Nocturnus Tribes - A Murder of Black Crows
Rolli replied to Hammerstein NWC's topic in Guilds of Historica
This idea of combining the falcon torsos with something evil is stunning. Your execution is even better. I LOVE the minimalistic presentation and as already mentioned, the snot work on your structure is stunning. My favorite fig must be the Master of Crows but the usage of Two Face's face is also very nice. Hope to see more of you in Historica in the future!- 19 replies

Nice idea, why not? Was actually thinking about this already. At least we can snore in the same language Don't think that my mom is going to mind but I will call her tonight anyway. Who knows, maybe she prefers not to stay with her son but with the ladies -

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

ZC, you might have got that wrong. Nobody said you're hurting Historica. You're totally right that Nocturnus needs members and by all means, if I had the time and wasn't abroad for college I would have considered doing the move to the east. Theres so much potential and that makes it interesting and kind of intimidating on the same time. But considering how much time for building I have at my hands its just not wise to change the guild as there is no time to develop a style or anything else.. Looking forward how you are going to manage to break away from your Avalonian style to a darker one that suits the muddy east with all the daffodils -

Yeah, same here. But it shows his dedication in a way. He just wants someone tending his daffodils with him Totally understandable, right? -
Eurobricks Event 2014 - Sign-up Topic

How did I miss this topic? Seriously? I'm in, +1. My mother asked if she would be able to join. Apparently she doesn't trust my driving skills or something I could also be responsible for one of the chalets, if needed. -

Not your fault. I'd love to but with the little time I have on my hands I'm just not able to support Nocty in the way I would like to. Also, I don't have the right bricks. Sad, but true. -

Sir Moriartus, reporting for duty and reclaiming the mighty Isle of Moria. And I'm still the guy in the center. I'm leaving for college tomorrow so I won't be active much but I have one or two things in the making ;) -

I have two to three things in the works, depending on how much time I have until I leave for studying but also how satisfied I am with it. One fairly large building that could totally fit for Albion, a farm scene and another surprise. -

Thanks, Z. Its about time someone said that. Shouldn't have been you but that doesn't matter now, does it? You did a hell of a job. Lets just hope that the majority understands sarcasm... (and maybe now my problem with CBB is understandable) -

Guys, its pretty clear: Antyria still belongs to Avalonia so just leave little Beerbeard in his pity district. Lets errect a wall around it so he has his own realm that we Avalonians just call 'The Kindergarten that is Antyria'. I don't mind at all, not hearing from our drunk beard seems like a perfect recovery after all his insanity, no? -
That is indeed a nice build and your best yet. Love the whole tower design, my favorite bit is the dome on the top! As said before, the barrels are a nice touch. Only bit that appears to be too simple compared to the rest of the build is the bridge. Looks a tiny bit out of place. And regarding the cheese slopes: Guess what we had in German pab walls maybe a month ago?

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Rolli replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Sounds very well thought out ZC! It's a shame that I won't be able to take part - it sounds like so much fun! I will stay in Avalonia for now. Old character. So much more to be told. If there is anything I can do to participate without building or having bricks at hand, I'm happy to jump in. Not counting flying home for a lug exhibition I won't see my bricks until Christmas from September on. Was thinking the same as I'm staying in Avalonia for now but was thinking about venturing to Nocturnus after a while.. like halfway through Chapter II as I will be back then. -
Damn! You noticed my bad attempt to manipulate clicks No, I just copied my old formatting from my embassy posting and forgot about replacing the links.

I have Legoland Germany nearby. They have a large pab that is charged by weight. And luckily they have these tiles. Almost emptied the box this morning ;)

Rebuilding Moria is a huge task. There are many buildings, statues and other little things that need treatment but the thing we had to start with was the statue of the Master of Cheese. People always argue that it looks similar to me which is no coincidence as it merely depicts one of my ancestors. And the beard lies in the family. It took us a while but as the Hand only demolished the statue but left the parts behind it wasn't too hard. With the help of the dwarven artisan guild we were able to restore it to its former glory. Now it can protect the city once again! Oh, whats the story behind it, you ask? Once upon a time the first of house Moriartus came to the place where Moria lies now. There was nothing except a marble cheese slope with a sword in it. It was sitting there for ages and nobody managed to remove the sword so far. Moriartus kneeled, closed his eyes and tried to pull the sword. Somehow it moved and he was able to pull it out - marking the beginning of the cheese slope era and founding the mighty city of Moria. Now I have to lay my feather aside - there is more rebuilding to do than just this statue. Sir Moriartus Yeah, of course, I had to pull this one, it was too good not to pass the opportunity to carve my nickname into stone It will be part of my small Moria layout of 3x3 48x48 baseplates and be used as the market place. I will post the other parts during the next weeks. Some pictures showing more details: 1. Sir Moriartus overseeing the dwarven workers. 2. Repairments are getting done. 3. Sir Moriartus and a familiar head in the background. 4. The statue is posed: Kneeling before the cheese slope. 5. And the complete statue with the head: 6. A different angle: Far from perfect, I know. The posing was important to me as well as the head. And I don't want to know how many times I managed to crash the whole statue. (As a matter of fact: My mum killed the whole dio just seconds ago ) The floor is just partly finished as it will connect to the other baseplates and there will be houses and market stands on it. As I already had to buy 10K of 1x1 round tiles in lbg this morning I passed on putting all the other bits on the plates.. I hope you like it. Comments and critique appreciated, as always!

Sorry to sound harsh but I'd like sharp and unblurry pictures first. Also the fountain looks pretty much like the one from the PotC-set. Why don't you change it a bit? The terrain could use more detail imo. I like what you did with the small fountain / pond on the right though!

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Rolli replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome! Please send regards to all the girls you're chasing! Haha! I actually like that thought - there are too many mighty men behaving like kids in our guild these days! Sir Moriartus will support only someone that is mature enough to rule this guild. And right now these seem to be pretty rare. As I have more important things to do than watching this charade I'm off to rebuilding Moria. I have a 18-day-deadline to make. -
Hahaha! Lovely! And by the way: Started with my MAC-moc today so you can count on a cheese-slope-heavy entry from me!

Not even a tiny bit? But... Capturing someone and torturing him does still count? You may try. But you will fail ultimately. First you would have to find me. (But seriously: This whole Assassins stuff would be a nice fit for a little free build story shared by multiple builders like Kaliphin did, no?) -

Assassinating the assassin sounds like a little tongue twister but a funny little twist indeed. And apart from that: Is there only one assassin guild?
