Nice job! Great use of the telephone piece

If Obi-Wan had no feelings or whatever for the droids, why would he say it like "R4, scramble code 5 to Coruscant c/o the old folks' home" in EpII? I think this suggests at least some level of an understanding relationship - not the sort you would have with your toaster. (Unless it was a pet toaster)

No But thankyou!

Arcanis I of the Nocturnus guild is sending Kargzaskzin to participate in the event. He has no fear of coming unstuck as he has already mastered the art of self-regeneration from death. He will be using his magic staff and crossbow. Don't look into his eyes.

Lucky it was Peter Jackson and not George Lucas, he would've made Tom Bombadil the main source of slapstick comedy. "Meesa Tom Bombad! Meesa muoy muoy crazy!"

From what I have gathered, I believe that a goblin is an orc, but an orc is not necessarily a goblin. Just like a laptop is a computer but a computer is not necessarily a laptop. You can call something a computer or laptop if it is both. You wouldn't call a desktop computer a laptop. As far as The Hobbit is concerned, I think all orcs in that story were the goblin type, hence the sense of interchangeability there. Computer and laptop are not interchangeable terms... and you never read of anything from Mordor or Isengard being referred to as a goblin - it is always orc (or uruk - same word, different language), so I think that suggests possibility of non-interchangeability between the terms orc & goblin. We know that TLG has identified the term "Uruk Hai", (but not "Olog-Hai" - aka cave troll) so it's possible that they will OR won't identify "Goblin". The standard/generic orcs will be just "Orc", it remains to be seen whether the goblin type from Moria will be referred to simply as orc or not. But I don't really care that much either way. I don't mind a lot of the changes in the movies, but what does bother me is the way it seems like the whole thing took no more than a week. Oh, the beacons sequence doesn't do much for me.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Artanis I replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Not bad episode. I wonder if we'll get an Obi Fett minifig, haha. -
I saw this last week and I really like it but forgot to post. The sand green plates look great for swampland! I would definitely use those, if I had any. I could order some I suppose.

and great use of the capes too!

I think you're right. I think the Legolas minifig face doesn't look much like Legolas to me. Orlando Bloom has much rounder features & soft face in those movies. The cheek lines make him look more like Arnold Schwarzenegger. (It doesn't really bother me that much though.)
-
I know how you feel! Interesting question, the biggest difference between Legolas & Haldir's face is their nose - and minifigs don't have those!

Fixed that for you. This is an adult site, behaving like a teenager (or younger) is not a great idea. If you don't like something, mocking it is not acceptable. If you wish to make light-hearted witty comments, please choose your words carefully and make use of the plentiful emoticons - this is the Internet where it is more difficult to tell whether someone is serious or sarcastic etc than face to face. Don't be disrespectful to the Brick, or Tolkien's work or you will gain disrespect. (I'm not saying you have to be a fanboy or completely serious, just mature and sensible.) Anyway, take it easy, enjoy Lego and don't get uptight about sets not suiting your wants - after all, Lego is made for kids.

and glittery skin... yes I did see it with my ex. I was like "cool, a vampire movie!" No. Checking it out soonish. Yeah, having seen Underworld already I realised it had a lot of similarities to the Blade world. The secret communities of vampires that were pretty much in control of the world etc. Pretty common thing these days. As much as I dislike Gary Oldman when he isn't on Batman, at least he wasn't one of thousands of young upper class Montague/Capulet type vampires. I suppose there are 2 types of vampire movies: Stokerish Dracula movies where there's one vampire who is biting hot chicks and being hunted by a Van Helsing and ones where there are legions of vampires warring against something or other all in leather with automatic weapons, and some super-beast has to be killed at the end. By a hot chick. Oh, and there's a half vampire in there somewhere, maybe some werewolves.

Unfortunately I'm not seeing a tan coloured horse here. Only black (in weathertop) and brown for the other 3 sets. At least they are all (can't tell for Gandalf set) the new type.
-
Blade Trilogy. Nice to see some movies with almost only evil vampires, the way it ought to be. I probably wouldn't watch again, but it wasn't terrible. (certainly better than some of the more recent vampire movies...)

Well the fellowship minifigs looked great (for the most part) and now the sets (although from a distance) look good too. Still not won over for the Gandalf set. I look forward to seeing the orc/uruk/goblins & Gollum in detail. Definitely getting all the other sets. Although disappointed about no Saruman, it does mean that I'll be looking to get the Orc Forge set more than once.

Re static barding: Also, minifig hair doesn't move when a figure bends over or anything, so it's no big deal.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Artanis I replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nope Um, what? They are completely different colours on purpose. There is nothing wrong with these minifigs. -
FIXED LINK: Not sure that line is gonna stand up to blasters though! There's no witnesses...
-
It would be awesome, but unlikely. They did make a George Lucas minifig so why not Peter Jackson? Doubt it would be for sale though. Regarding the Gollum figure, something I found interesting is that in the films he is a pale white/grey flesh colour but was described as black in the book.
-
That is a lot! It's gonna cost a fortune over here... but you'd only want 1, with that many snowtroopers and rebels.

The Legend of the Nocturnus Werewolves
Artanis I replied to Hersbrucker's topic in Guilds of Historica
This just keeps getting better and better! What an awesome scene. I look forward to seeing the rest of the fortress! I like the cage with the crane feeding, and the muddy pond looks great too. -
Regarding a possible Pong Krell, let's take a look at some other minifigs with 4 arms. There was the original General Grievous. Yuck. Frenzy from Space Police 3. Hmm. New Garmadon? Samukai and the newer Grievous look pretty good to me. I think we'd get something like Samukai but with molds that are fairly accurate to the cartoon, just as the new Grievous was.

No, they've just stocked it first. It's not meant to be out until next month officially I believe -

Friday afternoon AWOL from the office session: Myer have in stock Imperial Flagships again, and the Ninjago booster packs. Nothing else new. At last, the local KMart is stocking new stuff. Just Racers, City and a small selection of Ninjago. Not great. Target have had this stuff in better quantities for over a week already, but today I also found an almost empty box of S6 minifigs there. Normally this would be bad news, but a local book/gift/stationery shop also stocks Lego (almost never below RRP) and have decided to put out 9 boxes of minifigs at $3.99... so let's just say I have all that I want. I may go back for more minotaurs in future. Next stop, SW!
