  1. One pair of the black cams is necessary I think, because they are rotated by the servo in the middle crossholes.
  2. I would rather see Lego bringing down the prices for the servo and L-motor...
  3. Mmm that sucks, I hope they will include the v2 receivers in later versions.
  4. Excelent review Jim! Realy enjoyed it and looking forward to get this beast! Looks realy fun to play with and offers an excelent selection of parts. Two questions; -Does the servo motor turn 90 degrees left or right or is it limited in any way? -Does it come with v2 receivers? (couldn't realy see it in the picture)
  5. Thanks for the replies everyone. Don't think so, while building the car, everything was spinning smoothly. I also think the protection inside the battery is the problem, (I think it's damaged somehow, and kicks in way to early) but since I don't know how to open it without damaging, I'm probably going to contact the lego customer sevice, to see what they can do for me.
  6. Yeah, but this problem appeard suddenly, a week ago it worked just as fine as my new one. And I think the load wasn't that high since the floor was very smooth and the tires are wrapped with tape to make them slippery :)
  7. One of my 8878 batteries (which I have for nearly two years now) performs very bad, it seems like the overload protection kicks in almost imediately in situations where my other one just works perfectly. Does anybody had this problem before or knows what it could be? Because a video says more than thousand words: http://youtu.be/niEDLc0vPN8
  8. That looks fantastic! I realy like compact mocs like these, especialy with rc motors:). Could you tell me the gear ratio?
  9. One of my worst moc's is a scissorlift I built for an ACC race. The restrictions were that the vehicles height had to be two times the widt. It had some pretty good speed, but understeered like crazy because of the lack of differentials. It also tipped over in nearly every corner and lost all of its wheels during the race. (next time I should realy use 5.5L axles with stop lol) eventhough it failed miserably in the race, It won the price for the most original design. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6091905 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6091906
  10. Looks nice! Does it have four wheel steering?
  11. My favorite middle-range set is definitely the 8081, I think it looks realy good and it offers quite some black panels and suspension parts. Unfortunately it's quite rare since it was a "limited edition"
  12. You could also buy a v2 separately from bricklink, they start at about 22$ from what I remember
  13. I think the speed without load will be pretty much the same, but when it comes to torque, you will have more with the v2
  14. V1 will work fine, but your model will have less power compared with using the v2
  15. Nice concept! But I would rather see Lego making a new pf-motor with the same characteristics as the rc-motor(high speed and power! ), but with a different shape, such as the L-motor, so it's easier to mount.
  16. Looks realy nice! I think it's a good choice to sell it ready to motorize and I would realy like to buy it when it's available. do you have any estimations of how much it would cost?
  17. That's some amazing speed and power! I assume two lipos are for the rc-motors and the third one for the servo?
  18. No, unfortunately I don't have any videos about the trial, but I found some photos:
  19. Sorry to revive this topic, but I wanted to show you the truck in action. The truck is still assembled and at the last LOWLUG meeting we had a trial competition which I won with it. I also modified the body a bit, so now it's fully detachable. Link to the video:
  20. Wow, pure awesomeness! That thing has some amazing performance for it's size, and pretty durable too! If I'm correct the gearing is 12-20 from the slowest output of the rc motors?
  21. Indeed, that would be very usefull, especially for using with a servo.
  22. -Lego rims never slip inside the tires. -All parts of one collor have always the same tint. -And the 42000 wheelhubs don't have any slop at all. - I never have bent axles and scratched parts in my collection
  23. I would never use silicone spray to lubricate the moving parts of a lego rc car.
