  1. Congrats on the opening of your new website! At first I thought "Now everybody is creating his own Lego related website? " But I´ve browsed through it and I have to say: Very well done! Luckily NO new forum. The design is very consistently laid out (a joy to look at - like your MOC´s) - some recently opened websites could/should learn from you.
  2. And who is "they"? Mind telling us a bit more about yourself? Looking at the title of this thread I would especially be interested in how old you are.
  3. All 5? The fun starts with 11 cars! (I´m running it with 8 cars) So it
  4. Boooh! All the surprise is gone now! Hehe, nice find, zeki! There are some really nice ideas in the set. Just for the parts, I´ll get it. Probably along with the castle one.
  5. Can you please tell me where the country Amsterdam is? I would never have said that... And I´m one of those stupid Germans who wouldn´t have done it either. Geeez, I´m glad we don´t speak french here. All in all it´s one thing I prefer Eurobricks over 1000steine.de: I love the international flair around here. And people are more impressed when I tell them I play and am organized with Lego on a world-wide basis.
  6. ... otherwise it woud have been rather strange for Eurobricks...
  7. This is a pic aof the Galactic Mediator "stamp". I don´t know what it is good for, though. It was in my dark ages...
  8. In sickbay? Wait.... ... you LIAR!
  9. Cools idea - but where are the (red and white) classic space guys?
  10. Well, even a german keyboard layout cannot stop a real viking! We had a real nice day at my home town. Shall I skip the notice that you left the train a station too soon, Ras? Ok, I´ll skip it. We first went to my working place the local hospital to have dinner. After that Ras was the first foreign AFOL to take a look at my hospital MOC which is in the hospital right now for it will be exhibited there (for the next years?) from the following weekend on. Needless to say I´m quite proud that my MOC reached it´s final destination now. We then headed over to my place where we had a lot of talking about AFOL topics and some members of Eurobricks, but relax, Hinckley and Copmike, I won´t mention your name here. I showed Ras how crowded a lego collection can be and what the limitations regarding free space in my house are. Maybe I will use the new build wooden house to store my entire lego collection. But don´t tell my sons. It was a great day that went by really fast. Thank you, Ras for stopping by (and handing over the BNSF ). I hope this event will have a sequel, I´d love to see some other people from the forum here as well, or go to their place instead. Personal contact ON! EDIT: Just in case anybody wants to know where we were exactly. Here!
  11. OK, Kernow you beat me to it. Anyway, I post my review in your thread then: The premium collector guide arrived today! The box was quite huge, the extras take their toll. A small sidenote: This package was far better packed than the normal copies. Instead of the paperback copy of the normal version, the premium one is a real book with hardcover. The silver letters on the front and the side identify your copy as the premium collector edition. On the back you see your number of the limited edition (3333 published). Other than that there is NO differnce concerning the contents inside the book. Let´s see what the extra specials are: a 2x4 chrome gold brick with the years of the anniversary engraved "1958-2008". Very nice. For me, I would have preferred a gold brick without any markings, but I´m far from complaining. Chrome gold is always good! The 50th anniversary minifig. Classic smile, classic dress with a red cap and the lovely anniversary logo on the shirt. Very well done! I might say they almost couldn´t have done better. and finally a 1x8 yellow brick with "LEGO® Fan" on the one side and "Anno 1958" on the back. Note that this brick was kind of glued to the back of the paper holder. I had to remove a slimy paste before I was able to handle it. I think this 1x8 brick is supposed to be worn on the badges widely spread at exhibitions. Let´s see if we see any of those in the future. I can´t see any use for the back printing though. Random shot of the interior. The premium edition compared to the standard edition. Final ratings: Book___: :classic: :classic: (instead of 4 for the paperback issue) 2x4 brick: :classic: :classic: Minifig__: :classic: :classic: 1x8 brick: :classic: So far I didn´t regret to have my copy upgraded to the premium edition. If you are a true collector this is a MUST BUY. Now let´s see of fast they sell the 3333 copies.
  12. Hartelijk gefeliciteerd met je 34ste verjaardag! What can I add what the others haven´t said so far? All the best - and have a nice day!
  13. What would you expect? Here I am: but IRL I am: Quite a surprise, isn´t it? Nice topic, btw!
  14. Very nice MOC, Erdbeereis! Like an official Lego product. A clear 5/5 ... and one small sidenote: boring television program! What about this or this
  15. Aaaargh! I spy this exclusive rare MISB set was sold in Germany! And I didn´t buy it. Must have been in my dark ages... Great review, Copmike!
  16. Nice find! As the olympic games will start today I thought this thread needed a bit more attention. So here are some pics (frontpage anyone? ): The birdsnest: The water cube: (yes, it´s completely illuminated!) And there is so much more to see! It´s made by a (the?) Hong Kong Lego Users Group and it´s plain brilliant. I´m missing words for all the great details they added and the accuracy to the real buildings. Check out the complete BS-folder (in the first post) with pics of the work in progress. Do it now! : lough:
  17. It looks like it worked out to cancel the order of the normal version and "upgrade" it to the premium edition! I would have prefered a golden brick without the engraving though, but the minifig is very nice and I have a use for the 1x8 brick as well. 3 days to go!
  18. 300+ € for a set with the wrong theme? Naaaah...
  19. Ha - I always wanted to reply to this brilliant thread, but somehow I lost track of the topic. Anyway, here we go: Johnny Thunder A classical impulse set from 1999. Quasi the father of Indiana Jones (lego-wise). I like that this particular set was a limited release. Makes me rare (if MISB ).
  20. Happy birthday, phred! Relax, hang out and enjoy: Have a great one, buddy!
  21. This still works nowadays. These were the times... Although I don´t recall Lego sets in fuel stations in the past I would appreciate to see Lego "on the go" now. It´s holiday time and I have two sons, you know.
  22. In the description of the starship the seller wrote he paid even more than 400€ (on BL I assume) to get the bricks. To me it smells more like "I started something I wasn´t able to overlook and now I run out of money". But looking at the non-existing replies to this offer you´re surely right - it IS overpriced (you could get a Taj Mahal for this)!
  23. Done! I just made my first trip with the (slightly modified) plane. Fly ON!
  24. Holodoc

    Slave1

That´s a brilliant idea and you made the 'first edition' very well! I love to build a complete different thing just from one set (like this). What set will be next? Shall we try 8150 again? Fun ON!
  25. That´s exactly what I thought when browsing the instructions. Good eyes, metalandi!
