Looking good mate, looking really good! Love the dragon (sea dragon?) skeleton, and the new buildings are excellent in character. -

Na'khra Uzk Bridge Details & pics in this topic Next project: some labyrinth additions. Soon, I hope. Kelra is lookin' good! -
Na'khra Uzk Bridge Situated on the edge of the swamp partly on a small rock formation, the Na'khra Uzk Bridge fortified watchtower was originally built as a means to cross from the end of a common path through the Rakath mountain range over the extremely unstable bog edge to a slightly more solid swamp "island". The swampland is very difficult to navigate, but the bridge marks the starting point for a known path. Built by orcs, it is (naturally) under-engineered and therefore crumbling from beneath due to the unstable ground on the swamp side. Deep-driven piles on either end (added later) keep it from completely sinking into the bog. Some time later, a fortified tower was added (not by orcs thankfully ) as a means to watch out for threats of war, natural disaster & food chain phenomena. Here be dragons, you know. Built by more capable heads & hands it is on the western solid-rock side of the bridge, and in an excellent state of repair in comparison to the original part of the structure. Currently under the charge of one of Arcanis I's officers Caza-Ul-Baqr, the crew on board are primarily wildmen from the region. The location is not a pleasant one, as the bog truly stinks, as does the air from the mountain under which it lies. The sky is more often than not darkened, but the temperature warm depending on the nearby volcanic activity. Under the bridge a thin strip of deep still putrid water is visible marking the edge of the bog, under which lies many bones & stones that have fallen/been cast into it. Something lives down there, according to the wildmen. The dark blue of the water is due to the high concentration of cobalt. It would otherwise be puke brown... Ladder up to the bridge from the swamp side - you can see quite plainly that the wildmen DO NOT wipe their feet after walking in the mud. Caza-Ul-Baqr has her own room for studying "the arts" as it were, and of course administrative business. As a visitor on official business, Cal-Un-Owen gets first crack at the dinner table. And it isn't half-bad, really, considering this is really only a remote watchtower. There is only one "bed" which is available according to the roster. Everyone else sleeps on the floor. The wildmen keep watch to the south and west for many kilometres (or whatever physical distance is measured in there) through a powerful telescope mounted on the 5th level. Under the tower set into the rock is a small dungeon. I wouldn't say prison cell, as it's more of a permanent lockup + torture. Or should I say "torch ya"... -------------------------- I know that a white paper background helps the Lego to show up better in the photos, but it also ruins the vibe of the setting and there's no way I'm cutting out the background on so many pics for a digital one! This is the 3rd version of the bridge, previous incarnations and full size pics of these ones are visible here (until I upload another 200 photos... unless I start paying of course.) Thanks for your comments...

MOC: Zigar-an-Gifuzi (Kaliphlin Watchtower)
Artanis I replied to NiceMarmot's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hahaha! Great concept, and the whole thing looks good. Bananas?! Awesome! I like it. I notice that on one side the blue bricks near the top are a different colour. I would suggest that you either make them all the same blue, or mix up the other sides too. Whether you go with a consistent pattern, or just at random. -
Hahaha it had to be done, didn't it...

Yeeeahhh I knew you would be working on something huge! How large would you imagine the entire labyrinth border to be (thickness, not length)? 3 or 4 times this? (Bigger ?) Awesome, and truly ominous scene. Those Avalonians with their heavy-metal cavalry are wasting their time, they'll never get through this.

The giant sleeps. At least you've been busy building, you're contributing well. I have done a bit more work on my bridge+tower, still a bit more detail to go, mostly up in the fort area. No lava as I don't have the parts for it, I scraped the barrel to put in a small stream. I will try to get some photos tonight - and finish it by the end of the week. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

Poor Obi Wan, he and Grievous are due for some coolness from the writers. In addition to that, Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker was never blonde either. Ever. More like dark tan. -

It seems that your quarry consists of Fuchal stone -
Indeed! Looks awesome, who wants trebuchets or ballistae or even flame throwers when you can shoot lava... But does it need to be based in the volcanic region to work? Or can you carry the ammunition around with you

But what I'd like to know is how the heck R2-D2 got up there, why no one tried to stop him from ejecting Luke's lightsabres, and where he disappeared to after that. And where was Ahsoka's little yellow one? More importantly, WHY MUST OBI WAN GET SNOTTED SO MUCH LATELY?!? Booooooo! -

The old fig has blue clothing with a black cape & hood, the new one has black clothing with blue (short) cape and hood - as it should. The belt does stand out though. I actualy prefer the clone wars faces, so I am glad to replace the old Barriss with this new improved version. Naboo appears to have both hemispheres identical... -
Phew! Was getting worried!

Well I don't know if you'd say that the undead "live" -

I might say the bandages protect the sensitive skin from the harsh elements! -
It's Obi Wan holding it - the angle might make it look otherwise. Congratulations on 100 SW funnies Oky, I had no idea there'd been so many. Echoing the Darth Maul being the highlight of this one.

Some quick snaps of version 2 swamp-meets-mountains WIP fortified bridge + add-on watchtower: I still really suck at taking photos but the model building is improving slowly. Most of the bridge is unchanged, the tower has been fully overhauled. Other angles and previous version here. I think I might try to add water under the bridge to indicate a reason for one... also much more detail inside the castle walled area around the back & a few other places is required. I might be able to come up with something, Your Slitheriness. -
Nice and clean. It's a good guardhouse/outpost. Only problem with the small size is (as you say) that it's not so great for a watchtower purpose, unless it's built on an already advantageous natural position like a small hill overlooking a valley... which I am perfectly willing to imagine. Looks great. (Get a sand green flag!) I need to get myself more of that greenery.

Non-licensed themes use the yellow colour to represent skin to make it race neutral*. Licensed themes have the skin colour of whoever the character is. *although there really is only 1 race: the human race.

I think I saw some cobwebs in this thread... haha

The rocks and the water really look excellent, and you've contained plenty here on a functional basis. I wouldn't mind a transfer to this watchtower, but I imagine the wind would get pretty intense at times.
-
Nice scene, it's a great build but I wouldn't want to be defending it against an army without a certain bunny at hand. If just to scout for enemy activity, it's a nice hidden base. Interesting how you've combined the black and grey for the rocks - looks good, but I wonder how that works? It's a good outcrop in any case. Yes, strawberry is the best - and even better with milo in it too. PS I still call it Quik...

I received a couple of emails informing me that the correct parts are on their way, I will have to wait and see what arrives. I bought another of the same set last night from a different retailer and (because when it comes to Lego I have no patience) I just had to open the box to see what gold was in this one. Normal. Shiny bar + 1, 2, 5 & 10 shiny coins. Curious.

I mightn't look SWsy or Christmassy to you, but down south Christmas has a completely different landscape! Here we have the young fella building a sandcastle on a nice quiet little beach on a hot summer's day - naturally he has his favoured present with him in his bag: his Emperor Palpatine figurine that he got from Santa that morning.

Impressive beast of a machine! The spiders are pretty cool. DOES IT FIRE?!? (The all important question!) And of course the big guns will win it... Grond got them into Minas Tirith, didn't he?
