks to CJP for taking the pictures for me (although my photoshop abilities are still lackluster, but eh, good enough for right now); they're certainly the best ones I've had on my quests so far. If there was any of the Tridentia quests that the players are really important, it's this one. This quest had the most player agency I've given and you guys really shaped what is going to happen in the final Tridentia quest. I want to start with the bad first. Pacing; I felt like I was a little slow this quest in responding and just how long the quest took. That maybe why the quest seemed to have ended abruptly. Yes and no. I was seeing lack of comments (Scuba, and where in the world has TCM gone?) and I guess general fatigue. I was feeling it, too, but I think ending the quest and letting the final bit be much more optional was the right choice. As for battles, I'm not sure how I feel about most of the battles, so I'll put this tentatively in the bad category. The final battle was loads of fun to plan and organize, but I could have explained everything better, and I should have made either more ballistae and/or lowered both ships' health to make the battle more intense. The sidequest felt a little tacked on (something I've always had a problem with), but it mainly served as a way to get you to understand the town more and interact with the NPCs more than just "train them and fight with them". For the good: I'm really glad I got to expand the cast of Tridentians more. A good 75% of them will reappear in the final quest, so I hope they're fun to interact with. Depending on the feedback, I'll adjust who exactly will be in it, where, etc. I like how I've been able to grow Luke and give him more of a family, be it with William and Lacy or with past Heroes who have come to the island. The final battle, as I said was loads of fun to plan and organize. Although after it ended I realized just how much loot I was giving away. I wanted to give a seperate section for player agency/improv I had to do. Originally, the party wasn't supposed to split, but Calamity went off and did it and I'm glad she did. I actually didn't expect that to happen so I adjusted for her miniquest as best I could and made up a few ways to give her something to do without the others that they couldn't see, and that would affect the outcome of the quest. You guys have no idea how much you've influenced the final quest, which I'll reveal when that quest is over in the future. Also the jokes. I really enjoyed making my atrocious jokes with you guys on this quest, be it with the horses, etc. Heroes Annie- I always liked QMing for Annie. It's great to see how she's grown over the past quests and how much she remembers about Tridentia and other characters. Mystic Knight is a strong class for her and I'm excited to see where you take her. This is my personal opinion, but I'd love to see her take on Battle Mage, especially as she grows in confidence. Warlen- Warlen is a unique case. Warlen (and Quarion) were on my second quest as Kiray and Warlen participated on the second Tridentia quest, so I've been on both sides with him. I'll admit, I didn't like Warlen in the beginning but he has grown on me. I think you did a fine job of leading the party this quest (although you went missing in the middle of the final battle so ). Aside from that, I hope to see you and Warlen more. Avalanche- Avalanche is a cool character. I like the fact he's a yeti, and he's a raider which just seems like an awesome class. You were great to QM; you always posted and did so in a timely manner for the most part. Avalanche seems like an intelligent character and I like him. Keep taking him where you're taking him, is my suggestion. Calamity- I'm so-so on Calamity still. The questee in me likes Calamity because she's Wolfgang so I hope in a quest she and Kiray get along well. As for QMing, there are some suggestions I have like using/posting her a bit more. I do really like how you seemed to take Luke under her wing and give a different mentor role than he's had with Vindsval, and I'm excited for how that will play out. As I said above, this party had the most player agency and I gave you the most, especially with Luke. Comments and criticism is more than welcome, be it from questees or spectators.

Heroica RPG - Quest #146: Red is the Bloodiest Color
KotZ replied to KotZ's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I agree, Avalanche." He motions to Traci, Jackson and Captain Grayson. "Go put him in a cell until we can get him a trial." After the four of them walk off, William turns back to the Heroes. "We'll give him a fair trial, no worries. If he's smart, he'll give up some information. At worst he'll be executed, and I'm sure many of the villagers would like that. If he's lucky, he'll be exiled. There's a lot to prepare for on our end now." "What are we to do now?" "Go help Rex and Captain Slate. Let me finish up with the Heroes." Luke bows and heads off with Rex to the docks. "Thank you, Heroes." The mayor pulls out a coin purse of 600 gold and gives it to the party. "Your reward. Slate can take you back to Eubric when you all are ready." THE QUEST IS SUCCESSFUL! QM Note: You're welcome to stay around in town and talk to any of the NPCs you've met during the quest or head back to the hall. I'll post final stats once the reward of 600 gold is divided. Thanks for playing! I'll post my thoughts soon. -
Jebediahs, that was the trippiest change I think we've had.

Heroica RPG - Quest #146: Red is the Bloodiest Color
KotZ replied to KotZ's topic in The Heroica Archive
"That's a big foot." "Don't quit your day job, Rex." "We've got enough rope." He turns to his crewmembers and shouts out commands. The ships get underway and head back to port. Once there, all of the Heroes, Tridentian soldiers and their captive return to the town square. Before going, Traci brings some rope to tie Luthan's hands. "You've got nothing to worry about. I'd be a simpleton to try to escape now." Back in the town square... "So," the mayor begins, "this is who has been harrassing us." "As instructed by the Den clan." The mayor curses under his breath. "What would they want from us." The beaten raider only shrugs. "I'm not one for talking, so let's get to this. What will happen to me now?" -
I would assume so. Unless it only affects staves/wands/etc.

The Drop was a pretty good film. Weird to think Gandolfini is no longer with us.

[MOC] USS Poseidon - Minifig Scale First Rate Ship of the Line
KotZ replied to shiplover's topic in Pirate MOCs
What a gorgeous ship! The rigging is coming along nicely. This thing is a monster. -
I didn't secure the parts of a modular castle I made a few years ago and when I tried moving it, the top towers fell. Luckily I was able to rebuild.
-
Wow, I can't believe this is the first time I've seen this. I would love to see it in real life and study everything. Lots of recognizable scenes from the PT. I love it.
-
1. Many times on EB. 2. Yup. I'm working part-time right now so I'll have access. 3. Ivankov, пожалуйста
-
Love the concept; I hope to see more people using similar ideas.
-
Great work! Would love to see more similar models.
-
I'm surprised we haven't had a reference to that before, unless I missed it.

Which lego hair piece best matches your real hair?
KotZ replied to Bingo Little's topic in Community
I used to have anywhere from the Harry Potter hair to the Frodo hair for a long time. Now, It's closer to these: Although when it's cut it's a shorter version of Agent Dash's hair from Alpha Team.
