LEGO DC Villains (Videogame)
Numbuh1Nerd replied to LEGODalekbuster523's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I doubt we'll see many if any Batman variants in this one, and it doesn't seem like we're getting any new non-movie figures we don't already know about. I would bet that the Talons and Omac will be in there, though, and maybe Jessica Cruz depending on how many heroes get in on the party. -

That definitely adds up to me, if they decide to reveal anything it'll be that. I heard Marvel Studios is sitting out Comic Con this year and that only the television stuff is making it this year. -

So we just got an official look at our SDCC exclusive - a lovely-looking Aquaman set featuring zero exclusive pieces! Could this be the year where SDCC doesn't bring nonexclusive tears?! -

Oh man, he looks good! I also noticed Psycho Pirate around 7:20, and that confirms Susan Eisenberg as Diana and Josh Keaton as Hal! That's definitely not Khary Payton playing Cyborg, though.. -

I didn't! Where exactly was he? I've been anxious to see Mirror Master in LEGO form for awhile! We've got an open-world Smallville confirmed (hopefully with plenty of early 2000's jokes), Ventriloquist confirmed, and Kevin Conroy basically confirmed (if "the Joker is THE Joker" and "Batman is THE Batman" and Joker is Mark Hamill...that's easy math). This game gets more exciting every day! -
Thank you so much! That guess is correct! My Vibe uses those arms, too! They're really useful and they come in a great set!

Oh, that voice cast! Mark Hamill was already a gift, but that is absolutely JLU's own Michael Rosenbaum as Flash! I can't wait to see what other actors are returning to their roles! I had to check on that, too, but it's actually Metallo! That's a design pulled straight from the Rebirth comics, something we're seeing a lot of with this game. Even Clayface, while seemingly just a recycled design from the original Lego Batman game so far, looks a lot more like his Rebirth counterpart than most other recent redesigns. The only big difference I can see from here is that he's much smaller, but he might just have a bigfig transformation, and maybe a few others like Jake did in Lego Dimensions. If that's the final board (which it usually is) it also looks like we'll be getting 175 characters total (164 if those lighter spots at the end are for custom characters). Including the player character, we know of 29 of them, so that leaves a presumed maximum of 146 to-be-revealed characters, and a minimum of 135. What are the odds we get all of them revealed before launch? -
Clever use of the unseperated daggers! Great work!

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
This might be getting off topic, but it sure would be a good place to start. There really is only one way to solve the problem for good, and that's the Green Lantern Corps movie doing well, which may or may not even *do* at this point. If smaller corners of the brand propped up the movie, maybe proved that there's an audience for the Lantern Corps after all, we could get something going. Either the movie, or a tv show, and the movie sounds a lot more likely at the moment. Let's stay on topic; it's not just that Green Lantern bombed, it's that the merchandise didn't sell either. Major retailers got nervous and said no to any GL-branded merch, movie-related or not, and that's why we don't get Green Lantern-focused stuff anymore. No one wants to sell it. -

That's a pretty safe bet, if you ask me. Of course, maybe that's just because I'm content with the one Deathstroke we already have Joker and Ivy look like a sure thing, but Grodd and Deathstroke I have doubts about. Granted, I thought the same things about Superman and Blue Beetle in that order last time and here we are. I'm hoping/expecting us to see the Crime Syndicate next year now. We haven't gotten a DC game before that didn't have the main antagonist(s) on the shelf, and this would be a strange exception. Splitting them across two or three sets seems feasible, and like an easy sell - they're evil versions of the Justice League, what kid isn't into that? The villain focus of this game does give me a feeling that we won't be seeing too many new heroes next year, though. That new Catwoman doesn't use the LBM mask mold, so that's probably not coming. I'd give my left kidney for that Livewire, but she's got a new hairpiece, so that's two points against it That Riddler would make good use of the existing hat and the question mark piece from the LBM sets, but it's also that weird War of Jokes and Riddles design, so I'm gonna say "hopefully not" to that one. The use of an existing mold for Mercy's hat makes me hopeful that they'll include her, but we just got a Lex set and I doubt they'd want to do two, let alone one with his assistant as a selling point. That Jim Gordon figure looks really good, he could maybe get tossed into a Batman set. The only thing interesting I noticed in the character customization bit was a pink ray gun that looks like it could be Toyman's, but that's about it as far as relevancy to possible future sets. -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
To be fair, DC's made a real stride lately in putting other characters in the forefront enough to be marketable. Cyborg and Aquaman just made their cinematic debut, we just got a 52-episode season of a cartoon spotlighting a lot of DC's B-Z list characters, and the direct-to-video stuff like Batman Unlimited and the Lego movies have given attention to some great characters beyond the usual four (jeez, it feels like yesterday there was only a "usual one"!) Personally, I don't see why their current formula of One Batman/Superman/Flash per 2 Other Guys couldn't be the norm. That's gotten us Blue Beetle, Firestorm, Lobo, Krypto, Batwoman, OMAC, all sorts of great figures, and returns decent enough that I at least haven't heard about them. DC just needs to figure out how to revitalize its IPs to make the brand itself marketable again (or at least fix Green Lantern's rep, because really, he's a merchandising department's dream come true if they'd get a good project with that name on it!) -
WOW. That Deadpool is so good I had to take a second look to realize it wasn't the official figure! Your Fantastic Four are great, too, especially the Thing! Mysterio's helmet is downright inspired - I've never seen anyone do a version of him with those pieces before! Wonderful stuff! I can't wait to see what else you've got in store!

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation

Well, the movie is set to release next April, so probably around then. I'm no expert on how these releases work, but if it were a January release I think we would've heard something about it by now, and they aren't going to wait four months to merch it. -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation

This is supposed to be a reboot of DC Superhero Girls, something that wouldn't happen if they didn't intend to revitalize the toyline to match. I'd say we'll see sets based on it, but they'll probably still be minidolls. I'm not sure I'd want our first Zatanna to look like that anyway (even if it is one of my more favorite designs from that bunch). Bumblebee might come sooner than later, given she was a member of both the Teen Titans and the Doom Patrol - both of whom are getting shows on the DC streaming service. That added in with the DCSHG spotlight could help her pop up in the near future. Batgirl's costume from the '66 tv show was purple and yellow, as is her most recent costume in the comics. The purple and yellow is usually the color scheme they go with when they pitch her to younger kids, especially girls (when they're not using pink for some ungodly reason). I'm not willing to make any solid calls on that until we get a trailer. Right now I'm not sure there're enough figures to justify two sets, since the only major characters we know about for sure are Billy and Doctor Sivana. If Superman has more than a cameo, I'd say two sets. If there's any inkling of us seeing the proper Marvel family (who've all been cast for this) all suited up and kicking megablocks, I'd kick that number up to three just to fit them all in - assuming it's not a huge spoiler. -
This one's not exactly pissed off, but it definitely seems like a chubby kid about to start somethin',which feels right to me!

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation

I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if we got exactly that soon. They've not gotten a lot of use out of those stretched arms, and Plastic Man is getting a fair bit of spotlight at DC right now, between a new team and solo book and a nice couple of focused episodes on JLA. Woozy Winks, on the other hand.....maybe buy a custom Nope. -
It's from the CMF Space Villain! I can't get a good picture right now, but the Bane head shows WAY too much green. The Doom head is better, but mostly just looks like a mess of metal plates. It really just looks like he has the wrong head, imo. Personally, I would keep looking.

According to Mariopower on Instagram, we're going to get a new Black Manta figure soon, one that looks like it's coming from the movie! So the Aquaman movie is almost definitely getting some sets, and we may actually get our first look at the cinematic Black Manta soon!! -

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm not saying *every* character, just the main antagonist(s). And an odd choice like putting a Red Lantern up against Aquaman is too strange to not have to do with that pattern. Plus, these movies are always built around advertising new sets - and the only thing in that trailer that's on store shelves right now is Lobo and his bike. I'm starting to think that maybe we won't be getting movie tie-in sets for Aquaman after all - but instead an Aquaman set with that "aqua-jet" and Ocean Master, and a set with Atrocitus and Dex-Starr. -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
It seems strange to me that they would make Atrocitus the big bad in an Aquaman movie without the intention to release him officially soon. Every other Lego DC movie villain saw a release in sets either prior to their movie or that same year: Darkseid, most of the Legion of Doom, Brainiac, Joker, and Reverse Flash.
