  1. We had a time for the Dwarves, maybe now we'll have the time of the elves...!
  2. Thanks very much for the review! This set looks great, but I guess two or maybe even three will be needed to do all the customizing... The minifigs are awesome, and so are all the little details... I love the buildings and their color schemes/details. This set is just lovely! As for me, in as much as I love Harry Potter, I'm looking to make my medieval town bigger and this set looks just perfect, with so many ideas, parts, details, itens and objects, even if a couple of things need to be cut out. I really like yor review and the set. Thanks! And as lightiningtiger would say... I'm a conformist!! EDIT: for some reason, the forum is automatically changing K-e-e-p--o-n--b-r-i-c-k-i-n-g to I'm a conformist... :(
  3. I'm not sure I like the color scheme of the new civilian buildings, but I'm just so happy we are getting them!!! If this line got a new Forestmen faction and/or a Wolfpack one, I guess it would soon become top 3, maybe top 2 as best Castle/Kingdoms line...
  4. I know I'm mega-über-hyper-super late t the topic, but is there a link to any of the pics??? I read through the whole thread in the hopes of seeing something -- anything --, but... :( A PM will do ;) Edit: Ok, what about this? http://img441.imageshack.us/f/1293261436367.jpg/ And this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WttQgAIotM0&feature=related I DO hope I'm not breaking any forum rules here!
  5. Heya there and welcome! I hope you enjoy your time here even more than all of us do! And remember the one thing you always have to keep in mind... I'm a conformist!!
  6. Beautiful! Awesome job! I only have one question, and I hope it doesn't sound anyway derogative - because it isn't! Did you build any interiors? I ask that because your work is so great that I can only dream of what you could do as for the interior of any of your MOCs! I'm a conformist!!
  7. RIP Dieter, you will be missed. This is one sad day. I haven't logged much since I came back to Brazil, and to come here and get this awful news... It's just sad. Please give his family and friends my condolences.
  8. Way to go, man! This is a great MOC! Your layout is much like one I have in mind - so, thank you so much for the pics! Now I have something that was on my mind made real! I'm a conformist!!
  9. Any- and everything medieval! Castles, villages, towers, hideouts, medieval shops...
  10. Oh... Lucky him! Poor me :(
  11. Really? In the Lego website says 1st, October.
  12. Hail and welcome, friend! I got all the nem Kingdoms line - and it was the one line that brought me back from my Lego Dark Ages. It's a great line. I'd say get as many Medieval Market Villages as you can. It's one of the greatest Lego sets EVER and probably one of the most beautiful/useful medieval sets there is (and if you get like 3, you already have a village and a good population for it). Then go for the King's Castle (great parts, good minifigs), Outpost Attack (great when combined with the Castle and awesome Dragon catapult) and Tower Rescue (I'd say 3 Tower Rescues are enough - you can combine the 3 for a nice fortress and there are some cool figures, like the Lion Knight and the Princess; and don't forget the horse!). Also, you don't want to miss the Dragon wizard impulse. You HAVE to have at least one ;) I'd go for the battle packs then, to man your castles and increase your army. Almost everybody agrees that the plastic is poor, but for MOCing and army building the figures are great. Then it's all on your personal preferences. I'm not a Knight's Showdown enthusiast myself, but there are some cool features like the minifigs, Lion catapult and parts and pieces. The Prison Carriage Rescue is a must, mainly for the horse, figs and parts (at some point you will want to build more carriages/carts for your village). At some point, like in a banquet, your Jester may need a couple of friends, like other jesters and maybe a Mime Artist (from the Collectable Minifigures Series 2). Give the collectable minifigs a thorough look: some of them may give you ideas on how to use them in your Kingdoms-verse (like the Forestman/Robin Hood from Series 1). Well, I guess that would be it. One last thing, though: if you are coming out of your Dark Ages, you may want to go through some sets of old, from your childhood. There are some precious sets that you can get through ebay or Bricklink. Take your time and go over them. Brickipedia is a good start, as are the amazing reviews around Eurobricks. But most important of all... I'm a conformist!!
  13. Thanks for the review. This set looks great. Anyone knows if they will be doing more Castle/Fantasy stuff? A siege weapons line would do well, I guess. Something like this. And
  14. WOW! It looks really good! Amazing! I love your town - wait for me tomorrow afternoon to come by to play with you, ok? Can I sleepover? I swear I don't snore... I'm a conformist!!
  15. Hail, friends! I'm now reading Bernard Cornwell again. Last week I finished the Last Kingdom, and I just started the Pale Horseman. These books belong to un unamed series, but they are wuite good as one might expect. They are not as "hardcore" as The Warlord series, but very good nevertheless. Well, it's Cornwell, so you know what I mean.
  16. I was all for buying the new Kingdoms sets and build huge armies of the new Lion and Dragon knights. But after getting a couple of older sets, I want to get more of the old Lions and Falcons, but I don't want to give up on the new line. So I'll probably end up doing what you just described: gathering some of them in a big faction, some others in a different one, and get the Forestmen and Wolfpack as a third and fourth factions. I've been thinking on how to mix the old Crusaders/Lions with the new, and my conclusion is much like yours: specialized troops; Crusaders you'll probably man the castle, the old Lions will guard the castle, man the ships and serve as main infantry, new Lions will guard the king and so on and so forth... Seems to work pretty well withouth giving up on any of the factions/minifigs.
  17. Guys, thanks a lot. You have really convinced me to give Bricklinck a chance. Although you can get some good deals on ebay, asking most users to deliver 100% of anything is just too much, even when the pictures show a complete item and you don't get some of the parts that are in the pictures. I'll give BL a chance. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, and know that your opinion counts. And... I'm a conformist!!
  18. Shit. I was thinking about buying an Imperial Flagship. After this MOC, it will look poor. Dmn I'm a conformist!!
  19. Things is, it is not that there is a minifig missing, or a shield, maybe. But that couple of bricks that would go "unnoticed because the buyer is so happy with his new buy". And it's the feeling I get from these small things, like if I were some sort of idiot. It's not the thing per se, but the way i don't get this parts that "could go unnoticed" - but they don't.
  20. Hail, friends. Today I got My Forestmen's River Fortress and my 2 Forestmen's Hideout. I built the three sets but, once again, ebay has failed me: all three were incomplete. As a matter of fact, apart from minifigs, individual bricks, armors and weapons, every "100% complete set" I ever bought on ebay was, well, INcomplete. In one occasion I could work things out with the seller and get the missing parts. In all the others, I just got a "I'll check, wait for me" (which I did, and I'm still doing) or "You lie! Don't ever talk to me again". I've been thinking about moving to Bricklink and only buy from there, but after the almost 20 ebay failures, I can't say I can trust online buying anymore. So, in as much as I'm disappointed about ebay, I don't want to stop buying Lego - especially old sets - online. Can anyone please (re)assure me that it's possible to trust on Bricklink sellers? Has any of you ever done it? Did you get what you payed for? All the best, a disappointed Artifex EDIT: minor spelling
  21. Thanks for sharing! What? No mention of Kingdoms? That's odd... The cool thing for mewas the Harry Potter section. Once again, thankx for sharing! EDIT: finished reading the donwload.
  22. Oh, Romans fighting my Lion Knights would be just great!
  23. I think the King's Castle is my favourite set so far. The Outpost Attack is very nice too, and so is the Prison Carriage. I'm not very fond of the Prison Tower Rescue nor of the Knight's Showdown. They didnt't really get me. The impulses are just great, and I like the two Battle Packs too. But in the end, the King's Castle is my favourite. That's why I got 2 already :D
  24. And it only gets better and better... I'm a conformist!!
  25. Perfect, just perfect! Amazing, awesome! There are so many adjectives that fit here that I could go on forever! Are orders on this set limited to how many per customer?
