Holodoc replied to Matija's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I ordered a normal copy for me, but I try to get one of these exclusives. Thanks for the info, Matija! -
Thank you Vaders son for your nice words! This was exactly my intention!

Errr - no. But you can put the stickers on the bricks.

After having displayed my first MOC in an exhibition in Frechen earlier this year I tried something in my home town. We have a parish festival every year, where everyone is invited to play, chat with people you haven´t met for a long time, eat and drink and have a good time from Saturday to Sunday. My son and I wanted to do something for the younger children, so we started to think about a big LEGO train display. This is what we build: - a "passenger related loop" with our 8-waggon-Santa Fe and a smaller red train. This was made up with a city surrounding including the Cafe Corner and the Green Grocer and an extended train station. (too bad I have my post office and the Market Street displayed at the Lego Store in Oberhausen right now. ) - a "freight related loop" with three different Engines and various cars. The track ended in two engine sheds and an additional train washing possibility. To fill the gaps between the two loops I hade our complete firefighting team displayed and a larger construction site. Then I still had a smaller black steam engine left over. A 9V engine wouldn´t fit, so I decided to have a museum-train in a garden surrounding. What made the layout really interesting was the fact that we added two crossings in the loops. So the kids had to take care who´s train was first. Sometimes it did not work out... We opened the playground from 12 to 17 hours on Sunday afternoon and it was a success! We didn´t have any time without kids driving trains. Needless to say I was quite tired after this experience. We will continue this 'interactive exhibition' next year! The complete folder. Enjoy!

Hehe, sorry for all you guys who could not make it to our event this year. WE HAVE BEEN THERE! And we have seen all those lovely sets with our own eyes! Some EB´ers agreed that there has to be an even bigger vault somewhere else , because there is only little space left in this room. This was the most interesting section:

It's set no. 4996 - beach house. Definitely "YES". Always hope for better pics ON!
-
Excuse if I´m a bit harsh now, but what are you going to tell us? You have build the creator beach house and have put an Indiana Jones fig in front of it. You took three awfully blurry pics of the same scene. And last of all you opened another thread doing exactly the same with the IJ soldier figs. Some friendly advice : 1) Take photos of different angles, they provide a better overview. This is way better than showing us 3 pics of the same situation. 2) When taking pictures of your Lego, please have a look at the photos taken, before you post them. Blurry and large pictures are a pain to look at. If you don´t know how to do it, feel free to have a look at our great tutorials, Hinckley for an example made a great (but rather large) topic about photopgraphing Lego here. 3) Please post, when there is something to say. I don´t see a need for this particular thread here. Improvement ON!

Now I´m very glad I didn´t even consider buying it. You have propably created the only different use for it besides the main model! Thanks for sharing.
-
I always waited for this moment. Thanks, robbo, for pointing it out. Hurray Eurobricks!
-
Congrats on this one, err - two! Envy ON!
-
Excuse me? HFOL is already reserved to "Holographic Fan Of Lego". btw: Some with age 25+ still post like TFOL's. *FOL ON!

Same here. I expected the grave to be a lot bigger than yours. And wasn´t Dumbledore's death and the tomb mentioned in the sixth book already? One last point: The faces are smiling... Thanks for sharing, Matn!

Price drop on Star Justice and Space Skulls - S@H
Holodoc replied to Svelte's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I couldn´t have said it better! I got the Star Justice set on our event and have to say: Neat, but I would not have spend the regular price for it. Sorry for the builders, but it´s "just" a better parts pack. And I doubt that Space will continue in the Factory series. -
Happy birthday, Staudie! Keep on rockin´, err - interviewing!
-
Great, Ralph! The first thing I do when seeing planes is take a closer look on the canopy. This is no regular brick, is it? But besides that is fantastic. Lots of details, very well done!

Before I continue with the Billund story a few words from my editor: It wasn´t KhoRne or PaulC who did the sets, the event extra crew did BUT KhoRne did the certificate. It wasn´t RAS that won the minigolf - it was Copmike. SORRY for that - you know it was late and I had a bad day and then there was the earthquake and the eagre ... But here we go: On the third day some missed the breakfast. Mmmmh. How could they? Those who managed to get up in time went straightly to the park to meet one of the model builders there, Mr. Abdallah Kobeissi (thanks Copmike ) He told us about the upcoming new Legoland in Dubai (little) and about the work he does (much more). We were able to ask questions about what we always wanted to ask a masterbuilder. That was quite interesting. I almost got him to the point to tell something about future plans in miniland but then again he realized what he was going to tell and took the emergency brake right in time. Damn! At the end of a 2 hours session he was handed out one of the fantastic Space Hotties set. He´s on the group picture as well. At this point we had to say goodbye to Morten who was the first to leave due to family business. After that the shop(s) were browsed again, but still there was no deal to be made. In the afternoon we met to go to the Billund bath, where one of the last challenges took place: Swoosh a red Duplo Tractor while jumping from the spring board with the most stupid expression on your face. This was fun - sorry no pictures, though. Guess who won that: With a handicapped bonus, was able to win the first price and he deserved it. Ok, it´s not fine to make jokes about invalids. After a detour in the water slide and the bubble bath we went out again - this was definitely my shortest stay in a swimming pool ever! We splitted again, some were returning to the village while others didn´t give up and went back to the park and the stores within. Lucky me, Lasse was already there, trying to fill one of those blue buckets. I was allowed to help him with it and got some quite nice parts there. According to the leftovers after we finished, Duplo isn´t going to sell well these days: The crates were full of Duplo bricks whereas the system bricks were almost completely gone. I managed to get my hands on three building instructions which were thrown away. I don´t know if I ever will build something with them, but hey, they were for free! Finally after begging and pleading, we went to the fire fighting game. And there it happened again: The Viking team fudged themselves in the first row which gave them the opportunity to catch the fastest fire engine that was there! This not being enough they had to be four, whereas all other teams consisted of three members. *boooh* It came out with no surprise: Vikings (Copmike, Ras, Kim and TT) first, the Continental team (Yoda, Sne and me) close *cough* second and the U30 team (Green Hair, Christian and Lasse) third. The Overseas team (S4J, Bricklord) was afraid of losing and didn´t even line up to this contest. I wanted to take pictures, but my team wouldn´t let me. Btw. now I know why Sne is wearing glasses (I wished he had done so during the contest). The gates of the park closed a last time for me when we headed back to the LL village. In the evening we all met up again to have some freestyle building. The Indiana Jones' sets and some others were built and we had a lot fun chatting and building. At some point the four rebel minifigs of Copmike's battle pack broke free and were discovering the site. Aaaargh! I can´t reach the shutter release! Hide and seek Careful now! Yummy rb - we have to get there! Forget that insecticide next time. Technic you can rely on - mostly. One for you, one for me... I´m not free from giddiness. And this IS high! When I said wash the engine, I didn´t mean at 120°C! We´ve seen all, let´s get outta here. This was the best evening of all the event. Amazing to see that this evening all were in bed a lot earlier than the days before... Sne did it, because he was the one to pick up the ladies from the train station: Aredhel and her girlfriend Sabine (not (yet) on the forum) were accompanying us for the very last day. Everybody was glad to have such beautiful attendance for the last trip to the park. I for myself had to leave before that. But I had a nice company during breakfast at least. Aredhel got a special surprise for being the one that is ON the events just for one day every time: A Hagrid´s maxifig. Well folks, that´s it for now. I will end this like I begun: For the story of the last hours please head over to the many, many reports of our fabulous event 2008 that are published around here. If you haven´t had a look at them yet, the complete folder of the event pics is here. Thanks for reading!

So, hello (again)! From Russia...
-
Hello Legan and welcome to the friendly place of Eurobricks! From Russia like Dark Lord? Seems we are heading eastwards these days. I would like to know if you have all the sets at your toyshops like we do. I always thought Russia would have fewer sets than let´s say middle Europe. Is there a difference for you when you browse S@H (shop.lego.com)? And last of all how old are you? Enjoy your time on Eurobricks, I´m sure you´ll find some friends here soon.
-
Hey , get the f**k out of my - wait, where´s you title?
-
Hello and welcome to Eurobricks! Would you bother to tell a bit more about yourself here? Have fun around the forum.
-
I actually like them and I think Lego has made the right decision to bring Hot-Wheels like cars. They offer the same playability like Matchbox cars do with the extra that you can build something completely different with them. And of course you can build the smaller cars in the bag! Yes, Tiny Turbos ON!
-
I ordered mine in march and I didn´t even get a notice when the release date changed. So don´t rely on anything like that.
-
I have ordered a couple of these. They still are not shipped so far. I will let you know when they arrived. But I have no particular info about S@H.

Great bargain, Anubis! What is "Franks" related to €? Is it swiss?
