  1. That face is CW perfect. I hope TLG changes the official one to something more like that.
  2. Great dragons guys, working on a swamp monster. you will undoubtedly come across Arcanis I, as he is ever on the road supervising his minions.
  3. 20% is of all Lego at Myer, but the extra 10% is on the selected items. Many of the board games are marked down on clearance and the 20% off should apply too. K Mart has Alien Conquest sets marked down, not sure what the original prices were to say how much by, but the HQ set is now $100.
  4. Ah, feels like home... Well you've captured the essence of the location. Although it's not the ideal embassy, it's a nice start and a good front for something larger like a mountain fortress. It could even be a small outpost.
  5. Thanks guys, I enjoyed the combination of red, black, gold & tan. I tried a few new wall & decoration techniques for me with brackets and studs-on-side bricks. I have changed the order of the photos in the set, the better ones were at the end, so all the really blurry ones have all the views, whoops. (at the moment my photos are being taken by video cameras that have no flash or focus options)
  6. Brilliant. Hey, you know the upcoming LOTR Weathertop set has flick fire missiles? Soooper!
  7. The building is excellent! The story is excellent! The swamp using trans green tiles is a technique I am stealing... Not loving the black/white, but the interior & exterior details and characters I do love. Well done on the star & hexagonal shapes.
  8. Great detail! The snow on the roof is excellent.
  9. Deep in the desert of the Siccus Badlands area controlled by the Kaliphlin Guild, a small building is being constructed to operate as a remote embassy for Nocturnians (or whatever our demonym is, I can never remember)...
  10. And collectible minifigs. (Makes them $3.55ish)
  11. Although Arcanis I was busy attending the Valentine's Ball at the Kaliphlin Embassy in Abyssan, (and hooking up mind you) and his officers busy elsewhere, his charges were all pleased to see (we have our ways) our warrior Kargzaskzin so triumphant in the first round and resilient to the near end in the second. Congratulations to those that tasted victory, and the hosts who made plenty of profit from the business brought by the excellent tournament. One thing that I thought might help in future is to show the guild that each warrior belongs to, as it wasn't always obvious.
  12. Hope I'm not too late!!! Deep in the desert of the Siccus Badlands area controlled by the Kaliphlin Guild, a small building is being constructed to operate as a remote embassy for Nocturnians (or whatever our demonym is, I can never remember). Under the authority of Arcanis I, Cal-Un-Owen takes charge with a small troop of soldiers. Not meant as an offensive outpost move, but as a diplomatic building able to defend itself against the nasties that roam the desert. You know, bandits & big scary monsters. Of course the dark sorcery is used to summons some of these evil beings to secretly use against the travelling Avalonian caravans. So the "embassy" thing is mostly just a front, it's just another way to do over the dumb Avalonians without them realising. So of course lava has been drawn out of the ground... (The real reason there is no back on the building is because I ran out of parts... haha. But at least it then resembles a playset... ) Pics link to Flickr set... more photos there. Arise! Chillin' on the roof The office Administration Thanks for looking, and thanks for your comments too.
  13. The knight is there too. Don't know why there is another blue guy though, hopefully it's a different blue colour.
  14. Did anything eventuate about the prizes for challenge 1? I couldn't find anywhere what the winners got if anything.
  15. Looks like Arcanis I fared better than expected. (I wish I had that much hair for real... ) White tie on black! How did you know? Great build, and I like how you've used the minotaur head piece!
  16. Further to this: The infringement comes if all retailers are deliberately doing this and are found to be "price fixing"
  17. Yeah, I don't want people to think I don't like the sets we've just been shown. I do. I just don't buy SW sets much, I mostly go for the Jedi & clone minifigs - and buying a set depends a lot on those two things. Are there even any clones in the upcoming wave?
  18. Interesting part combinations! How's this btw?
  19. On the box art.
  20. I never knew about this subtheme until a few years ago on BL. I'm not a fan over-all, it's not Forestmen & it's not Wolfpack and it's just a rehash mishmash of the two. The first set seems okay, the second looks ridiculous and has too many big parts. The alternate build looks way better. I would've thought that the small grey thing is not a fountain but maybe a well with a water pump? The large set looks pretty good though, but still has too many big parts. (Of course, this was common in the 90s and even up to recent times)
  21. I imagine you have to rescue the dude in the prison, maybe he's the King, maybe some other notable character. The vampire microfig looks cool.
  22. How cute. (Lego stop motion is cute in general though.) I especially like the scenery & the animation between 20 & 30 seconds.
  23. Prices will go up. You can't buy things for 1c here anymore. In fact, we don't even have 1 or 2c coins anymore. You're lucky if you can use a 5c coin for anything. Lego is not immune to inflation, and if you hadn't noticed, the presentation of this year's sets and packaging is heaps better than what we've had before. Printing is more vivid & consistent, parts are more detailed, the list goes on. Lego sets are getting better, money is getting worth less, of course the prices are going to increase as years go by. And price per piece is not a good way to gauge, by mass is a better way to indicate, and by ratio of uncommon parts. A box of 100 cheese slopes is not going to cost $10. This stuff is totally off-topic, and as usually happens when I join in, Kiel will tell me off in 5 minutes and move this somewhere else. Except that I still haven't really commented on the photos yet: I was really looking forward to CW Padme and she's awful. And I am a fan of the cartoon faces. It was the one set I might've bought. That and Pre Vizla, except there's no Ahsoka either so forget that one too. I will BL Even Piell and maybe Oola, and buy the planet sets.
  24. Funny thing is, he dies shortly after bringing harm to him at the end of ROTJ... And to quote the old Obi Wan: "the jedi that was [Luke's] father died when..." Mace Windu brought harm to him near the end of ROTS! Dooku's plan would've been to capture the Chancellor. I don't think he knows he is in fact his master. If he did, he wouldn't have shoved him around like that I don't think. There was no indication at any stage that he knew. I could be wrong. Lot Dodd is a Neimoidian senator for the republic, Nute Gunray is in charge of the Trade Federation. It has been stated in a previous episode that they don't agree on each other's practices/methods. The senator was present.
  25. For the first question (and I think it's the same with doors in Fortaan) my answer would be that you can stay there. Different to the rocks in Nathuz I think. For the second question, I think you shouldn't place monsters right behind a door, but you should leave an empty space. Then if you pass through the door, you then have to fight the monster. If you lose, you move back 1 space - this means you will have to pass through the door again. We had a long game once where we just couldn't beat a monster and had to go back and forth. It was fun.
