  1. I just wanted to add some new perspective to these two bits of criticism: There are actually plenty of open world missions, and even open world boss fights! I was just a big ol' dummy, as they were hiding behind a couple of the races and gold bricks! Perfectly satisfied with that aspect! Brandon Routh apparently did record for Ray Palmer! I was only really hearing the one line, and he does in it in kind of a weird tone, so I thought it was an impression. Routh apparently is also the voice of Shazam in this game! I should also note that Vixen - while not patterned off of her television counterpart like Ray is - is in fact played by Megalyn Echikunwoke, who portrays the modern Vixen in the Arrowverse! Oh, and Billy Batson is played by the same kid who played him in DC Showcase: Superman/Shazam!, which is also the same kid who plays Steven Universe!
  2. That definitely looks like the case, but the scary thing is that in both cases we don't know whether those are the exception to the main theme or the rule. It's not impossible that the only superhero sets we get from here on are Batman, Spider-Man, and whatever movie tie-ins come up.
  3. Honestly, that would've made all the sense in the world. The set's coming out after the movie releases, so they wouldn't be spoiling that chunk of the film (which they seem to want to keep under wraps). The builds would've been crazy-interesting. They could've recycled some of the same Aquaman prints from the current set, if not the whole figure, rather than making a brand-new Aquaman. Doing movie Ocean Master and a goon or two would easily fill out the set's minifig quota. There's no aquatic theme on shelves right now to compete with (or vice versa). There's just no reason not to, apart from a lack of faith in the IP. Do you think this is something we might see going forward? Fewer sets based on DC movies and more comic-based sets loosely tying into them?
  4. Great work! I'm only familiar with maybe half of those characters but I love the designs of all of them!
  5. So, kinda surprised no one's mentioned this, but we've gotten leaks of a new Aquaman minifig and an Ocean Master! Ocean Master is basically the same design from the D2V movie, but Aquaman looks more like a combo of the DCEU Aquaman and the classic one, with the new dreadlocks hair in classic yellow, a new bearded face, and a new, simpler version of the classic torso. Word is the set will also feature the Caped Crusader in another underwater vehicle. This seems really odd to me, personally, since we've just gotten a proper movie-based set for Aquaman, and with a movie under his belt, it seems odd that Lego would think Batman necessary to sell an Aquaman set. Maybe DC wanted two Aquaman sets and Lego wasn't too confident about it after the Justice League Aquaman set didn't do so hot?
  6. Got some new guys! Let's see if Flickr's photo embedding is working this time Patriot Sand Speedy Osiris Bushido Air Wave Ri EDIT: guess not swapped it out for links
  7. Has anybody found Red Hood yet? I know he's not from any of the levels or the suitcases, but I'm not sure how else you'd unlock a character at this point? UPDATE: Never mind! I should've assumed, but going through the gold brick puzzles and races in the open world open up new missions and boss battles - including Red Hood! I've also noticed a couple of errors since. Firestorm's bio lists him as Ronnie Raymond, when that's very clearly Jason Rushce's Firestorm. The Shade mentions that he can "see madness", which might be an aspect of Shade, but it's definitely a key trait of another DC character, Shade the Changing Man. Sounds like an easy mistake. Also, Blue Beetle's weapons are given electricity powers, even though traditionally (and even in LB3) Jaime's weapons are sonic. It's also a little weird that Red Robin and Nightwing don't have grappling hooks when Batman, Batgirl, and Robin do, but that doesn't seem so much like a mistake.
  8. I think you mean Mercy! I think the best head would be Ayesha's from GotG2. It's the only female head in pearl gold I can think of, and has a pretty neutral expression. Someone used this piece once for her to pretty great effect, too!
  9. So, I've beat all the levels (not 100%, obviously, but beaten nonetheless) and I've got a couple of spoiler-free nitpicks (packed inside a spoiler bracket so I don't clog up the whole page): Pretty much everything else here I'm in love with. Here are a couple of things I was especially surprised by, though (again, spoiler-free, but packed up to avoid clutter):
  10. I agree with Quicksilver up there, these are great! You also somehow managed to make all of these figures using nothing but parts I have - save for one piece per figure, just enough to keep me from making any of them!
  11. I'm seeing a listing for a Deluxe Edition on Gamestop's website. Is that just the game with DLC? And Gamestop is the one that has the free minifig with pre-order, right?
  12. That ability filter is a godsend. I love challenging myself in the post-game to only using certain sets of characters in some levels (ex: just Titans, just Rogues, just Arrowverse characters, etc) and it's almost impossible to do that when you're learning abilities by trial and error. It's gonna be so much easier to use a nice, wide variety of characters now!
  13. Here's the blanks I can fill, and thanks for filling a few of mine! Also some super-pedantic spelling mistakes because I couldn't help myself For the sake of math, I'm also gonna catalog how many heroes we're getting here: Adam Strange, Aqualad, Aquaman, Arsenal, Atom, B'Dg, Batgirl, Batman, Batwoman, Beast Boy, Big Barda, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Creeper, Cyborg, Detective Chimp, Doctor Fate, Donna Troy, Firestorm, Flash, Flash (Wally West), Frankenstein, Green Arrow, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Green Lantern (John Stewart), Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Huntress, Jessica Cruz, Katana, Kid Flash, Krypto, Martian Manhunter, Mazahs, Mister Miracle, Nightwing, Orion, Plastic Man, Raven, Red Hood, Red Robin, Red Tornado, Robin, Shazam, Simon Baz, Starfire, Superboy, Superman, Vixen, Wonder Girl, and Wonder Woman TOTAL: 52/162 I could've counted that wrong, but given that number and DC...it's probably right Is that about on par with the number of villains we got in LB3?
  14. I'm guessing we're gonna see something like Avengers, where Gotham and Metropolis are just two halves of New York, while places like Smallville are smaller, separate areas akin to Washington DC or Asgard. That also sounds like the best way to manage a wide variety of iconic locations while still maintaining a satisfying, explorable overworld.
  15. Nothing new, but we do know that Gotham and Metropolis will both be part of the open world, as well as Smallville, presumably to a much lesser degree.
  16. I don't think we're doing a very good job of keeping this place up-to-date Apparently they revealed Jon Kent's Superboy as a playable character a bit ago?
  17. Not a bad pick, but this one might make for a good option! Of course, that one seems a little harder to come by.
  18. I can't imagine why they wouldn't be. Speaking of which! We're looking at: 6 Level Packs - Aquaman Movie Pack 1&2 - Shazam Movie Pack 1&2 - Batman: The Animated Series - Young Justice 4 Character Packs - DC Super-Villains: TV Series - DC Super Heroes: TV Series - Justice League Dark - DC Films I'd post the promo image, but I can't get it both legible and small enough to fit. It's not hard to find on Instagram, though, and features beautiful renders of the new Shazam figure, a CW Supergirl, the most recent Aquaman minifig, and the DCEU Batman!
  19. Do we know who that is tucked between Gorilla Grodd and Granny Goodness? EDIT: Nevermind! My reading comprehension skills are low, BaneShake said it was Grail already! Apparently she's the herald of the Anti-Monitor these days, Silver Surfer-style. I wonder if we'll see the Anti-Monitor in this game? Or maybe he'll be a tease for our first true Lego DC game? Or maybe that would be too similar to Lego Marvel's plot?
  20. Doesn't he have the same design as the news broadcaster in the cutscenes? Because that literally can't be Clark Kent, since he's supposed to have disappeared with the rest of the League, right?
  21. So I was right! She played Cheetah in not only LB3, but also Injustice 2 and JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time! Apparently she also played the de-aged Doctor Fate in JLA, and Cyberwoman on Arrow (as well as the less relevant Sapphire from Steven Universe)! Where did you find that information?
  22. So I found a gameplay video of a Gorilla City level that I haven't seen anyone talk about. Here're a few of the things worth noting in it: Captain Cold is played by Steve Blum, who also played him in Batman: the Brave and the Bold Solovar is a boss fight in the game All gorillas in Gorilla City apart from Grodd and Solovar are minifig-scale Chima-types There seems to be a Disney's Tarzan reference and at least one Planet of the Apes reference Freeze powers have gotten a new visual, depicting an outline of what they'll create when used for puzzle solving Plant manipulation seems to be a new puzzle-solving power in the game Grodd can use his telekinesis to build objects, something I don't think he could do before It seems most levels will have a preamble, similar to the Maria Hill debriefings in Avengers and the Daily Bugle bulletins in Marvel 2, this time featuring Lois and Jimmy The Cosmic Treadmill now takes the place of "master building" as the speedster building power; you basically complete a Sonic 2 special stage to get all the Lego chunks to build something with Random items such as coins, boxing gloves, guns, and hands pop up on screen with multipliers on them, possibly some kind of weird combo system? Grodd isn't played by his DCAU actor (RIP Powers Boothe), but he could possibly be David Soblov from the Flash. If not, he must be a new guy Solovar isn't any previous actor either, as it's clearly not the Flash's Keith David or the late David Ogden Stiers Lois and Jimmy aren't played by their voice actors from the DCAU, JLA, or any television show I'm familiar with Heatwave is also a mystery to me. He's not any previous portrayal's voice actor (funnily enough, the only actor to play him more than once is Steve Blum) I don't recognize Cheetah either. I can't confidently say she isn't played by a previous voice actress, but if she is, they're definitely playing it differently. It's definitely not her DCAU actress or Morena Baccarin from Batman:B&B. It might be her Injustice 2 voice, but I wouldn't bet money on it. Here's a link, if y'all wanna peep it for yourselves!
  23. They *did* say that everybody was going to be played by *the* guy for that character, and they've done a great job at holding up on that end! Usually I'm mostly excited for what characters are gonna be playable, but now it's like getting twice the reveals - who's in the game and what do they sound like? Hopefully next time we get a proper DC game we'll get the same treatment!
  24. It's interesting that Granny Goodness is a bigfig. She's usually depicted as being kinda short. Kalibak and Steppenwolf look as I expected, and I love love LOVE those Parademons! The decision to use the Batgirl of Burnside design makes me wonder if she'll be making an appearance in the sets soon, especially since she just got a new (worse) costume in the comics. Of course, the best part of this trailer is that Riddler is being played by Wally Wingert, the indisputable best Riddler of all time!
