Thank you guys for your kind replies. I´m currently thinking of creating a new Holodoc in flesh. After all Star Trek is a license theme. What do you think?

Hi again,, Routemaster! I believe you´re right - but there´s nothing wrong with that. I´m close behind you (39). Ýou grew up with Lego and your first set is from 2006? I had a feeling that you were from Germany: Aslo nochmals viel Spaß hier und Danke, daß Du Dich selbst vorgestellt hast. I live close to Venlo (Nettetal).

Yep! Nothing to add. Welcome to Eurobricks, Routemaster! Btw.: Mind to tell us a bit more about yourself here?

These are two points I hoped TLC would never had done. The old 9V system allowed to use multiple wires to be combined for (almost) unlimited lenghts. Now you can´t extend the cables any more and are limited to around 50cm (I didn´t measure it exactly). That is really disappointing. Yeah, the AC adapter jack... The NXT block would also had been nice if it had an AC adapter. Surprisingly enough the old Mindstorms set (1.0) had a power inlet, with V1.5 and 2.0 it was removed. Why?

Well, two accounts for just one person isn´t a clever idea.

Captain, I found another thread with beautiful and detailed pictures of the cutter. Click on image to go there.

Great to see another train fan around! Welcome to Eurobricks, enjoy your time around here! Oh, we are all waiting to see first pics of the new train system. I have a feeling that we get astounding new possibilities next year. Too sad it won´t be powered by 9V from the power outlet, but the new rechargeable batteries are way better than the IR-system. To you have pics of your collection? And where are you from if I may ask? I´m just curious... Train ON!

Oh, I forgot to mention: 69,99$? That´s insane again, being just 44,45€ We will be ripped off, paying the special price of 79,99€!

Here he is: Almost like the old one. Besides: He has a mobile (holographic) emitter on his left arm now! So beware - I´m no longer limited to the sickbay or the holodeck. "This is not Risa, is it?" "Geez, the people around here have a strange skin tone..."

Thank you for your great review, 5150 Lego! A very special thanks for your views on the loading capability. I never would have thought the truck would fit in the ferry, but it´s great to see it does! I had the chance to hold this set in my hands during our event and the opening mechanism is absolutely stunning! It all works so well I couldn´t close my mouth. Like you mentionend already, the gates open and the platform is lowering at the same time. You must have done that yourself to realize how ingeniously it is build. This is definitely on my wanted list, but my wife told me not to buy any Lego any more this year. Well, she said this year, so I will order mine 1.1.09. This is a perfect 10/10 in my opinion. And if you still have any doubts about the set, look at the alternative models you can build: For the first time this is a set I would buy just for the alternative models. 4997 ON!

I saw first parts of the whole diorama a long time ago and didn´t think of the fact it was still unknown here. This is really impressive and I liked to see the island growing and growing. Every month a beautiful detail was added. Now it´s almost finished and it´s on display on Langeoog (well, what did you think? ). Maybe this folder of pics will help.

At the end of the tunnel there´s a light! I got an email today that my bike was found in the shop in Oberhausen! Unbelieveable, but I must have dropped it when returning my post office. It was sooo crowded that day, I still cannot believe noone picked it up and took it home. Lucky me! For the avatar minifig: I painted a second one yesterday. Holodoc is back in the race!

Didn´t somebody ask to see all of my houses lined up? I don´t remember who it was, but anyway - here you go: More pics are in my brickshelf folder. Enjoy!

Is there no interior? I can´t rate the set before knowing the inside of the hospital: An OR with recovery room, the wards including an ICU, kitchen, entrance, waiting area and so on. If everything is included I will rate it "5". No, seriously, this is, mmh - to be very generous - a good first trial, nothing more. If you had asked me 30 years ago I would surely had given it a "5", but looking at it now it will not get higher than "2" (if not "1). More pics ON!

IF we ever get such a set you can PM me. I´m in for this special deal.

Nice review again, Brickster! This set is a disappointment for me, I rated it "2". For those reasons: * The cars included in that set are ugly, plain ugly. There´s nothing nice about them. Too small, no nice extras, just the few bricks to make it almost look like a car. In my opinion teh whole set deserved to be bigger than what we see. * Stickers! I do not like stickers, but placing them across several bricks is a NO GO! * The set was only available in the US? No business idea I agree to.

And you call me a tough reviewer?
-
Mind telling us the source? Is this "official" or just "I heard somebody mentioning something" ? Otherwise it´s still rumours. I believe some of us may have noticed that already...
-
Good, but I like the heli of set 6571 better: Another "4" from me.

Brilliant work, Kobe! 7-wide, I´ve never tried that. But your design is both elegant and functional. On first sight I thought the cabin in the back woul have been a bullpen (never used that expression before...). But the idea of a "stuff" compartement is great, the crew is ready for instant action. Let them go!

Here a piece count would have helped. Anyone? I voted 100€, BUT only for this set. I would prefer to buy the plain windmill only - without the BURPS, the house and the van and pay <50€ though.
-
I´m glad you are reviewing 4-digit sets now, Brickster! This pretty sums it up! The firestation was one of the few sets in my childhood I owned and was NOT classic space! I especially liked the roller doors, this was one of the first sets they came with. In the late 80´s I sold it to my nephew. Darn, I really regret it. When I asked him a couple of years ago if he still owned it (and I could buy it back) he also had made cash out of it. I gave it a "4". There is always room for improvement, like the helipad mentioned. So it can´t be a "5" in my opinion. Take off you rose coloured glasses.

Wooha! I thought I never would see a nice Mars Mission set, but this Walker ist the best proof I was wrong. It really looks good and I love the bricks used to make the shape. The airtank is cool and for once I have to say even the stickers are looking good. Man, did I really say that? Normally I hate stickers. Nice review (some pictures would have gotten better with macro ON, but as it seems to be time to forgive I won´t point on that any longer) Thank you very much VBBN!

Thanks for your kind replies, guys! I already feel a little better now. The MOC was shielded as long as it was on display, but they changed the MOC last week, because they had a new one for July. Then they put in ON the shelves (ca 2,20m high) but UNshielded. It was on the shelf to the left (on top of the 4956 house).
