LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)
Numbuh1Nerd replied to The Joker1's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Oh yeah, you're right, that is what they said. So I guess that and the Batcave then, right? lol -
So has anybody mentioned the (albeit low-res) picture we got of the Big Hero 6 team? Because I think there may be a chance we see these guys in a set as Disney seems to be struggling with the film's marketing and will probably try to force these guys into as many toys as possible so it gets on the map.

The brown beard just doesn't look right on him..

That works okay, it's probably our best flesh option we've got. I stuck it on a Mad Scientist torso and black legs.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)

So the Facebook page uploaded an interview with the game's executive producer who said there wouldn't be an open world, but plenty of side missions of DC characters outside the Batman cast, specifically a large cast of Lanterns, green and otherwise! The suits are getting an update, too. Their replacing suit swappers with a wheel where you can access any unlocked suit at any time. Plus Lex, Cyborg, and Joker are getting suits, too! Space fights are a thing, too, in which you can either be using vehicles like the Batrocket or characters like Superman. The Watchtower is our new hub world, of course. -
I think Marvel might finally see Fox's X-Men and eventual Fantastic Four movies as a threat, but now it feels like Marvel is only using their comics to promote the movies which is frankly a little insulting. It really seems as though Marvel is in the movie business and makes comic book advertisements. I mean, we have seen a number of times in the past where continuity has changed to suit upcoming movies. The first one I think of is when they gave Spider-Man natural web-shooters to match up with Sam Raimi movies.

Great Coulson! I agree that you should try to seek out that other hairpiece, though. The Phase 2 gun seems a little thin, if that makes sense. Try to bulk it up a little more. Great stuff from autorazr, as always! I think I'm going to make an attempt at that Starfire, and possibly Oddball if I can find that head. Bishop looks great, too! It would be nice to see the rest of the future mutants by his side!

I dunno if you guys have seen this, but this website sells instructions and parts for mostly purist Superhero figs, as well as some Dr. Who, Supernatural, and Walking Dead stuff. http://brickstorms.com/

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)

I was really expecting them to make a new Alfred with the new piece from the CMF Old Man. Although, the use of the shield as a tray like that is nice. Is that new? Also, any guesses as to what Alfred's standing in front of? It looks vaguely familiar. -
I doubt that they would make Daredevil an exclusive, since he's about to be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I think him, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and maybe Jessica Jones will wind up in sets at some point soon, particularly if they actually get the movie spin-offs for them. I saw the new X-Men set at Toys R Us Thursday, but I couldn't afford it. I'm not a fan of the Tumbler (although the DKR one we got in LEGO form was pretty neat) so I'm hoping the Tumbler just doesn't happen. Honestly, it's not even the best movie Batmobile. Heck, it's not even the best Bat-vehicle in the Dark Knight movies.

On a more recent episode of Fat Man on Batman (it was either 68 or 69) Kevin told a story about a joke about Batman and Robin's relationship that DC wouldn't let him do. So, um, kinda. Groot's body is going to be hard to work with it, because that really effects the proportions of the whole thing. Anybody consider that "New LEGO Batman Product" doesn't necessarily mean a set?

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)

That would be the legendary Batman of Zurr-En-Arrh! Originally a Batman from another planet, now it's a back-up personality for Batman, just in case his current one's compromised. It seems like the kinda suit that would be used as a variant costume in the game. That image of Space Batman and hypnotized Green Lantern is likely just promotional art, not cover art. Nothing to worry about too much. -
Sir Brickalot, PLEASE get me tutorial for that Rhino suit! I love it so much!! The minifig inside could use some work, mostly a different torso. That mask on Robin makes him look really old. The suit itself actually seems familiar, he may have worn something like that at one point. I'd suggest finding a way to attach Man-Bat's wings closer to where his arms go, maybe even attaching them to his arms. They don't look quite natural the way they are. Good stuff overall, Sir!
-
I'm going to make the assumption that the new Scuba Batsuit is going to be one of the power suits in the game, and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the other two are variant costumes. I'm hoping I'm wrong, though, because I would absolutely kill for Zur En Arrh Batman. It's one of those Batsuits that just can't be ignored. I don't mind getting Batman figs so often as long as they're variants like this that satisfy my nerdy cravings. Although, if this isn't going to happen, it makes me a little nervous about the '66 Batmobile we saw earlier in one of these pictures. Not to mention the fact that it's using the current cowl except for the Space Batsuit. That makes me wonder... That would be pretty sweet, honestly. Any excuse to get Killer Moth for me!

Super Fish Oil's got a decent idea about the Watchtower. That would be pretty cool, though not as cool as Marvel's open world New York City. I was hoping they'd get rid of those lame suits, too. They always felt very action figure-y and not very Batman-y. I know he has some suits for certain conditions, but when you need one to place bombs, and another to be fireproof, and another to break glass... They should probably come up with a way to better incorporate his utility belt in place of those. At least they look cooler and far less bulky now. -
A lot of this stuff looks too much like what LEGO would do, apart from Cyborg's abundant leg printing. The new Wonder Woman uses all of the same pieces in different prints. Cyborg's headpiece looks this enough and has the eye printed on the piece like LEGO would do. Besides, we've already gotten New 52 versions of Aquaman, Flash, and Martian Manhunter, so it would only make sense that, as the old Superman/Wonder Woman set's exiting stores and the Man of Steel sets are fading, that they would reissue Supes, Wonder Woman, and Batman to match. We've already had speculation about Green Lantern coming soon, and after that the New 52 Justice League (which is obviously their end game right now, what with DC shoving that down our throats) will only be missing Cyborg. Plus we're going to need a new Batman cowl when Ben Affleck graces our movie screens in 2016. Classic Wonder Woman'll look a little out of place next to all of the New 52 Justice League, plus her new costume's better anyway. Cyborg has to round out the League, once again for New 52 purposes. I hadn't considered the fact that they're using black heads for Batman, which could be concerning. Hopefully they realize that Batman's a big enough deal for them to try to perfect that whole flesh-on-dark printing thing.

You're right, that is the New 52 Batman. I didn't think his logo was that big in the New 52, but it's about the same size and the belts match. Isn't it odd how many Batsuits we've identified by their utility belts?

That's why I'm wondering. They already have a piece that would work just fine, so why make a new one if not to implement it in a figure that needs it? The Hawks are just the first two winged heroes that came to mind. Maybe Vulture in Marvel's corner? He's supposed to be in the Sinister Six movie and his wings are more hi-tech in that one.

Hey, wait! Where's Aquaman!? Did he get bumped from the Justice League?? I mean, Robin's my favorite superhero ever but he does not get to steal Aquaman's spot on the League!

That new Batman cowl looks like it will definitely be making its way into a set, since it seems to be following the new pattern of eye-level white strips. The New 52 Wonder Woman, Superman, and Cyborg, as well as Martian Manhunter, seem like very strong candidates for release at this point, too. I'm thinking we'll see another DC wave later this year with Space Batman and Green Lantern fighting Brainiac. Also, do you think that those wings on the Space Batsuit are any indication towards the appearance of Hawkman/Hawkgirl?

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)

Things of note: -Everyone has their New 52 costumes -The new Batman costume looks an awful lot like the Batman vs. Superman costume -BEYOND Gotham, maybe as in BATMAN Beyond? -
I agree. I think this is likely going to be an origin story on the side for Cyborg. 2018 seems pretty far away, though, given the Justice League LEGO is creating is the New 52 incarnation, which includes Cyborg. I'd say we'll see him after Green Lantern, but before Cyborg's cinematic minifig comes out. Well, I'm still trying to get my hands on a $30 Lex Luthor minifig from the LEGO Batman 2 pre-order. I'd rather our exclusive fig not be such a detrimental one. Make it Vicki Vale or someone insignificant like that.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Video Game Discussion)

I just want a DC equivalent to the Marvel game. Plenty of obscure characters and easter eggs, no constant reliance on Batman, a better story, etc.. The one thing that really bugged me about LEGO Batman 2 is that until the last levels of the game you only ever played as Batman, Robin, and Superman, and even then, there were more supporting Batman characters (like Vicki Vale) than there were DC heroes and villains. All of the villains except for Braniac and Lex Luthor were Batman villains. The new game should, at the very least, have two to three iconic villains for each of the primary Justice League members. I'm talking Lex, Bizarro, and Braniac for Superman; Cheetah, Circe, and Ares for Wonder Woman; Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, and Mirror Master for Flash; Black Manta, Ocean Master, and the Shark for Aquaman; Sinestro, Atrocitus, and Star Sapphire for Green Lantern, etc.. I don't care so much that they include a lot of Batman villains, just be fair to the rest of your Justice League as well. Don't make Batman 3, make Justice League. -
Nah, an exclusive GL minifig would mean that he' be a pain in the megablocks to get. Just put him in a set.

I JUST now realized that Star-Lord, Gamora, and Drax are all wearing variations of the same outfit, which is actually a prison uniform. God I feel stupid.
